"You're worrying about being a good mother," Cindy murmured softly, "That in itself speaks about something right?"
Cindy could kind of understand, she would have argued that she knew people who were excellent parents and had no parents period. Though those were her in-laws husbands of her siblings.... her male siblings.

Donovan nodded at that thought, "Sure, since we're here."
It would make sense to go through the people in the stables before going to the fighters. While they were here anyways.

"If I knew what it was that my parents lacked when I was growing up, I probably wouldn't be so anxious," Haradhel admitted. "On my mother's part, it was not love that she lacked ... love was probably the only thing she ever did for me. My father, I'm certain, lacked even that, though ... or else he had a very twisted way of showing it."
She refilled her cup and drank it all down, then glanced back at Cindy. "More?"
Elrohir nodded and led Donovan and Triton towards the stable. "It's one thing to meet their trainer," he murmured, "he's at least sane ... but the man in charge of taking care of them regularly ... well, he's something else."

"No thank you," Cindy shook her head.
She was perfectly fine with the water she had at the moment. Taking another sip she thought about it carefully, she supposed though no parent was perfect.
"You'll be fine, the fact you think about it, means you'll be fine," Cindy murmured.

Donovan had to laugh at that, just because it sounded like something else. He was sure the person in charge with the horses care wasn't something too bad.
"A bit eccentric?" he asked.

Haradhel smiled warmly. "Thank you."
She leaned back in her chair and laughed softly. "You have no idea how nice it is to have another woman to talk to," she murmured with a smile. "Ulani has her own house to take care of, so she doesn't come around often ... and Aliya, while she is a young woman now ... well, I just can't have these sorts of talks with her, she's too fidgety to sit and have a conversation for more than about three seconds at a time, it seems."
Which was slightly disappointing, because really Aliya was the only woman here remotely close to Haradhel's age.
Elrohir hummed and hawed over Donovan's question as he led them into the stables, then shrugged. "You might say that, yes," he replied finally.
The stable was empty of horses now: all of them had been sent out into the paddock for the day. But there were a few elves mucking the stalls, and one who was watching over them.

The elf who was watching over the others who were working was about Donovan's height, and for an elf he was rather bulky - but his bulk was solid muscle. He had short-cropped, yellow-blond hair and sea-blue eyes that were bright and eager.
When he heard the group entering the stable, he looked up curiously and headed over to meet them.
"Good morning, Lord Elrohir!" he called brightly, smiling widely as he joined the group. "Who is all of this?"

Cindy chuckled at that, she didn't know how much time had passed but if she thought about it, Aliya was a young woman technically speaking. After all Feng was technically that age as well. so it should not surprise her.
"This sort of thing, wouldn't interest her quite yet," Cindy mused thoughtfully, "I guess there aren't that many people to talk to around here?"

If Donovan had to describe first impressions summed up in one word he would have chosen outgoing. He was a happy sort of person, willing to greet others with a smile. Not the same as Feng, Feng was over the time, perhaps he thought Kara had been like that at one time.
Actually sometimes Kara was still like that.
He sorted though the melee of personalities that came to mind, until he settled on one. The man, brightly greeting them reminded him of Yukito.

Haradhel smiled mischievously. "You'd be surprised," she laughed. "Aliya is after all of marrying age now, and she has her fair share of admirers. Only one, I believe, is serious ... I feel sorry for the poor man, she's so clueless ..."
She shook her head, still laughing softly.
"But she talks about breeding the horses with the same excitement as I talk about expecting a child myself," she went on. "I'm sure that if she ever gets married - as I'm certain she will, and not very far into the future, either - she'll be just the same."
Her smile softened a bit. "As for people to talk to ... there are many people, but ... talking with them means keeping them from their work. And I also have my own work to do, so really ..."
She sighed. "Well, soon enough we'll have to hire some permanent help for the house as well," she murmured, smiling faintly. "Then I'll have conversation enough ... though I don't know how much work I'll be allowed to do then. I don't know how well you know Elrohir, but ... he's rather overprotective at times."
Elrohir grinned at the elf. "Good morning, Elberon," he replied kindly. "This is our employer and two of his children ... Donovan Lau, Triton Winters, and Lin."

"Oh, wonderful!" Elberon smiled warmly. He grinned. "It's about time you came to see us, eh? Two years here already and only just finding out who I'm working for." He laughed, a deep hearty chuckle. "Ah well."
He glanced at Elrohir. "Aye, you were right, my Lord. They're no ordinary humans." He looked all of them over. "This one" -he indicated Donovan- "is simply too well dressed. I bet he even knows how to speak."
His gaze moved to Triton. "And you ..." He laughed. "Wow. Yeah, cat person indeed. If I hadn't been warned I wouldn't believe my eyes." He winked at Triton. "You're a lucky one. Normally I'd be asking for proof that those ears of yours are real."

Cindy nodded in agreement, despite the fact Gaia's marrying age was normally in mid to late twenties (as her mother had proven), it was awfully common to marry quickly still among some people.
"But first she has to realize she has admirers I take it?"
There was a wrly smile in which Cindy realized that Aliya was also very much like many people in her family.

Lin lifted herself up from Donovan's pocket so she could get a better look at him. She giggled, because she had never heard anyone be that forward (she herself did not count).
"He's funny," she told Donovan.
Donovan blinked, "Lin, you don't say things like that to people's faces."
Even though he would agree, but not in the same funny way that Lin meant. He finally decided that the man was like Yukito without bounderies. No wonder why Elrohir said that the man was a bit odd.

Somehow, Triton imagined him and Feng in the same room and never shutting up.
"Would you now?" Triton asked in return though he smiled.
Admittedly though he was caught completely off guard by Elberon. He supposed he was use to people being more.. .reserved in a way.

Haradhel laughed. "I don't know if she would realize it unless they went up to her and told her to her fa- no, even then she wouldn't know." She laughed again and shook her head. "HalmÃr, one of the fighters here, has a fondness for her. I'm certain it's not that he's infatuated or anything, but ... he showers her with compliments and she laughs it all off as a joke, she doesn't take him seriously at all."
She paused. "Then again," she amended, "I might not either. It's just the way he is. The biggest problem is, the one person who I believe truly loves her ... is far too shy to say anything about it."
She shrugged. "Well, we'll see what time brings. She is still young, after all." She smiled.
Elrohir couldn't help but chuckle at Elberon, and Donovan and Triton's reactions.
"You should have seen him when Haradhel and I first arrived," he murmured, standing back to enjoy the situation.
