Lachesia I spend far too much time on the internet and the rest of my time reading, walking, watching TV, and trying to catch up on all the anime that I didn't watch when I was younger. I'm still single, and still attempting to figure out a career at the moment. Oh tell me about it! Society expected us to know what we wanted to do as a career for the rest of our lives when we were 17?! I don't think I'll ever figure out my niche, if I have one. I know we have a few other anime fans here too *pokes Jaz.* Poppetta 2 new joinees in one weekend, great stuff smile I'm thinking there was a third (well really, fourth, including Aliena, Lachesia, Kaenai, and one other?) but I can't think of the name to look up/add to avatar portraits and I don't feel like hunting back through our now 64 page thread... Show yourself, other new purkle! domokun wink

Thank you guys so much for the welcome! I'll definitely make my presence known much more here in this guild, so watch out!
Yeah, I love playing piano. I'm not a master - I actually am only at an intermediate level because my parents left me with the decision on whether I wanted to stay in lessons or not, and as a kid, I decided I didn't. I regret that, though! I did teach myself to play then again when I got into choir, by trying to read through all the choral pieces' accompaniment.
Lachesia! Hee hee...I'm just that cool. You can't help but stalk me! ;P It's great to see you in here too!

FawN, amen to that! I had to change my career path because of an injury, too, which was unexpected. Funny how life goes, I guess, but yep, as long as we keep going forward, I guess it's all good. Thing is, how are we supposed to know what forward is?
Yes, thanks for the lovely welcomes! ^_^
Aliena, maybe we're twins separated at birth. But that would make us triplets, as I've already got a twin brother. XD It's good to see you here, too!
Majikjaz, you compose? Wow, I'm impressed! I learned to play the piano rather indifferently, gave it up in junior high, and took up choir instead for a while. I'm always impressed with people who write their own music!

I know we have a few other anime fans here too *pokes Jaz.* yes i confess I like me some anime. one of my cats is named Kaguya and before her I had a cat named Kikyo (and almost named our new one Kirara before going with Kohana) ... can you guess which anime is my favorite? altho I think Eternal is more anime than me. I'm starting to watch more tho. I love cartoon network and adult swim hehehe @ Lachesia - yea I used to compose. Mostly when the power would go out. It was so romantic. I would light candles on the piano and just play whatever came into my head and try to write it down. It was fun. I can't really do it without the piano tho so I have to wait until we have it. And before anyone's impressed, it was mostly 1 minute long songs in the key of A minor and I never wrote lyrics to any of them and I lost all the ones i wrote down in the many moves I've made

I just sit down and play and see what happens. The first one I ever did, I remember I was in 6th grade. I named it "Sunset in Ecuador." Hee hee! But I rarely actually transcribe it! I keep it in my head, which is dangerous because I've forgotten many songs! For a while, though, I'd put them in midi format, though it's just not the same because you can't vary the tempos very well (go rubato) or adjust the volume or just play with feeling. But at least having them in midi, all I have to do is listen and I remember what to play! Plus, it's fun "dressing" them up! Here're a few: http://www.twofrequencies.com/music/TheMinstrel.midhttp://www.twofrequencies.com/music/elation.midhttp://www.twofrequencies.com/music/krlovetheme.midAnd then my lullabye, which I just recorded vocally, but also wrote first on the piano: http://www.twofrequencies.com/music/beautifulone.mp3I would actually love to notate and perhaps publish the last one. But I've thought often of trying to write teaching pieces for piano - you know, the simple ones that early piano players play. Music's my first love!

Hi everyone! Just thought I would stop in and introduce myself.
I heard about the couch over at Zantarni, glad that I saw it, Ive been looking for older Gaians for a long time! Im a 29 year old stay at home Mom of 2. I love art in all of its many forms. I do a lil freelance web/graphic design.
I spend most of my time reading or playing video games with my kids. (Final Fantasy is the house favorite). Other than that, I can be found lurking around on Gaia or Zantarni, and on rare occasion Neopets. biggrin
