Bakura's father studied Rei suspiciously. It wasn't uncommon for strangers to come to the village, but he still didn't trust them. There were any number of reasons for her to be here, and a lot of them he didn't like. "So are you just passing through, or what?" He asked gruffly, holding his son in a loose grip.

"A woman doesn't wander." The man said with a sneer. He had a bit of an attitude. "She belongs at home. Especially with children. I expect you've, what, ran away from a husband and taken with you his children? You should be stoned. If you get caught, that's what'll happen." He stroked Bakura's hair, because his son as beginning to get a pouty look on his face. Bakura relaxed, resting against his father's chest and sucking his thumb. "Why are you really here?"

“What?!” Akhenaden listened to what his servants, his fellow magicians, told him. The foreign armies had crossed into the land. The threat of war had now become real. Being the pharaoh’s priest and brother, he knew he would have to go and give Akhenamkhanen an idea as to what to do. That meant…
“But… you three know what he’ll say. The pharaoh doesn’t approve of unneeded cruelty. He won’t approve.” Akhenaden knew what they were all thinking. After hundreds of years, they had managed to decipher an ancient tome given to them, as they believed, by the sun god Ra and had been passed along from pharaoh to pharaoh.
They knew how to make seven treasures that would allow them to summon gods and demons. It required a blood sacrifice, because to get the treasures they would have to create gold. The pharaoh would not like the idea of demons and gods being summoned, nor would he like the idea of sacrifice to get the items. “To lie to the pharaoh… we would be killed if he found out.” “Yes, but what other choice does Egypt have?” The three magicians had kept quiet while Akhenaden worked this out in his mind. “We have no more men left to fight. If the enemy comes, they will take over the palace and the land. They will have the powers to obtain the seven items! It would be better if we had it, clearly. What the pharaoh does not know cannot hurt him.”
Akhenaden sighed heavily, getting to his feet. “I will suggest it to the pharaoh. If he agrees… then, tonight, we must get this job done with. One of you must locate a village suitable for sacrifice. Make sure it is far away enough so that the pharaoh will not hear of it. Make it small enough so that everyone can be killed. There must be no survivors.”

"Gone? As in dead? Because if he isn't dead, then you need to be at whatever pit you two must have lived in and wait for him. A woman needs to learn her place." He snorted, and his wife just rolled her eyes, shaking her head slightly.

[Hmm. Maybe. But his father isn't really like him.]
"Keep it in mind. I hope you don't plan on staying here for long. As long as you're paying and all, I'm fine, but our house is too small for three extra people." Bakura father patted his son on the head. "Now, son, you keep in mind what's been said. Don't ever wind up with a wife like her, you got me? You need someone who will stay at home and produce children and food for you. You also need someone nice to ********. She has to be good in bed." "Hey!" Bakura's mother leaned over, whapping her husband on the head. "He's too young to be thinking about a wife, much less knowing about that. Watch what you say!" Bakura obviously didn't know what that meant; he still had an innocent, wide-eyed look.

Rei just shook her head. Rei agreed with bakuras mother, he was way to young to know any of that. Of corse she would never say she was good in bed. Not openly. Bakura had told her so before but it wasent somthing she talked about.

Bakura father laughed, seeing no harm in anything, and nudged Bakura off of his lap, telling him to go get some water. Bakura nodded and scampered off, taking with him a clay jug to fill from the well. "You're too protective of that child, wife." "I just think you're being too vulgar." The mother responded with a slight sniff, before getting to her feet. "I'll go and ready the beds. Bakura may have to sleep outside if there isn't enough room to separate the mats."

“…we have seven days until they reach the palace.” Akhenaden had gone to the throne room and told the pharaoh of the bad news. The king sat on his throne, his head bowed slightly as he took in the news. Everything passed smoothly for Akhenaden and his magicians. They told the pharaoh of the finished translation, of how it could help them. “What?!” The pharaoh’s eyes were widened when he heard that the book had been deciphered. “Is that true, Akhenaden?” Akhenaden glanced briefly at the three magicians, then nodded, keeping his emotions hidden. “The tome describes a form of magic called shadow alchemy. It changes…” Here he hesitated, then continued flawlessly, “…worthless objects… into precious metals. The book tells how to make seven treasures, each of which grants mysterious powers.” The pharaoh looked amazed, only hearing about the treasures. Akhenaded continued, gaining strength. “I, the philosopher Akhenaden, and these three magicians…” He gestures towards his companions. “…have already made the preparations to perform this shadow alchemy.” The pharaoh was quiet. To unleash such a power on the world could bring disaster. But… there was little time to think. He had to act! “How long will it take?” He asked his brother, looking Akhenaden in the eye. The answer came readily. Seven days… He had no choice. The foreign troops would be at the palace at that time. Standing up, he clenched his hands into fists. “I entrust the fate of Egypt to the seven treasures!”

Rei letting the two argure steped around. Seeing as kek wasgetting fuzzy she started to singsoftly. She still had the voice of an angel as she did many years ago. "I'm so tired of being here Suppressed by all my childish fears And if you have to leave I wish that you would just leave 'Cause your presence still lingers here And it won't leave me alone
These wounds won't seem to heal This pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have All of me
You used to captivate me By your resonating light Now I'm bound by the life you left behind Your face it haunts My once pleasant dreams Your voice it chased away All the sanity in me
These wounds won't seem to heal This pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have All of me
I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone But though you're still with me I've been alone all along
When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have All of me"

It was dark out, so Bakura felt confident in watching Rei. He hid in the shadow of a building, holding the water jug carefully. He had heard the women sing when washing clothes or just working, but had never heard this song before.

A tear ran down her cheak as she finished singing. Kek had fallen back asleep. She gently brushed femi's hair out of her face "you look so much like your daddy..." she said softly. Femi did look just like a baby bakura. She had violet eyes, white hair and tan skin. Kek had that was well only he had his mothers red eyes. Another tear exscaped running down her cheak. She missed her bakura so much. She just had to deal with the fact that her bakura was gone yet agian. She tried hard not to cry as she sat there watching her children sleep.

[When should I have the attack? -is excited about slaughtering the village-]
Bakura crept out of his hiding place, going over to Rei. He thought he should have left her alone because she was obviously upset about something, but he also thought he should try to comfort her. He was very hesitant as he sat next to Rei. "Why are you crying?"
