Another sheepish smiled worked its way onto her features as well as a blush, though it wasn't anywhere near as noticable as the other ones had been. Following closely behind him, Cassi was careful to pay attention while at the same time trying to calm her eagerness.
Like Damien, her clothes had gotten slightly dirty while on the roof, but she was disinclined to make a big deal over it. In fact, she was going to completely ignore the matter. Her mother nor any of her servants were not in the area, so Cassi found that without those well placed guards, she was as free as she would ever be considering she was a princess.
She jerked to attention at his next words and although they gave her another impression as to what he was like as a person, she found herself disagreeing. "I don't quite think that's true. If one does not have hopes, then there is nothing to look forward to. And if there is nothing to look forward to, would that not make living quite a droll exsistence?" This was by far the most she had said to him in once statement, but Cassi again found herself uncareing. If she was able to open up even just a bit more while during her stay here, then she wouldn't fear her time as a leader, no matter how far away or close it was.

[[Princess Mandy, I've got a question from Metanaito (if you still remember him. Yakunan?). He's re-opened the roleplay and was wondering if you'd like to come back and play Ten again? :] I know I'd love it if you could.]]
Damien didn't slow or turn as he spoke this time, making his quiet voice almost inaudible. It was a habit of his to speak softly, as his hearing was sensitive and he often subconsciously expected the same of everybody else.
"Mm. I've gotten that a lot." He spoke detachedly, as if his mind wasn't really there. "It's an optimistic view. Hope is not necessarily bad, I suppose, but too much of it, like anything else, backfires easily." He slowed at the last two steps and lingered at the bottom of the staircase. For the first time in a while, he felt peaceful in another person's company. She had an aura, he thought, of relative calm. Not like others, who always had strong emotions battling around them.
It was a short trip from there to the outdoors. Damien blinked at the sun, which had grown brighter since their stay on the roof. It was a nice day, he had to admit.
He made his way in the general direction of where he thought the picnic should be. The servants had just about finished laying out the picnic blankets, and were holding them down with appeared to be crystal weights.
"Look," he mumbled to Cassi, his tone amused. "A picnic, noble-style. Silk blankets, crystal weights, and I swear those baskets are designer." He stayed a fair enough distance away, so that the servants were shooting them curious looks (as servants were apt to do) but not speaking to them.

Each step was just as light and carefree as the one before it. She walked with a newly-found bounce. As if she was being reborn. But in the same time period and same age. She liked the feel of not having to worry about things that would happen. it seemed completely and totally irrelevant to the world then.
Lady Josephine continued to pull Canis after her, her hand never letting go of his. The flowers provided a burst of color beside them as she made her way through the garden. Finally she stopped in front of a gorgeous, wooden gazebo. The color was fading from snow white to a cream color, vines having overcome the structure.

Cassi listened quietly as he spoke. Although she disagreed with his opinion, she did understand the logic of the statement. She didn't notice his scruinty as her eyes trained on the servants outside who continued to set up the picnic.
Only a step or two behind Damien, she winced at the bright clarity of the sunlight, wishing she had thought to bring a parocel but not mentioning it. Years of learning how to adjust to uncomfortable things had settled Cassi to adjust to the sunlight now.
When he pointed out the crystal weights that held down the blankets and the other more un-common things that weren't really needed at a picnic. "I suppose...it is what the others are used to?"
As they came upon the gazebo, Canis was reminded of his first day at the Academy; he had been bored and decided to go on a walk when he found the small thing. Now he came here whenever he wanted to think. He was glad that Josephine had decided to lead the way there.
As he let her pull him along, he noticed that she seemed a bit more carefree now, almost as if she were really just a mere child. It made him smile.

Damien looked back at Cassie with a slight irritation in his eyes, though he did not notice it or know the cause. The boy chose not to respond, and continued watching the servants silently with his hands in his pockets. The crisp wind behind him blew his hair into his face. He scowled and pushed it back.
Apparently, they were early. Nobody else was around and lunch evidently had not yet begun. Damien soon grew bored and watched coldly as a servant scurried up before him and Cassi.
"Lunch will be served here soon, sir and madame," squeaked the young man. The black-haired noble cocked an eyebrow and nodded his acknowledgement.
"Well, you wanted to come down here," he said to Cassi without turning to her. "What do you want to do now?"
[[Where is Noelani? >: It's been a while. Also, when will lunch begin?]]

She jumped when Damien looked at her, surprised and unerved by the look he gave her. Nervous, she took a step back, knowing that looks like that often meant something that ended badly. Paling slightly, she backed away from him, putting a little bit of distance between them until she was sure that everything would be alright.
When the servant came up to them, Cassi nodded slowly, making sure to keep her eyes on Damien. She knew that her mother would call her a cowering mouse if she saw Cassi like this, but she couldn't help it. After all, it was her fault that Cassi was like that.
"I, um...we...we could walk around until it's time?"

Machi was known for many things (back on his home island) but waiting around was not one of them. The thought of food made him more impatient, until finally he made a judgment call. He now had names with faces, these students won't be going anywhere anytime soon. These passages have obviously been around for quite a long time. They too, were also going no where. For now, Machi was content at hording his secrets, after all one never knew when the information would come in handy.
With a knowing look and a curt wave, Machi resealed the entrance to the fire place and started to retrace his steps all the way back to the library. To hide his discover, he placed the books back into place. As he strode out of the library, he gave the large fire place a knowing look.
'You'll be next.'
When Fuego found the boy again, Machi swore the old man would have a heart attack. But what was new? Eager to get some food in his stomach, Machi allowed Fuego to fret and be tugged along as the man ushered the boy into the bathing area that was right next door to his room. He bathed quickly to wash out ages of dust and cobwebs off him and dressed for the lunch in the gardens. At this point Fuego didn't need to remind Machi of the lunch date, as Machi was already looking forward to it. Machi ALSO did not tell the elder aide of his efforts to speak more of these people's language. Machi had been defiant for so long, it seemed a shame to give in so easily. Plus he wanted to get really good while Fuego wasn't around to listen and then completely surprise him speechless.
Once Machi was dressed (similar clothes to the ones he changed out of) Fugeo took his normal place at the boy's side, and they headed to the gardens. At the very least, Machi hopped they had sea food. Fresh from the ocean. As the doors were opened and the endless blue sky stretched out above them, while the green lawns spread below them, Machi smiled lightly. He spied more students gathering and hoped for more interaction. All this time he'd been brooding like a brat he'd completely forgotten about the other students, people who were his age, and in his same situation. It was comforting to say the least, and he wanted to know, each of them, hear their stories about their kingdoms. Because suddenly, the world just wasn't his small island. It was something bigger.
Machi lead the way with Fuego coaching him on how to keep a regal bearing. How to walk upright and properly. It was almost annoying. At least there wasn't THAT many people around. Machi would hate anyone seeing him trying to practice being normal. He'd have to speak with Fuego later about after hour lessons. Right now Fuego coaching him every step of the way was rather embarrassing.

Damien was cold, but not oblivious. Quite the opposite, in fact. Something about Cassi changed, drastically. Gone was her calm, replaced by a strange sense of apprehension - and was that fear?
He hadn't expected it, but he made sure to appear as though he had. Constant bombardments of "surprises" - which were rarely pleasant, in his experience - had built up an eternal guard that stopped him from reacting before thinking. He avoided her gaze and pretended not to notice, but in the back of his mind, he wondered what had caused this sudden change. The servant? Could it have been the servant? Maybe she had had a bad history with servants.
Shaking it off, he nodded and spoke to Cassi again, still not looking at her. "You lead the way," he mumbled, sweeping his black hair from his eyes.
Suddenly, the same presence he had felt in the stairwell tickled his mind, and he looked past Cassi toward the castle. The boy from the stables stood there, with an older man beside him. The way he walked seemed almost unnatural, as if he wasn't used to it.
Damien said nothing. He turned away again and waited for Cassi to go somewhere, as he preferred to follow rather than lead. Life seemed less troublesome that way, he thought. Less troublesome was always a good thing.

Cassi hesitated for a moment, still unable to determine what it was exactly that she had done to upset him, before finally noding, though it was shaky, and walking slowly in the direction of the flower maze on the other side of the garden. Her shoulders were tense and she was still unsure of what to do or how to react.
When Damien looked past her to the stables, her eyes landed on one of the boy's she had seen earlier in the morning, though she didn't remember speaking with him. He seemed a bit odd, if interesting. Idly, Cassi wondered why he was allowed to have his own personal servant when she knew that she had been denied her own? Shrugging, she turned back to Damien.
Finally, unable to bare it any longer, she stopped and gently grasped his shoulder so that he wouldn't go any further. "Did...did I do something to make you mad?"

Damien quickly moved his shoulder out from under her hand. Then, the question registered in his mind. He stared dumbly at her before regaining his senses.
That had startled him. It seemed Cassi was always full of things that threw him off his feet - which should have been very rare. He felt a flicker of irritation toward himself. What had happened to the cold, calculating Damien? The one who was always unfeeling and apathetic? There must have been something wrong with the school. It seemed to be testing him every step of the way.
He finally answered, working to keep his uneasiness out of his voice. "Mad?" he repeated, raising an eyebrow. "If I was mad, you wouldn't have had to ask." The corners of his mouth twitched upward in a wry smile. He wondered where her question had come from. It seemed so out of the blue. Maybe she had mistaken his naturally cold attitude for anger or dislike? "Did I do something to make you think you made me mad?" he asked back, grinning slightly as if he was joking. He wasn't.

She flinched when he pulled away from her, not expecting the action nor his reaction to her question. A blush covered her cheeks now from embarrassment and she looked down at her feet, a small frown working its way onto her features. So then he wasn't mad at her?
"Well, it's just, when I said the others might be used to it...you looked annoyed with me." Cassi stopped, not sure what else to say. "I thought that maybe my comment had angered you..."

Bella's smile faded as she heard him tell her about how he did not like his history. "Oh...I am sorry...I should not have ask in the first place..." She apologized to Maxwell. 'I am so dumb...asking something like that...it must have been horrible...the executing and stuff...' She thought.
There was an awkward silence and Bella did not know how to break it, she was a bit nervous and cautious of what to say. "Um...I have to go now...I want to go look around outside on the school ground more..." Bella said politely with a little polite smile, curtsying quickly as she walked away.
She continued to walk around outside of the school, around, meaning she would pass the side of the school. She just embraced her surroundings, viewing trees and flowers, little animals in their nature. Finding particular tree, a colorful one that is a cherry blossom tree, she went to it. Sitting against it, Bella was in the shade, her head leaned on the trunk of the tree. Sighing, she closed her eyes, just drifting in another light slumber as she was a bit exhausted by just thinking too much.

Damien stared hard at Cassi, his dark eyebrows furrowing over his steel-grey eyes. He saw the blush on her cheeks and the frown on her face. The silence hung rather thick in the air before he spoke, his voice as quiet as usual.
"I wasn't. Annoyed at you, I mean," he told her, looking away after his scrutiny. He continued walking toward the flowers. The wind blew his black hair away from his face, revealing pale skin that the sun rarely touched. A pensive feeling leaked into his aura, barely noticeable but definitely there.
"What does it matter, anyway?" He seemed as if he could be talking to himself, but he wasn't. "If I was mad at you. What does it matter?" He turned, fixing her with his gaze.

Aurora was about to get off the couch just when she saw someone coming out from somewhere and head out of the library. It was the prince from before, the one who seemed foreign. Aurora turned to look confusedly at Webster. "I thought we were by ourselves..." she said as she then shrugged, "I guess he's off to the picnic luncheon. Maybe we should be off as well." Aurora placed the book aside and stood up as Webster crawled down from the couch and stood beside her. "Let's go, shall we?" she said, giving Webster a smile before heading out of the library. Webster crawled slightly before Aurora as they went through the hallways and out of the the academy's grand entrance door. "Ah, air again..." Aurora smiled as she inhaled the fresh air before walking down the steps.
They both headed towards the gazebo and looked around if anyone was around. "Eh, not much people..." she said as she noticed a few, "Well then, let's go climb trees or something..." she suggested before walking down the garden's path to find a huge tree. "Ah ha..." she grinned at one that was the tallest and had the largest trunk than the rest of the other trees. "Don't mind if I climb on ya?" she said, practically talking to the tree itself before giving it a pat. She allowed Webster to go up first, which was easy enough for him with his legs. "All right-y then..." Aurora spoke as she rubbed both her hands and began climbing up the tree. About two or three minutes later, she was sitting on a large branch with Webster beside her. "Wow," she muttered at the small view. Although they weren't at the top yet, the view of half the gazebo was shown. "Lovely, isn't it?" she asked Webster, keeping her eyes on the view. She decided to just wait in the tree until she sees everyone was present and the picnic is set up.

Lukas watched the yellow dog for a while as the dog did the same thing to him. "Where did you come from, my friend?" he asked as he leaned forward towards the dog. The dog gave a bark and went around in circles before sitting down on its hind legs. "Hmm..." Lukas thought as he clicked his tongue for the dog to come forward. He looked around the neck of the dog to find no collar. "You're on your own?" Lukas asked before scratching the dog behind its ears. "Well then, I can't call you 'it'...so..." he said, thinking of a name for the Labrador Retriever, "And since you're a male...how about... Toby?" the violet hair boy asked in an unsure tone. The Labrador barked again and wagged his tail. "I guess that's a yes..." he smiled, "However, I don't think I could keep you in this academy," he said, petting the dog again as his smile slowly disappeared. Lukas was not a social type yet never bothered to be around people. He always preferred being alone, feeling that it was more like him but on the other hand, he always wanted someone beside him, unlike his parents. "Well Toby..." he said with a slight smile, "Let's go to the gazebo, shall we?" Lukas stood up and began walking around the corner of the academy as the dog followed him. They reached to the garden and went to a quiet, isolated area and sat down in the shade. The dog began running around for a bit as Lukas watched the dog and smiled. Toby pretty much made his day so far.

“No, no, sir! That isn’t the way.” Fuego reprimanded sternly for perhaps the 93287021384703284 time. Since they were attending a lunch out on the lawn, Fuego had seen this as an opportune time to teach Machi a few lessons on manners and posture. But the way Fuego had wanted Machi to carry himself just felt plain odd to Machi. Even walking was a difficult chore as he had to keep his head high, his steps deliberate and sharp. He felt like a strutting bird of some sort! Certainly not at all what the other students were doing. For awhile the boy went along with it for the sake of learning to do it properly, but the more he did it, the more wrong it felt. So he tried his own variations, ones that were still regal in their own right but more comfortable and most important of all ‘natural’ looking. But he flinched when he paused mid step when Fuego had pointed out he was doing it all wrong.
Machi wondered how on earth anyone could walk ‘wrong’. As the elderly man went over the lessons again, Machi did his best to pay attention but found his eyes wandering. More people began to appear in anticipation of the lunch to be served. The day was perfect, cloudless sky, warm sun and a cool breeze. Though it lacked the salty scent of the sea and the tropical perfumes of the forest, this place had it’s own beauty he could appreciate. The area was large and only invited the boy to run around and play. Several times Fuego had to snap at him to get Machi to focus on his short lessons. It was back to that walking like royalty business, and after getting lectured a few more times. Machi snapped back irritated. He began to walk but suddenly launched himself into a hand stand. From his upside down position he gave Fuego a piece of his mind simply by sticking out his tongue and began walking away on his hands to mock him. When Fuego gave chase as Machi expected he would, the boy began to laugh and threw himself into a series of back hand springs. He threw in a few back flips to frustrate the old aide now this was more like it. At the end of his stings of arial moves, the boy looked back to find Fuego had given up to catch his breath. Which was good since Fuego no longer reprimand Machi, let alone give him another lesson. So Machi took the opportune moment to see just who was up and about.
Instantly he spotted two students together, a male and female, both of which were familiar. Machi had a few run ins with Damian, did not know him by name, but did recognize him by the aura he exuded was a ‘keep away’ one. The girl with him, Machi remembered seeing at the dining room, he’d not spoken to either personally, and at this stage felt intimidated to. He was not confident in his speech and felt that even if he did try, they would only be confused. Besides, they seemed to be in their own world at the moment. Machi tilted his head, suddenly realizing something. Damien had that aura about him that kept about him to keep others at bay, yet here was the very same young man in the company of another. Machi wondered if this was a sign of change or was a fluke. Shifting his gaze he spotted the young princess with the spider companion pull herself into a tree. Machi was half tempted to join her but refrained for the very same reasons he kept from approaching anyone. He spotted the settings for the picnic but no food. Everything from the blanket to the plates just screamed refinement. However, if the food was good, Machi didn't care whether they ate from fine porcelain or bamboo ware.
