KBiT
You never forget your first time.

Now he had no comparison for that statement, having never asked another if they remembered their first time; there was only his own personal experiences with time travel.

He'd been maybe sixteen at the time; a scrawny gangly teenager ranking pretty damn low on his resident high schools social structure. Maybe it was just the shock of his first jump that caused him to remember it so vividly. He'd been getting harassed, he couldn't even remember who it was, maybe it was three of them. He was running for dear life, guess schoolyard bullying seemed pretty life and death when it's happening to you. He rounded a corner, wishing to be anywhere but right where he was, and BAM! Suddenly it was night, and he was in what looked to be an alleyway. Behind him was not a corner, but a solid brick wall; the same brick that seemed to line the alley he was in, the ground was made by some sort of poorly-laid cobble.

He banged against the wall he'd just somehow come through, solid as, well, a brick wall. With no other choice he'd ventured down the alley into the darkened street beyond. A nearby street sign read a familiar name, but none of this was familiar, not even in the slightest.

Then the world ended.

Explosions ripped through the buildings around him; he didn't even remember diving back into the alleyway as all along the street things were blowing up. He raced back to the end of the alleyway, banging against the wall that kept him here, his ears ringing from the sounds of the blasts, all around him the walls shock.

That was where the memory ended, maybe you don't really remember you're first time, unless it was quite traumatic. He later found out what had happened; the street he had been on had in fact blown up, over half a century ago, when the Germans bombed London.

Guess you really should be careful what you wish for.

That would not be the last time such a thing happened to him. As he grew up, Charles Mason would have several more episodes of what could only be called time travel. He could remember a few, but definitely not all of them, and none of them as vividly as his first time. It could have happened yesterday, it could have happened over half a century ago.

Time was a funny thing like that.

What was also funny was how, after that day, he suddenly became a wiz at world history.

~~~
So where and when am I now? he wondered to himself, the easy answer to that question was to see what was happening around him. The air smelled salty, he was near an ocean. The sounds of hustle and bustle filled his ears, he was near people. It was a town, well most likely what passed as a city in this time period.
"Excuse me? I don't mean to bother you but could you give me the news?" He asked a local man; the chances of him speaking English were nil but Charles had learned long ago that whatever force that allowed him to cross time and space also allowed him to cross barriers of communication. It was best to ask for news rather than where or when you were, you were more likely to get an answer.
The man gave an excited answer, almost exclaiming it to the world.
"So the Princes of Troy have returned... Guess the Greeks aren't too far away then" Charles muttered; why were all his accidental travels -always- to periods of strife and war? At least he wasn't ankle deep in Black Death again.
"Excuse me again, do you know where I could get some food?"
Well, that was different from the normal Rp examples I see. I don't really have any complaints. It was actually a fun read for me. You pass.
Haru walks down the street and as he comes to the corner three men step in front of him. The taller one snears and pointing a knife at him says "Be good and give us your-" Before he can finish his sentance Haru plants a size 10 boot in his face. Haru glares at the men and speaking in a angry tone says "Move! NOW!!!" The other two stand for a moment and suddenly charge him like wild animals. Haru spins on the ball of his foot and knocks them both out. He shakes his head saying "Kids these days." and walks off slowly.
Pass. Could possibly beef it up a bit though.
My character's name will be Emi Sayuri~
Example:
Emi hummed to herself despite the sweltering heat of the midday in Suna, a bounce in her step. Despite being on her way to her Kazekage's office to get her latest mission, she couldn't find a reason to complain. Waving to a nearby security guard as she passed the tower's entrance, Emi began her ascent up the steps, ready for whatever mission her Kazekage had in mind.
Yuzuki landed quickly on one of the sturdy tree limbs, overlooking the clearing ahead of her. Brushing the few stray strands of black hair that escaped her ponytail away from her face her eyes fixed on her target in front of her. Her sensei stood in the middle of the clearing, raising his left hand over his head to signal that their test had started.
"Just land one blow on him...even a scratch means I pass he said," she muttered softly to herself, while fishing a couple of kunais out of her hostler. Biting on her lower lip she quickly gauged the distance before taking aim and throwing three kunais in her sensei's direction. All three were fairly close to each other, aimed right between his shoulder blades. She could taste victory as the kunais hit her target, only for her sensei to disappear in a cloud of smoke and a small log with three kunais embedded into it fell to the ground.
She held back a swear as she scanned the area, wondering where he could have gone...that was until she felt cool steel against her neck. "Next time move after you throw. You give anyway your position too quickly if you keep doing it the way you are now." She relaxed slightly, knowing her sensei got the better of her, she only nodded her head softly, "Okay Sensei."
This was going to be a long test, she could just feel it already.
Pass. I just have one thing though. You can't control other people in normal rp but, obviously this is a little different considering you don't have anyone to rp with for this portion. I think you did a good job. So, yeah Pass. Welcome to the guild.
Eyes watching the starry sky above, arms stretched comfortably to either side, and legs hanging over the ledge of the tall standing home's roof, Sai contemplated the events of the day. He was closing in on the last classes of his two years of the ninja academy, the entire day had been filled with hooting of excited classmates and congratulations from various adults he had never met before. Everyone was overjoyed for the next generation of genin, everyone.... but his brother.
Born a twin in body and age but not of mind, his brother Sorain was always such a... a.. butthead. Always upset and suspicious, never smiling lest something bad happened to him. In fact, the only times he could remember Sorain smiling or laughing was when he was publicly humiliated, shown up in a competition, or anything else that spelled out failure for him. It was the only thing that brought joy to the annoying brat.
A light sigh pressed through his thin lips as he pulled his arms over his head and stretched the sleeping muscles. Oh well, he thought to himself, I wont let that old prune ruin my excitement! I will be graduating, whether he likes it or not! And that was the true sum of it all, he would finally be graduating! He couldn't wait, he wanted to scream it from the top of lungs and run about the village letting everyone that didn't know, know that HE would be graduating this year! In fact... He would do exactly that! Hoisting himself to his feet at the edge of the roof, he let out a whooping howling into the night sky, "SHUT YER YELLABELLIED TRAP, GABNABIT!" Was the immediate reply from an open window across the street, instantly deflating the boy's excitement but only momentarily as he burst out laughing and retreated to the roof's exit... Maybe in the morning... Definitely. THEN, everyone would know.
INDENT “Of course a mission,” Arina said with a confused look on her face, “That is what teams do together neh?” The petite girl watched intently as Chario squirmed around the inside of Lerry’s jacket. Within a few moments, the small pup popped out with a piece of paper in his mouth. From Lerry’s response to the note, it was obvious that he had no idea who Arina and Kaito were and why they were addressing him so formally. Arina lightly laughed covering her open mouth with her left hand upon learning that Lerry actually hadn’t been aware of what was going on and consequently, Chario had led him here purposely without divulging that knowledge. “Crazy,” The young girl pouted until the puppy had quickly taken the jerky from her hands with an excited look on his face. ‘Looks like I just scored some points,’ She held open the paper sack and stated, “There are more if you would like some. My mom always packs too much for me.” Kaito seemed uneasy and socially awkward trying his best to contribute not only to the conversation but the formation of their new squad. “The pleasure is all mine,” the young woman bowed slightly showing her appreciation for his efforts.
INDENT “Let’s go!” Arina announced loudly and quickly, she covered her own mouth remembering they were still inside the library. The young girl skipped elegantly to the door almost resembling what one would imagine to be a fairy and decided to hold the door open for her new comrades. The walk from the library to the Hokage’s Office would be a fairly long one, especially since they were seemingly taking their time by comfortably strolling through the city streets. The stall vendors shouted trying to get the attention of probable customers. The buildings were in full bloom and over flowing with customers, new and regulars alike. The streets were always so bright and colorful that the young girl wasn’t sure what she would do without it. This really was her home, and she was proud. Finally Kaito decided to commence what the others were too anxious to attempt, “You guys excited to finally be done with the academy? We’re actual Shinobi, now. We get to start our own stories.” Despite the structure of the sentence, the boy’s voice was filled with nonchalant. Whether or not he had meant to or if it just came naturally, Arina was unaware. She would learn through time together and experience dealing with him, though. “I am,” The young girl stated firmly with a far off and distant look in her eyes. She was going to become a ninja revered for her medical skills! That was her goal.
INDENT After a solid fifteen minute walk, the trio arrived at the Hokage’s Office. Kaito quickly chose a mission from the three attached to the board reading it out loud for the others to hear. The girl sported a look of disgust upon hearing the mission, though she hadn’t meant to. “Tora escaped again,” She was quite literally shocked even though he had been known to do it several times. “I have heard horror stories about him. I can’t have my face scratched,” Arina pouted lightly touching her facial frame for several minutes imagining a much more twisted version of the horror stories that she had encountered. She girl shook the thought from her head. Quite literally, she shook her head from left to right for several minutes before coming back to reality. She probably looked like a fool to her new team. She giggled nervously, “Tora is going down.” She pointed the thumb on her left hand in a downward motion to emphasis her statement. “This will be a fine starting mission,” She looked over to Lerry, “Don’t you think?”
Sweat dripped down the dark-skinned boy's face, which was contorted briefly into a grimace of exertion as he twisted his body in an odd angle to dodge his sparring partner's shuriken.
"Oh, that was pretty close there, Notwen. Getting tired already?" called the instructor, who sat on a sand dune a couple of feet away from the sandstone platform he himself had erected for his students to fight. Notwen rolled to the side as more shuriken were thrown at him, getting cut in the cheek by one that had been aimed ahead of the rest. The hot mid-afternoon sun shone down on the desert with not a single cloud to shield them from its searing rays, but Notwen was better off than his pale-skinned classmate, who was now beginning to get burned. The dark-skinned boy took the short break of shuriken fire to assess his position. The sun was directly overhead so trying to get in a strategic location was pointless. The platform they were on was a 30-by-30 foot square, and Shazoku, his sparring partner was somewhere between the center and the opposite edge of it. Due to his use of ranged projectiles, Notwen was at a disadvantage at least until Shazoku ran out of things to throw. Notwen himself was a ninjutsu user, but his seals were still shaky which increased the time he needed to execute his jutsus.
Wiping the cut with his right thumb and licking the blood off of it, the dark-skinned boy began to run at Shazoku, who seemed startled and began to throw more shurikens at him. Notwen ducked and weaved, closing the gap between him and his assailant. Shazoku dipped his hand into his pouch to find it empty. Before he could react in any other way Notwen had thrown himself at him, tackling the pale boy in the gut. The two team mates crashed onto the ground of the platform. Notwen quickly shifted to a straddle over Shazoku's chest, trapping the boy's arms under his knees.
"Alright you two, that's enough!" said the instructor.
Sorain landed safely on the pavement directly behind the water creature after the conclusion of his last counter attack. All around him Sorain watched as the giant summon crashed against innocent villagers home and shops, the likes of which were many folk lively hood. "I thought I was supposed to be the bad guy?" Sorain thought to himself as he quickly began to anylize the situation in search of his next course of action. Obviously this water summon was the creation of who ever it was that had sent the clones out to attack him. Which meant that rather than go toe to toe with the beast and waste not only his own time, but risk even more unwanted damage to the town, Sorain figured that it would be better for him to locate the source of the jutsu.
Through his Byakugan eyes, Sorain traced the source of the summon's chakra, all the way from its large shoulders, down to a coiling tail that ended by a single humanoid figure located just in the concealment of a near by roof. Instantly knowing that this was his true foe, Sorain changed his course, heading directly down the center of the town towards the building without hesitation or restraint. Just as he was approaching the front of the building Sorain curled down into a crouch before exploding into a leap, sending him high up and above the roof itself. As his body soared through the crisp night air, the sound of Sorains fur lined jacket fanned in the wind like a bird leaving its perch. Tilting his body forward, Sorain took a gentle fist stance in mid air. "Five palms!" he yelled as his body rapidly changed from an upward leap to a downward strike, landing two solid blows to his enemies shoulders followed by two to the neck and one directly in the center of his chest. "Ten palms!" he continued with two open handed strikes over his left and right lung, he then curved his index and middle fingers down so that only the middle knuckles of each hands were extended. Using them, Sorain quickly attacked the victims temples before finishing with an uppercut from the lower end of his right palm. "Twenty Palms!" Sorain continued his assault with ten swift strikes towards his targets rib cage, with each strike his arms snapped rapidly against his targets chest before whipping back to strike again. "Forty Palm Sweep!" Sorain finished his assault by repeating the entire series once more, thus doubling the amount of damage that he dealt out.
Without even giving his opponent time to breathe Sorain returned with another combing attack. Spreading his hands open and slinging them back, Sorain's hands began to become surrounded in blue spiraling mist. As the mist continued to circle, Sorains entire body began to radiate a deep coldness that crept onto his opponents skin, creating chills. In an instant, Sorain tightened his grip into a fist, resulting in the spiraling like aura to become harnessed into his hands. "Fear the mighty hands of the Hyuuga!" Sorain snarled before unleashing another full twenty point barrage on the enemy, each strike hitting more devastating than the least and each strike specfiically targeting his enemies pressure points in an attempt to not only disrupt his chakra flow, but to potentially cancel out jutsu that were currently active, specifically, he hoped, the massive water summon.
