August snorted and tossed his head around, sending his mane flying everywhere. He smiled at Rose. "Nope!" he said happily. He lowered his head and lifted his legs up high. He then broke into a suspended canter around the pasture. He stopped when he had completed one pass around. He then reared up and stuck out with his forelegs, whinnying loudly. He pranced back up to Rose. "Not at all..." he said with a smile.

"Sure. I'm sure both of you will do terrific."Collin said looking up from his second slice of pizza. He smiled at the girls.
Wildfire watched the other two before laying down. She rested her head on the ground and fell asleep.

Shana smiled back. "Bet you will too." she said to Collin. She finished her second slice of pizza and grabbed another. "Geez, I'm so hungry.."
August eventually slowed down and stopped beside Rose. He noticed that Wildfire had fallen asleep. "Well, at least someone can sleep." he said with an exasperated sigh. He shook his head around.

"Yeah you'll both do better then Rose and me. Knowing her she's bound to act up." Emma started on her second slice of pizza. She smiled and giggled.
Rose watched August and kept up with him for most of the way. When he stopped by slideing she stopped by turning the corner. She hated sliding stops as she was likely to misjudge the distance and crash into something. "Yes well. We all will have to sleep at some point. We can't stay up all night."

Shana shot a glance at Emma. "Don't say that...you're going to do great!" she said changing her glance to a smile. She too then giggled a bit before settling back down. "Well...I know Emma will be jumping, and I'll be doing dressage, what about you Collin?" asked him, facing him once more.
August sighed and yawned. "Yeah you're right...and I think sleep might be getting the better of me too..." he said, yawning again. He put his head over Rose's back and rested there. He sighed. "Yeah, now I'm tired..." he said with a light chuckle.

Emma raised her eyebrows and shrugged. She looked to Collin for his answer.
"See, told you." Rose cocked a hind leg and yawned.

Shana laughed at Emma's reaction. "I'm serious Emma! You're going to do great!" she said with emphasis on the word 'great'. She then turned to Mikuru. "So, uh, we're going to be able to train more before the show right? I-I may want to try and enter a beginner jumping class in the show as well as dressage."
August chuckled again. "I guess you did." he said and he too cocked a hind leg and relaxed, keeping his head rested on Rose's back.

"We'll have to wait and see about that." Emma was remembering Rose's first show. She hadn't been riding nor had she been there but she had seen the viedo. The mare had been good for a single round but on the second she flipped. Rose had knocked a pole down and then refused a jump, only to continue with the next jump and knock another pole down. She fought her rider and at the last jump she judged badly and took off too late. The mare had crashed through the fence and then dumped her rider in the arena. It took over a week to get her to jump again. "Rose had a realy bad first show. Like a super bad first show."
Rose swished her tail gently and lowered her head, half asleep. She answered him with another yawn.

Shana put a confused look on her face. "What happened? Or do you even want to recount it..." she said smiling. "I know I don't like telling other people about bad shows." she said quietly, thinking about the last bad show she and August had. The a few weeks before championships, there was the last qualifying show. Some other rider got full of himself and decieded to try ad eliminate some competition, so while she and August were performing a piaffe, he and his stallion bumped August on the side which was unbalanced, sending he and Shana to the ground. He did it again later while they were performaing a half-pass and August sprained his ankle in that fall. They still somehow managed to qualify for the championships...Shana shook her head bringing herself back to reality.
August chuckled and slowly fell asleep with his head still on Rose's back. His ears occassionally flickered back and forth.
((I won't be able to post again for 4 or 5 days. I won't have access to a computer... crying ))

Emma looked shyly at Shana. "Well, I wasn't there but I've seen the viedo and I worked with Rose after the show." She paused and took a breath. "She jumped a realy good first round and then she knocked down a pole and it freaked her out. She ended up refuseing a jump and knocking down more poles. She fought her rider and crashed through the last jump. That's when she started dumping people." Emma had looked away from Shana and then returned her eyes to her friend. "Rose wouldn't jump for a week. She completely refused ever attempt. We had to take her back to the basics and work up." She didn't mind telling as she hadn't been riding though she thought she should have.

Shana listened as Emma told her story. "Wow...sounds like it was pretty nasty...wait, was this before you owned her or after?" she asked confused. She glaned quickly over at Collin, then looked back at Emma.

"Well it was before I owned her, but I knew her then. I worked with Rose the most, I should have been the one riding her in the show but I couldn't. I worked with her afterwards to get her jumping again." Emma left out why she couldn't show Rose. To admit that would mean that she would have to tell the whole story. How she wasn't suppost to do anything but ride Rose in lessons and definatly not jump her, though she had.

"Ah, okay. Well, she's doing really under you. It's obvious she has natural jumping ability and she has potential to excel. When you and she jumped earlier today, I was like 'WOW!'." she said putting a surprised expression on her face, then laughing. She finished her 3rd slice of pizza, then yawned. "I'm getting tired..." she said with a smile.

Cricket had been watching them from the window and yawned after Shana. Emma laughed, "Why thank you Shana but no yawning allowed." She yawned but smiled. "Yeah when's bed time?"
