::catches it in mid-air and turns the switch on the front::

Thanks. I was wondering where this had wandered off too, now that my girls weren't all anchored to the bookstore.

I was going to leave it at your place but no one seems to know where you stay. Oh well.

A nice little bungalow on the outskirts of town.

::spins around lazily on the chair::

You think I put it there to cause trouble.

Considering the condition that we found Powell in I'd say it was more of a prank. Isn't that more of a Trickster type of thing?

Don't you dare mention hi-

::Opens his mouth to say something about the Trickster, stops himself and starts again::

Oh no, it wasn't a prank at all, more like an experiment. I like Christopher. Chassy and I observed how animals in the Nexus seemed to be attracted to him. This device-

::holds it up and flips open the top::

Is a sonic modulator. I altered it to act like, essentially, a pet whistle. The Pet Signal. It basically alerted anything with a higher hearing function than a human that it was..."interesting." So some stray animals in the Nexus got to spend time indoors warm, dry and fed by Chris. We thought it WOULD be humorous for him to wonder where all these animals suddenly came from, sure...

But the pets swarming Powell...that's some sort of special power all of his own, amplifying strangeness in the Nexus. I'm no Brainiac, but surely you've noticed it. Anything that happens around here he seems to get slammed five times as hard.

Well...communicating, at least. I'm still a terrible villain.

::Lois stifles a yawn::

Being a villain is overrated anyways. Why on earth would you want to do that?

Deep seated parental issues and an unresolved manic-depression leading to reckless behavior as a guise for suicide.

Or so my therapist says. But I am much better these days.

I'll pass word to Brainy about your experiment. I'm sure he'd love to know about it.

It's always parental issues, isn't it? I'm glad you're doing better, at any rate.
PostPosted: Sat May 15, 2010 10:57 pm

It's ALWAYS parents. I became a thief and a rogue because mommy and daddy tried to push me into a mold I didn't fit in and threw scads of money at the problems I had until they went away. It wasn't so easy for them once I started dressing up in polka dots and robbing banks, though they managed to save their reputations by paying off the police and giving me a false identity in their systems.

Of course, I realize now that they weren't to blame alone...I take responsibility for my own actions and I paid my debt to society. I've been in prison and in the mental ward.

Sounds like you have quite the story. You should write a book one day.

Pfhah, I can barely write a paragraph if it's not music. That's why I'm working on a rock opera that will be absolutely nothing like 'Tommy.'

It's also why I'm not really going to be able to help the green kid with any project he has about Christopher...it's not like I took any empirical data or anything. I just turned on the Pet Signal, observed that it did indeed attract pets, and called it good.
