Colonel stepped away from the fence. "Just let him be girls. He'll get over it soon enough." He spoke to the mares like they were people not just horses.
Destiny joined Wildfire. "I don't know but he is getting on my nerves."

"Seriously. The others are not making such a big fuss."Wildfire agreed.
Gwen giggled at how the mares were acting. She knelt down as Kavik came over. She hugged him scratching behind his ear. His large tail thumped against the ground.

"No and why would they it's not like the men are treating them horrible." Destiny lowered her head to and munched on the sweet grass that had been brought to the pasture.
Colonel smiled at Gwen's giggle. He found that he liked that sound as much as he liked the sound of wilderness at night. He placed his hand on her back, "Come on breakfast pickings are gonna get slim fast." He did not mean to hurry her and waited for her to finish.

Gwen nodded and stood. Kavik took off wherever he usually went. Gwen ran a hand through her hair brushing it out of her face. She smiled at Colonel.

He smiled back at her and pushed her gently forward. "Come on slow poke. At this rate we won't get any breakfast." Colonel's eyes glittered with his teasing and he walked toward the hall leaving Gwen behind. Glancing back over his shoulder he waved to her and grinned.
When Konoha could no longer tolerate lyeing down she stood up with a grunt, carefull not to wake Path. She limped away from him and shook herself nose to tail.

Colonel bumped her back. "I beleieve it is." His voice held a lilt at the end, one that only came when he was in a very good mood, and enjoying himself. He walked to the door which was held open for him and entered the dinning hall. The man who had been holding the door open now shut it and held it closed against so that Gwen couldn't get in.
"Ah, ah, ah I don't think you have premission to enter."
Looking around he saw that the cook and several men were hurring around to set out a table full of food. Instead of stepping in and stopping the man he let the man continue and simoly watched.

Eclipse had awakened at the sound of Kalypso's snort and stomp, but she was still lying down on the ground, her eyes closed. She had dreamt of being with her orginal birth herd, and she savored the memory.
After a short time she got up and looked around at the waking Fort, feeling apprehensive. She still didn't really trust humans, and although the other brightly colored mare seemed comfortable with them, this was not how she was used to living. She looked at Kalypso, "Did you sleep at all last night?" She paused for a moment, gathering her thoughts so that she could say this properly. "Oh, and I've been wondering, you seem different from... us physically. No offense meant, but how did you get here? Were you captured like us?" She almost added that he didn't have to talk about it if he didn't want to, but something made her stop, knowing that he would already know that.

Kalpyso turned Konoha and bade her good morning. He then turned to Eclipse. 'Good, some company...' he thought to himself, relaxing a bit. Being alone with humans made him very jumpy and ill-tempered. He sighed. "No, I didn't sleep a wink, I stayed awake....nothing I'm not used to.." he added. He then chuckled at her following question. "Yes, I know....my bloodline is pure Friesian, so obviously, that's what I am too. My mother was already concieved with me when she ran off for being abused. She lived on her own for about a year and a half. One year my being born and turning one. Then, well, it happened and she was torn from me, and I've been on my own ever since..about 8 years. Yes I was captured, and you could tell from my outburst last night I hate it here...." he had no problem talking to Eclipse, something about her made her easy to talk to. He then overheard the mares in the other paddock talking about him. He snorted and trotted over to the fence closest to them, his eyes had hardened over again, and he was mad. He reached the fence and extended up to his full 16.2 hands of height. "I would appreciate it if you wouldn't speak about me like I'm some wild, emotionless beast. I have my reasons for outburst toward your precious humans..." he said with an edge to his voice. He was breathing hard, these mares had no idea....

Destiny lifted her head and looked at the stallion over the gap in between the pens. His 16.2 hands of height did nothing to intimidate the shorter mare. "No one said anything about beasts. You would do well to leave the our humans alone." She had delt with wild horses before, had been one herself, and each time they came in and acted like the stallion they would soon be calm under saddle and following the mens cues. She swished her tail and returned her attention to Wildfire, lowering her voice, "That is going to be a fun one to watch."

Kalypso snorted again, horses like these mares had absolutely no idea of what some of the horses here had been through and why their hatred for the human race, especially his, was so strong. "Believe what you think, but if one of your humans tries to climb on my back or put any sort of contraption on me, you can expect them to be in rehab for a month or worse." he said, with that glint of hatred returning to his eyes. "I have no problem whatsoever harming them, and your constant warnings and complaints mean nothing to me..." He glanced back at Eclipse, Konoha, and Path, thinking of what they would do if humans toyed with them...

Destiny spun around to face him, she did not like his threat. Having herself been raised by Colonel she saw no reason for the wild horses to hate men and not because she did not know what it was like to be wild, she remebered the wild and her mother perfectly. "Believe what you think, Stallion." Her voice was tinted with dislike yet she did not turn away but stood with her ears back and glareing at the stallion. She had warned him off last night and would do so again if needed.

"I was caught when I was one torn from my mother and my herd. But I hae forgiven. Gwen is a good human. She treats me as an equal and gives me treats. I love her as much as I loved my mother."Wildfire said head held high looking across the fence at Kalypso.
Gwen just smirked and arched an eyebrow when the guy barred her from entering. Kavik growled at the man hackles rising. "Calm my boy"she said softly. He calmed down but continued to glare at the man.

With one last look behind her Eclipse trotted over to Kalypso at the sound of their arguing. She listened to what they both had to say, and hesitated before saying something. "I don't mean to butt in, but I think it sounds as though it might be a good idea to agree to disagree? The three of you are very set in your ways, for good reasons." She glanced at Kalypso.

"Colonel has raised me since my dam was killed by wolves. Without him I would surely not have survived." Destiny turned her solid black head towards the new palimino mare. Pulling back her agression, for she truely was not an angry horse, she simply snorted.
The man glanced down at Kavik, knowing the dog did not like half the men in the Fort. He grinned, "Okay well you have to answer a question to get in." He turned and looked at the other men specialy the cook, who was giving him the thumbs up sign. Turnning back to Gwen he recited what he had been told to say. "Your question is... What day is it?" This was a trick question as he wanted what was so important about the day not the date.
Konoha ignored the other mares and turned to Path. She dropped her head and nuzzled him.
