Lena smiled as he kissed her. "What kind of things...?" she asked, as she started to unwrap her sandwich.

Shinji smiled as he looked to Lena, watching her watchin him. Lots of things...The differences between here and home, mostly...he said, looking to his lap, frowning at realizing his sammich fell apart in his lap due to his distractions. He laughed softly as he put it back together, and reminded himself he was lucky it was still half in the baggie. I just think it's beautiful out here...and back home all we had was a garden.

Lena nodded "It was actually quite a lot like it is here, back home... so while I do think it's very pretty... I guess I probably don't appreciate it quite as much..."

Anywhere.
She'd go anywhere to get away from An Meng Kuan. That crazy girl was so hell bent on getting her out of the water and back into the air, it was driving her nuts. She barely remembered how to fly! And so, for all her scurrying below the ocean's surface, she squeezed into the nearest crevice she could find...which happened to lead her to a lake that she had been not too long ago. Her entire body shivered at the sudden change of salt to saltless, instinctively pumping her tail and to quicken her water-bent slithering.
Too fast. Too far. She crashed into shore.

With a wicker basket slung over one arm and an axe over his shoulder, Yi Xian made his way to the lake. A tunless whistle escaped him and the wolf blinked when he heard a dull thud against the sands. He looked over and raised a furry eyebrow at the seadragon. Was it simply because she was a girl or that she was a fish that she was so scatterbrained enough to crash into the shore. Honestly the last time he'd seen someone do that was when he was babysitting the runt pups of his sister's last batch of kids. Eyes half closed they'd stumbled around into everything. It was endearing but annoying to the ears to hear them whine when they fell down to the ground. Perhaps she was just young and that was why she was making such a fool of herself? It was quite possible but he would --
KATHACK.
A tree... how inconvenient.
"Itai..."

She groaned - more in disgust than in pain. Her entire body hit the cooler air of the upper world, causing her to push herself upright, brows furrowing. Using her forearm, she shoved her water laden hair from her eyes, at the same time licking her lips.
To taste sand. Grimy, grainy sand.
Odette coughed.
But the action came close to choking at the loud noise Yi Xian had created when formally introducing himself to the tree. Head snapping upwards, she gave a wary blink, catching him just after he fell back. And she stared.
And stared...and stared.
And before she knew what she was doing, before fear of the upper lands set in, she burst out laughing. Loud, raucous laughter, so hard she bent forward to shut her eyes.
"Ah...! Graceful! Real graceful!" she crowed, sliding back down and biting into the back of her hand. Like she had been an ounce graceful just a moment earlier...

Yi Xian growled at the voice, the laughter easy on his sensetive ears. He looked over at the sea dragon-girl and swiveled so he was on his knees, hands on his hips as an eyebrow twitched in irritation. His dark fur began to stand on end and the wolf suppressed a howl.
"Oh watch it fish breath! I might get in the mood for sushi!"

Shinji nodded slowly and let his eyes fall shut as he set the sandwhich aside. something about being outside made him feel light, almost as though he were in a dream.

Odette whooped one more time before finally quieting down, brushing the back of her hand over her lashes. Oh man, that had made her side hurt and she was still having trouble gathering both her breath and wits about her. A small grin peeled her sandy lips apart, her eyes glowing with such a bright, mocking amusement.
He looked kind of funny to her...then again, she'd never seen anything as furry as he. Or with such large ears. A feature she was going to ask about had her thoughts not been cut off by his angry threat.
Her brow quirked, "Excuse me, furball?" - she didn't even know what sushi was, but she wasn't about to let him know that! - "I'm not a Sushi!"
Oh yeah. Nice.

Yes quite the large ears, all the better to hear your insults with biggrin
His ears flicked down to cradle near his head and the furry goth made his way over to the shore, his large boots nearly making him stumble before he could get over and leer over the sea dragon. It wasn't often he ran into mythical lolitas and while his curiosity was peeked he was trying to hold onto his anger long enough to have a good arguement.
"Oh yes you are shark bait! I could cut you up nice and put you next to some calamari." Yi Xian cackled and went to his knees on the shore, putting his nose right up to hers so he could stare her directly in the eyes and try to disturb her further. His tail wagged behind him mercilessly until his entire behind was shaking with the movement. "What's your name anyway fish girl?"

Leathery wings flared outward in response to his approach, wary apprehension ghosting over her features. The muscles in her tail and arms may have tensed, but she refused to shove herself back into the safety of the water. Oh no, she took this as a challenge and she didn't feel like backing down.
Her small nose curled at his words, anger mingling briefly with her amusement. She wasn't about to retreat, even as he came so close. Odette's stormy gaze glared heatedly up at him, her lips tugging into a severe frown.
"Well, it is not fishgirl," she more or less snapped, touchy about being called such a thing. Stupid land dweller...how dare he! "It happens to be Odette, you overgrown otter."

His shock nearly made him face plant into the sand and the wolf was forced to back off a step in order to continue their staring contest. His yellow eyes were alight with delight and malice as he stared her down. He'd not met someone with her way with words since he was at home and while it was a bit endearing it was also kind of... a pain in the tail.
"I am not an otter you sea-weed brained kelp eater! Odette... like the princess that pissed off the witch and got cursed into the form of a swan?"

ShtrDrNGry Shinji nodded slowly and let his eyes fall shut as he set the sandwhich aside. something about being outside made him feel light, almost as though he were in a dream. Lena sat quietly eating and looking over the lake. She noticed a couple of others seemed to now be around, but she didnt' pay them much attention.

Shinji shook his head slightly, returning to reality to overhear some comment about odette. He didn't know who they were, so he merely shrugged his shoulders and shook his head again before looking to Lena and smiling softly. I don't know why, but I crave an apple now.. he laughed, blushing softly
