In the essence of not being able to recognize Loraine from any other little girl, well that was good for the seemingly nine-year-old girl. It meant, if they came across officers or people that worked here that she'd be considered a civilian rather than a criminal, which was good in itself. That had been her plan after all.
Loraine looked from the boy to the girl. Well, they spoke of Cookie like it was the food, not a person. They were confusing her. She pouted at the thought of Cookie being a person rather than an actual yummy cookie. "But I want a cookie.." she said softly before looking to the boy.
"Could we go find her, pwease?" she asked the boy, since he seemed to be in charge out of the group.

The teen grinned, thinking Loraine reminded him of one of his little sister's friends, a girl with a crush on him. "Sure thing." He held out his hand to each of the girls with a simple and charming smile. "But we have to go through the bar, alright? There's a lot of bad people in there, just don't be scared."

Trust was something that was hard to come by for the little girl. But then again she only looked little. And again, she wasn't being herself, she was playing a role. So, despite the fact that Loraine Ortega still didn't trust the boy, that didn't mean that lil' Loraine couldn't. She slowly moved over, a smile curving across her wet lips as the boy smiled at her. She took his left hand, "I'll try.." she said in answer to his don't be scared comment.

He gave her a friendly smile ((I suppose I should mention that he looks very much like the guy who played Clark Kent in Smallville, only brown hair, so think that kind of big-brotherly smile)) and offered his other hand to Haldis. "Let's go find some cookies, then."

Haldis watched them both. "You can go and get your cookies. I think I'll stay here for now." She said, her blue eyes losing focus for a moment. She turned back to look at the unconscious AC on the ground, her head slightly tilted to the side.

Jeff looked disappointed. "You sure? Don't wanna leave you out here all by yourself... I mean, you been fine so far, but with..." His eyes flicked towards A.C.

"She won't rise and attack me." Haldis said with a matter of fact voice. "You shouldn't worry so much for everyone else, the other boy was right. One survives better if they focus on oneself."

Jeff laughed. "Yeah, but I bet Hack-o's never been camping." He swung Loraine up onto his back before she knew what was happening. "Out in the wild? Nah, ya oughtta befriend the big guys, share some lunch before you cook it, and you sleep safe and warm next to a bear or ki-cat. Everyone for hisself is a bad idea, I stick by that."

Jeff shrugged, awkwardly with the child on his back. "I'm a ki-Scout For Life, lil'girl. I'm not the other. But suit yourself, I guess." He turned and headed back to the rec, calling over his shoulder, "Watch yo' back!"
((...Any bets whether Blumoo will be back before the end of the arc? I can third-person her character, shunting her here and there, but if she's not going to be back...))

As the Erebus reached the Gilgamesh, it floated around the larger ship for a moment, before choosing a point of attack. The armor was weakest at the civilian section.
Erebus bit into the Gilgamesh, and began to saw away at the shielding. The grinding noise was heard throughout the ship, like thunder and screams. It was only a matter of half an hour to an hour, before the hull would break open.
((The Gilgamesh will be destroyed from all areas except the prison section, and the bridge, both of which will automatically seal off once the hull is breached. All other areas will be unable to support human life.))

Barely had he said that when the tremor hit. Unable to keep his feet, Jeff fell sideways to the floor. Little Susie (or wait, was her name Loraine? My bad) fell tragically from his back and was hit in the back of the head by a mischievous pipe on the ground. What it was doing lying in the middle of the hallway like that, we may never know... unless it slipped out of A.C.'s pants while Jeff carried her, somehow, amazingly, unnoticed. wink

Forde slipped by some running civilians and smiled as he ducked into his room. He he dropped the bag of food and knelt down by his bunk, pulling a suitcase out from below it. He opened it to make sure everything was inside, and smiled.
Forde grabbed a syringe, flicked it a few times to get the air bubbles out, and then plunged it into his arm. He coughed a few times, and looked up at the ceiling, his eye growing wide and dilating. His lungs locked up for a moment, but then began working again, and his eyes went bloodshot. He fell forwards onto his hands, and coughed a few more times as his eyes returned to normal.
Forde smiled, and then looked outside for a passing person as he unsheathed his knife.
