I've been rereading the redwall series....I know thier for kids...but I own a few of them from gradeschool, and I love them...

They actually are good novels, despite the fact that all the characters are animals... XP

it was actually kinda weird...I kept going "awww" because it was...like...re-meeting old friends!!!

I didn't have many other friends in gradeschool...I was very booky...

I'm re-reading Diane Duane's marvelous So You Want to be a Wizard, Deep Wizardry, (has one of the most harrowing scenes ever; only Harry's walk into the Forest in book 7 has hit me as hard) and the spectacular, jaw dropping jump up and down and cheer, (but slightly dated(the computer du jour is an Apple iic) High Wizardry. There's more in the series, but those 3 are my favorites. Diane says one of the signs is wizardary is taking a book to bed at night... sounds like a real Ravenclaw!

Today's Question: Where are your greatest strengths?
My greatest strengths? One might be my artistic ability, though that depends on the person's opinion. I still don't think I'm that good at drawing humans with a mouse, really- as you can see from my signature. Another might have to be... I'm not to horrible of a writer, but usually my ideas don't really blossom into anything cool (like fanfics!), so that's also debatable. My biggest is probably my ability to rant for several pages a bout nothing in general, which you can see, I am already doing. D:

*dances* I was sorted into Ravenclaw. biggrin I'm very happy right now.

I've read nearly all the redwall books. Only a few I havn't read, because the school library didn't have them, and my friend couldn't lend me from the public library. I like them though, and I don't think they're actually childish- teenager-ish, maybe. They're a bit advanced for anyone younger, depending on their vocab and understanding.

I'm booky myself, and my friends are booky too. We all latch onto a series of books, and one person gets to check them out from the library/buy them, and then we all take turns reading the books. :3 I'm a fast reader, so I'm usually one of the first to read, or the last. I remember one series of books (fame, fortune, found, family, forever, they're church-y books but awesome) where my one friend bought the first, and we all read it. Every time a new book came out, we all read it. I ended up buying the last book of the series, and everyone drooled over it for the last few weeks of school. It was awesome.

Y'know- we could start a book club or something. Find a long fanfic, Harry Potter, of course, and have everyone read it, then review, discuss, etcetera.

Or book challenges- I used to do them with my friends at school. We'd give ourself a goal- 10,000 pages, and start reading books. Then we'd keep track of each and review them, till we reached our goal. It was a fun way to keep ourselves reading.

eh...if I have a subject and some pictures to use. My scanner sucks, and I'm crap with the mouse...

I once made a Doctor Who banner on Paint. It was adorably(to me) crappy....

here it is!!!

I could do better with more space, time, and a working scanner....

I like your ideas!!!
I usually just find books in the library....I don't have many bookish friends, but I hope that will change....

One of my friends borrowed Deathly Hallows from me....I called her last week to get it back...and her mum said she was gone for the next month....*rips apart phonebook* AARRRGGGG!!!!!!

biggrin Thanks for the compliment. Personally, I don't like how my humans look mouse-drawn, I;m much better on paper.

I didn't use the school library at all last year, suprisingly- the year before I had books checked out to the max every time, and I was in the library daily looking for new ones. I kind of read through all the good library books. I couldn't really use the library anyway, because they had a book checked out in my name from the year before, even though I've never heard of the book. D: My friends checked out books for me etcetera. I love my bookish friends.

Haha, that year, instead of library books, I google'd fanfictions and etcetera. And, I had a site, where I was reading a trilogy of books. I read from the beginning of the first to the last book, as it was being read. Only recently, the first book was published. I'm happy I've already read it, because my mom wouldn't buy it for me. *had some bedroom scenes* biggrin I'mm a perv, but it was a good read, so ehhh.

I read Deathly Hallows in a day, and spent the next week re-reading it over my mom's shoulder. I have to read books several times in a row, it's like an impulse with me. Haha.

Sorry about your copy, though. I'd die if my friends kept my books. Which reminds me- I'm going to have to get after one of them when school's back- she borrowed one of my books the last week of school and kept it during summer to finish it. My friends and I don't really keep in touch over the summer, so I'm mourning the loss of my copy. Can't remember what one it was, though. Ha.

Congrats on 2nd Year, fourtysecondscarf! (btw, do you have anything else you go by? fourtysecondscarf seems a bit long. You have a nickname?)

er....I guess just call me Scarfie or scarf....I'll know who your talkin bout....

I would like to read this trilogy of books! You said there was a website?? Give a link! (woooohoo!!!)

yeah...the worst part about the book-stealing friend....She's not going to the same High school!!!!

So I can't get it back.....(crys)

My greatest strengths are probably the fact that I am a very empathic and loyal person. I'm also very creative and artistic.

Anyways, Hi! I was just sorted a bit ago, and I'm fairly new to the guild xD;
I've always seen myself as some sort of mixbreed of Gryfindor and Ravenclaw, sort of like Hermione, but I relate to Ravenclaw a little more. Good to be here!

After I get done listening to book seven (I haven't picked up a copy, and my father happened to have a copy of it on audio so he gave it to me.) I plan on going to the library and picking up some psychology books to read for awhile. I need a break from fiction and I find psychology horribly fascinating.

Oooh! me like! I like psychology as well as Theology..but unfortunatly...I'm a bit too underexperianced to actually understand them all that well...I have a better grasp than most teens though...

Same here really xd I'm not going to pretend I understand every word of it, but I still think it's absolutely fascinating.
PostPosted: Tue Aug 14, 2007 7:25 am

biggrin Haha. I've got a bit of an interest in psychology too, but I havn't read any books in awhile. I don't really go to the libraries, which is completely mental, because I'm a huge bookworm.

Congrats on getting sorted into Ravenclaw, Oraiste`! Half-and-Half or not, we still want you here. :3

About the website. The trilogy is awesome, it's a fantasy one. But, I don't think the second book is online anymore, and the first was removed ages ago when she began publishing. It's fanstory.net, but I'm, trying to remember the name of the author. See, when she began publishing her first book, she had to take it off the internet. Fanstory.net is a site where you can write your book/poetry/whatever, and people review it. So, I don't think the entire trilogy is still online. I'll try to find a link to the book though, and the author.

;.; I feel your sorrow. I have a friend who isn't going to be going to school with me anymore. Her younger brother was getting teased horribly, so she pulled both of them out to homeschool them. Can you friend mail it to you in a package, if possible? If worst comes to worst, you can buy another copy and guard it with your life.

Off to find the links, now!

Edit:Links
Amazon.com - Griffin's Duaghter (book 1)
Fanstory.com Link (author)
Griffin's Destiny - Book 3
Book two isn't online, so I can only conclude that it's being published at the moment.
Author's name is Leslie Ann More

Thank you Phreise! That's very sweet of you :3

I've always thought about writing my own fiction series, I actually have a few incomplete plots and characters floating around in my head but I haven't been able to put together a full story as of yet.
