It was one of those rogue rings that bonded to Superman before you arrived here, Lois. A blue one, in fact.
Luthor found use for that one as well. He used it's power to offset the side effects of the orange ring. It was ingenious.

I do not hold you personally responsible for the massive destruction and ultimately, the death of Tad Ryerstad that those rings caused, Miri Riam.
You are obviously far down the chain of command and ignorant as your answers have revealed. To blame someone insignificant in the larger schemes of things would be illogical.

Almost all of them have been recovered and destroyed at this point in the most effective way possible - Bismollian digestion.
The power sources, though...those remain an item of interest to me. I have done experiments...but they are not a topic of discourse at this point.

Though your opinion in itself is lovely. Answer me something Querl. If someone asked you for the time in which you lived, the planet, and then asked for the frequency of any protection your world may have, would you give it?

The term "my world" is inaccurate. My homeworld does not want me there.
Your question is stupid. If someone asked me for the time in which I lived, it is the Thirty-first century, easy enough for anyone on my ADOPTED planet Earth to discern. And if they wanted to know transparently what the Legion does to protect it, that information is freely given. We cooperate with everyone. I find it reprehensible for one of them to come strolling in here talking about repairing broken hearts and acting heroic when none of ANY of the Lanterns have ever attempted to take responsibility for the atrocities that took place because of those rings. The closest we have ever come was the time Hal Jordan broke into my lab to try to recover them long after they were already destroyed.
In the Legion, we make prospective candidates have a tryout so that we can judge their skills and personality before allowing them onto our team. I do not feel that the Lanterns, no matter the color, vet their candidates at all.
Feel hopeful? Have a blue ring! Get angry? A red ring finds you whether you want it or not. Do you 'inspire fear,' whatever that truly means? A yellow ring for you. And the violet ones are maybe the worst of all. They manipulate you through love you have lost.
How do you know if what that ring fills in your heart is your own feeling or someone else manipulating you?
