York looked up at his mate, feeling at a loss about the world. Things were so much different...so much different from raising the girls...so much harder...He shook his head and made his way over to D, wrapping his arms firmly around him and nuzzling him. He swallowed and closed his eyes, trying not to think of the way that Raleigh struggled when he kissed him...how lonely he must have been...
"What can I do, D?" York asked in a low, hoarse voice. "I love him...he's my son...but he doesn't love me...and I can't show him how I feel...why not...?" He rocked back and forth, clinging to D as if the world would end if he released even the tiniest bit of pressure on his partner. "Delta, I love you," York sobbed helplessly.

D clung to York stroking his back and nuzzling him in return. He listened as York sobbed his heartbreak about Raleigh. D closed his eyes and clung to York. Things had been so much easier with the girls. Yes, Yvette could get into a lot of trouble, but they'd been good kids.
"I don't know York...." he said feeling as lost as York. His partners mood affecting him. "I wish I did...but I don't...." He made small soothing noises at York and held onto him tight know that York needed him. "I love you too, Robert." he said quietly. "I always will...."
