Earendil grinned. "Do you remember when we played Stalking for the first time?" he asked her. "How the flower that I gave you lit up a trail for you to follow me? If you'd like I can leave a permanent trail that only the flowers will be able to show, and you can use the flowers to get through without getting lost."

"I remember," Lin replied, it was the most unusual thing and she recalled that even Earendil was surprised with that.

She smiled brightly, that would be an excellent idea, so she didn't always have to worry about finding a way out.

"I'd like that a lot."

"Well," Lore mused as he moved his hand from hers and wrapped his arm around hers instead, "Maybe we'll run into them. I do recall, Lin wanted to find Earendil first."

Elnara nodded and walked closer to Lore. "I just can't help but wonder what everyone's doing," she murmured. "The youngest four were still schooling when I was here last ... but they'll all have their own jobs now, I'm sure."

Though, when she thought about it, she could only think of two of her brothers' professions. Riordan had been a leathersmith - what was he doing now that he had been outcast? - and Ruel had been a metallurgist.

"Perhaps we should check the studies," she suggested. "They're on the second floor, but if there's any sort of paperwork that anyone will be doing, that's where they would be."

Earendil smiled broadly as they approached another wall. "Well then," he nodded, "when it comes time for you to leave, I'll leave a special trail, and we'll see if that works."

The question of course would be whether or not the trail would remain for the possible years between her visits - he knew for a fact that the trail he had first left for her, when they had first played Stalking, was long gone.

He held up one hand to the wall. His hand glowed blue, and a star appeared on a section of the wall that swung silently inwards. He stepped out into the bright sunlight and closed the wall behind himself.

He wasn't surprised to his mother just in front of him, painting yet another canvas, but he was a little surprised to see his cousin, Serenity, there as well.

"Hello," he said, his tone one of surprise.

Luthien looked up from her work and smiled. "Hello, Earendil. I see Lin's found you again." She waved. "Hello, Lin!"

Lin waved back happily both at Luthien and at Serenity to the point where it looked like her arm might fall off. Being happy made her a tad hyper though it was hard to tell with someone like Lin.

"Hello!" she smiled, "I came back, this time Daddy knew. He gave me a set rules before I went though," she made a funny face, "Serenity are you going to paint too?"

"Good idea," Lore replied back, "Lead the way... since well..." he chuckled a bit looking around, "I don't know the way... it's so big. This place."

He was glad that she was willing to seek people out, even though that was the point of the visit, she had been so worried about coming before.

Elnara laughed. "It's too big, I sometimes think," she replied with amusement. "But I think that just goes along with it being a castle - it has to be big. It's like Nako being so different when she's just with the family, and when she's actually doing work. She can't afford to let people see her soft side, really, or her weak side, because it would only result in a loss of respect. Same for the castle - size inspires awe which inspires respect, which ... Nako has always had to fight for."

She nodded towards a large oaken door that was in the corner of the end of the hall. "There's the stair tower."

Serenity waved back to Lin, smiling widely. "I don't think yet," she replied softly. "I want to watch Aunt Luthien first. Maybe later, though. I brought my paints with me, just in case."

"Hi Serenity!" Storm called from way up on Earendil's shoulder. "Look how high up I am! Just as high as when I'm on Papa!" He giggled and spread his wings, showing off.

Luthien laughed at Lin as Earendil set all three of the children on the ground.

"I'm glad you finally have permission!" she giggled. "Did your father come this time as well? Or did you come with Elnara and Lore?"

Earendil blinked. "They were here already?"

Luthien nodded. "You just missed them. I think they went to wander around the castle and run into people at random. It's probably a good thing your father's still working, but dinner is going to be interesting, to say the least."

Lin shook her head, "Nope! Daddy had to go to Borderlands he said he has to do work, but Cindy went with him to study all the plants there," she explained, "Maybe I can go there too next time too!"

She hadn't seen Serenity in a while so that would be fun too. Lin paused looking suddenly thoughtful.

"Why will dinner be interesting? Isn't it always interesting?"

"Yes, well the point of a castle is to be big," Lore nodded, "And they hold a good amount of workshops among other things, I should not be surprised."

He followed her nodding at the fact that is where they were going to go, towards the stair tower.

"It does not make it any easier though."

They entered the tower, and Elnara started leading Lore up the stairs.

"It doesn't," she agreed. "Because as much as it intimidates most people, it also intimidates me. It always has, and probably always will." She paused thoughtfully. "Probably from always getting lost in my aunt's castle when I was little, when I lived with her for a while."

"Because we have so many extra guests, of course!" Luthien laughed. She started painting again, long, broad strokes of pale blue mixed with white to imitate the desert sky.

"Perhaps if you do visit the Borderlands," she smiled, "Earendil might be there as well, visiting his grandmother."

Earendil grinned. He would love that.

"You got lost in your aunt's castle?" Lore had to inquire on that, he hadn't been aware she had been in other castles.

Much less there were other members of her family in others part, but then again when he really thought about it, it did make sense.

"Oh yea..." Lin was so use to so many people she forgot that to people here there was a lot of new people.

Well, at least she thought everyone would have fun.

"Then everyone can meet Elnara and Lore and everyone."
