The kitten's body was tight and stiff in his mate's arms, his eyes squeezed closed. He was so idiotic. He had just wanted to impress Imhotep, but of COURSE this was too dressy for pizza eaten in the apartment. Stupid, stupid cat. "I'm s-sorry." He whimpered again, curling up tight and pressing his face against the wolf's chest.

Imhotep was now worried about his kitten, something was wrong and he could sense it. He didnt want to pry as this was his mates personal business and he should only be told if and when his mate was ready to tell him. But looking at his mate it seemed he was cowering for some reason and Imhotep was wanting to know why and though it went agiesnt his personal beliefs as to not prying into others business he just had to this once.
"Sweetheart, its all right I swear to you right now, you have not done a single thing wrong so there is definatly no need to apologise. But please my angel, please tell me why are you acting like this? Like your scared or something. I dont usually pry into others business and you have the right not to tell me if you dont want to and I will understand but im worried about you sweetheart, I dont want to see you like this when it upsets me so" he said softly to his mate as he stroaked his hair, trying to calm the poor thing down.

"I'm s-stupid." He whimpered, voice muffled, hands coming up to fist in Imhotep's shirt. He was shaking slightly, a by-product of how tightly wound he was the moment. "I...I j-just t-thought...w-w-with w-what w-we t-t-talked a-about...a-after...a-after d-d-dinner, a-and I-i...I-i w-wanted t-to i-i-impress y-you...t-to l-l-look n-nice b-because...b-b-because..." The promise, almost the threat now, of what might come was still weighing heavily in his mind. He had never gone so far into a relationship without having sex that...there was so much pressure on the event, he needed so badly to make it GOOD. This had nothing whatsoever to do with Imhotep, honestly. "B-b-because. B-but...b-but i-it w-was s-stupid of m-me, b-because i-it's o-o-only p-p-pizza, r-right? A-and...a-a-and now I'i-ve m-made y-you w-w-worry e-even m-more." There was a scared little moan. "I...I d-don't k-k-know w-why y-you p-p-put u-up w-with m-me, I...I'm s-so p-p-pathetic."

Imhotep sighed and tilted his mates head up to meet his gaze "ok first of all, you are NOT nor ever will be patetic or stupid. That idea has to get our of your head right now, I mean it Ari, please dont keep thinking that when it is not true and it never has been or will be." He said in a stern yet gentle mannor, letting go of his mates head and leaning down and kissing him on the lips softly for a few seconds before pulling away and smilling at his kitten softly.
Now, you can impress me all you want but nothing is going to make me love you anymore then what I already do. Sure, you look beautiful in what your wearing, I grant you that, but there isnt any need to impress me when you have already done that. Im here arnt I? Sitting on your bed, in your arms, cuddling you, the impressing has already been done and it worked like a charm. But now you and I can take things at our own pace and just have fun along the way, you dont need to impress me anymore since you did that right from when we first meet.
Your personality, your sweetness, you kind heart and your love for others is what attracted me to you. You were my first friend here and I slowly but surely fell in love with you and so the impressing doesnt need to happen anymore. Its over with, we have become mates and that is all that we need to worry about now, not how to impress each other, lets leave that for the people who are still starting out on the road to find someone and let them impress whoever it is they see and like. as we no longer need to.
Whatever happens tonight, happens and it will be because WE made it happen, not clothes or anything else fancy. WE made it happen because we love each other which brings me to the last thung.
I put up with you because i LOVE you. Nothing you say or do will make meve think your pathetic or stupid, not now and not ever. I love you so much my darling and I am with you because I WANT to be with you, I love you and I couldnt be any happier then just being with you. You are stuck with me Angel, wether you like it or not, there is no way in hell I am ever leaving your side when I love you like I do" he said to his mate as he nuzzled him gentle and kissed his head, stroaking his hair still as he tried to calm his mate down.

Tears beaded on the kitten's pale eyelashes as he listened, as his head was tiltled up, all though Imhotep's speech. Oh god. Oh god. How...how in the world had he managed this? Managed to find someone so sweet and caring and forgiving. His heart was in his throat, and he whimpered once more. "I-i'm a-a-always s-so s-scared o-of l-l-l-loosing y-you." Ari confessed, burying his face in the wolf's shoulder once more, crying quietly.

Imhoteps ears fell agiesnt his head as he heard his mates words and felt terrible for his mate just having to think that. "Well believe me sweetheart, you will never ever lose me. You and I together for life and I swear to you right now that there isnt a single thing in this world that will ever make me want to leave your side, I am always going to be here for you when you need me and I will never leave your side when I love you so much. As I said my darling, you are stuck with me no matter what." he said to his mate softly as he rubbed his back, trying to calm his mate down and try and stop him from crying as he kissed his head.

Ari continued to cry quietly, shivering a little. Not going to be abandoned, not going to be left behind. No, no. He wasn't. His fingers tightened, bone-white from how tightly he was clutching. There was nothing he could do now but apologize for being silly, but that would only make Imhotep feel more guilty. So Ari stayed quiet, letting his fear subside, arms now wrapping around the wolf's neck.

Imhotep held his kitten tight and didnt say anything, he just wanted his mate to calm down. He could never think Ari stupid or pathetic, he could never think anything bad about his mate when he loved him so much. However right now Ari just needed to be comforted and that is all, he stayed there with him and kept his arms tight around his kitten and nuzzled him a little "its alright Ari, everything will be alright I promis" he said softly to the other as he stroaked his hair.

After a minute or two, he calmed down more, tears fading away. Finally, the kitten relaxed limply against Imhotep's chest, sighing. He felt...exhausted. And they had just climbed out of bed. He pulled away to look up into his mate's face, his eyes lined with red, his own face tear-stained. Yet, he offered a small, sad smile before he nuzzled at the wolf's chest. "T-thank y-you." He whispered gratefully.

Imhotep smiled down at his mate softly "your welcome my darling" he said softly to the other as he kissed his forehead "though are you sure you want to come down with me to get dinner? You sure you don want me to just bring the pizza back up here and you can rest?" he asked the other as he stroaked his hair.

Ari nuzzled into the affection, closing his eyes once more. His fears weren't completely allayed - probably wouldn't be for quite some time, because...it was Ari. But for now, he was content. "N-no, I w-want t-to come d-down with y-y-you." He replied softly, sitting up a little and brushing away the left-over moisture from his cheeks.

Ari nodded, relaxing against him again for a few more moments, drinking in his mate's strength and warmth. Imhotep was...more than he ever could have wished for, coming here.
After a little while, the kitten pulled away and out of Imhotep's arms. Padding back over to his dresser, he selected a much less dressy shirt - not out of fear or guilt but because...Imhotep was right, in the end. Taking off the dress shirt and folding it up, he slipped the dark-red t-shirt - far too big on him, like most of the shirts he wore - over his head. "A-alright."

Imhotep smiled and got up off the bed and walked over to his mate and kissed his forehead "you look beautiful" he said softly and walked over top the door and opened it. He stood there and held his hand out to his mate and smiled softly "lets go get dinner" he said to his mate, sighing contentedly.
