Mai watched through a window as Kasiya left, the Arcanine carrying her away, before she finally turned away. The hallway where she walked was fairly deserted, only a few grunts were here and there. She made her way back to her boss's office, knocking gently on the door before she stepped inside. "She's gone, sir," she reported, checking her watch. "With quite plenty of time to spare." She glanced around the office, the paintings and tapestries on the wall, and sighed. "Sir?" she asked after a few moments. "Was pulling a gun on her really necessary?" The admin kept her poise and tone respectful, as she realized she'd forgotten to return the PokeNav to Kasiya.

"Mai," he shook his head and put the gun back into his drawer. "If the only way to teach is through fear," he explained, "then it was." Giovanni sat back into his chair, staring at Mai intently. "She needs to learn that you don't come running into Team Rocket and not expect reprecussions. She learned today that if you mess with Team Rocket, it could be your life." The man held out his hand and swept it over to the window. "She had almost died here. Why not show her that something else may happen?"

"I see," Mai replied, and closed her eyes. "You're right, of course." She looked down through the window, and into the laboratory. "I didn't mean for her to fall through," she said quietly, as her Espeon came up beside her and nuzzled her hand. "Which reminds me," Mai said suddenly, straightening up. "She wanted me to tell you that she'd be back someday to challenge you for a badge, and to also thank you for not kiling her." The admin chuckled, and turned to leave, but stopped, wanting to ask something else, but quickly decided against it. "I'll leave you alone, sir," she said, saluting.

"As you were, Mai," Giovanni saluted back. The man locked his fingers together and smirked darkly. "So, she'll be back for a badge." He sighed, standing out of his chair and walking over to the wall behind his chair. As he reached the wall, a pad with numbers appeared. The man typed in three numbers. The wall opened up, revealing a staircase that lead down to a bright room where his collection rested.

Kasiya awoke a short time later. She was covered up with the woolen blanket Giovanni had given her, and she rested on a pile of soft leaves and grass. A small fire was going, even though it was still daytime, and she saw the happy faces of her Pokemon all looking at her. "Did you guys do this?" she asked, not able to contain her smile. "Thanks, I love you guys!" she giggled as they all converged on her, each eager to get a pat, cuddle or kiss. "I don't know what I'd do without you," she added, as Rosemary climbed up into her lap.

"Where are we, anyways?" Kasiya asked, looking around. They were a little ways from a path, surrounded by trees in all directions. "Well if we came from Viridian, then I'd guess this is Viridian Forest?" she asked. Shocker nodded, curling up beside the fire. It was fairly cool outside, and Kasiya shivered slightly. She looked down at her bare ankle, her shoes and socks tucked neatly in her backpack. It was purple and swollen, but it felt a lot worse than it looked. She cringed a bit as it seemed to throb on cue. "Hey Ariel, do you think you could help the swelling with a mini Ice Beam or something?"
The Vaporeon gave a nod, and came over as Kasiya held out her injured leg, away from her makeshift bed. The Vaporeon opened her mouth, and a small stream of icy cold water poured forth, and onto her ankle. Kasiya winced, but soon it was feeling much better, and she lied back down to rest. "I don't know what to do now," the girl mumbled, cuddling her baby Chikorita.

Nina nodded a little bit, not speaking.
Sabrina looked to the young trainer. "Kilik," she began, "don't let your loss get you down. You are still an amazing trainer. After all, how many people can say that they not only own but can control a Pokemon that was manmade? The last Pokemon that was created by humans was supposed to have been amazingly violent and uncontrollable, based on the journals I've read in the Cinnibar Island mansion and a few other sources from Saffron's library. One loss does not make you any less great as a person." She smiled a little bit, hoping she had helped to cheer up the boy.

"Sounds great," Mitsu grinned. Shiva had made it to the edge of the island and Mitsu was ready to go check out the place. Before anything though a poster that was plastered to the outside of a building caught her eye. After reading thought it she discovered that there was going to be a tournament at the battle factory. "Hey, a tournie at the Battle Factory. Let's check it out Dante!"

"I can't believe my dad was a part of Team Rocket," Kasiya mused, staring up at the canopy of trees above her. "How long was he with them? What sort of nasty things did he do? Does Mom know? What if he goes back? Is that why they wanted me that time?" she muttered each question aloud, anger and disappointment building within her. She sat up again, putting the sleepy Chikorita aside as she suddenly remembered the seventh Pokeball in her pocket. "Oh, right!" she said, pulling it out. "I'm not sure what do do with you yet," she told it honestly. She tossed it, revealling the Sandslash that the Rockets had somehow missed in her pocket. "How are you doing?" she asked him, smiling.
"Slash." He looked around at the other Pokemon nervously, but relaxed as Ariel and Adamantine gave him friendly smiles and a nice greeting. "This is everyone," she added. "Ariel, Adamantine, Fang, Hiro, Shocker, and Rosemary. I think you need a name too, so I'll call you...Digger." The Sandslash nodded in approval, and Kasiya held up the Pokeball, calling him back. She held it up as it disappeared, going safely to her Pokemon storage system with Professor Oak. "I'll see you soon, so take care of him, Professor," she said quietly.

Meowth who had hopped up onto land at the soonist possible time looked at the poster as well. "That sounds like it could be fun."
Dante meanwhile had hopped out of the boat and recalled Shiva after thanking her for her assistance and tied up the boat befor going over to the poster as well. "It sounds and looks interesting." He said to Mitsu and Meowth. "What the heck, I'll go cheak it out with you guys."

Kilik looked at Sabrina. "I guess you're right," he said. He entered the Pokemon Center, pulling the PokeBalls that contained his party from his belt and handing them to Nurse Joy. She walked off for a moment. The boy turned around to the two women and leaned against the counter. "So, off to Viridian?" he said, looking at Nina.

Keegan approached the seaside cottage carefully, stopping to check the name on the mailbox. "Briney. That name sounds familiar," Keegan rubbed his chin, and looked to Artemis, who was looking around at everything, her eyes darting back and forth. "You're a jolly girl, aren't you?" he laughed, tickling her under the chin.
"You rotten kids!" a shrill elderly voice called. "You've come to steal something else, like a poor old man's mail? How dare you!" Keegan looked over to see a balding old man running towards him. The elderly gent reached down and pulled off his shoe, and hurled it at Keegan as hard as he could, which surprisingly nailed the boy right in the head, the force of the blow knocking him over.
"What are you doing?" Keegan cried, holding the bump on his head as the Taillow circled overhead, crying out loudly and flapping her wings so hard feathers flew in every which direction.
"Extracting justice!" the man bellowed, picking up his shoe. "I know you did it! You took away my beloved Peeko! Now you're going to pay!"

"I didn't take anyone away!" Keegan yelled defensively. "I don't even know who Peeko is! I saw your boat and I need to get to Dewford Island, I was just coming to talk to you is all." You crazy old codger!
"You didn't take Peeko? What will I do now?" the man fell to his knees, sobbing.
"Eh..." Keegan shifted uncomfortably on his feet, not sure if he should console the old man or just walk away. Against his better judgment, he knelt down and put a hand on his shoulder. "First of all, calm down. Secondly, tell me what happened. Maybe I can help you out."
The man nodded, taking several deep breaths and looking up at Keegan. "Peeko's my beloved Wingull. I never go anywhere without her. She's been missing since this morning." The old man put his head in his hands, sobbing uncontrollably again. "What'll I do? She's my best friend in the world...."
"Mr. Briney, I take it?" Keegan asked, the man simply nodded. "I don't know what happened to her either, but I'm sure if we work together, we can figure it out." The boy smiled, and held out his hand. "My name's Keegan, by the way."

"Oh, thank you," Mr. Briney said, reaching out. Keegan pulled him to his feet.
"You'll have to give me more details," Keegan added. "Does she have any specific markings, or places she likes to go? Anything will help," he nodded, leading the man to the cottage and sitting him down on the front porch.
"She's just a normal Wingull," Briney said, his brow furrowed in thought. "Sometimes she likes to explore the beach, but usually when we take our morning walks. She never goes out of my sight." The old man sighed, his elbows on his knees, and his head in his hands. "It's terribly lonely without her."
"I bet," Keegan sighed as well, sitting next to him as he tried to think of a plan. Artemis had landed, and was pecking and scratching the ground intently. "You know, I'm sure my Taillow could act as a scout," Keegan said after watching her for a few moments. "Hey Artemis! Come over here for a second, please?" The little bird hopped over, looking up at her trainer curiously. "I want you to fly around and see if you can find Peeko." The Taillow nodded, and took to the sky, gaining altitude and soon going out of sight. "She'll come back if she finds something," Keegan said reassuringly.

A short time later, Mai was in her room, lying back on her bed with Kasiya's PokeNav next to her. She'd turned the device back on, and looked over as it rang softly. She grabbed it, sitting up as she did so, and chuckled lightly at the sight of a girl with her face covered in ink, a Horsea perched atop her head. "Dante..." she murmured. "That name sure sounds familiar." She clicked it off, and stood up. "I imagine she'll be wanting this back," she smiled, putting it back into her pocket and gathering her things. "Let's go pay her a visit, shall we?" She laughed to herself as she made her way outside the gym, and released her Flygon. "Let's find the girl," she told the dragon Pokemon sternly, as she climbed onto its back and the two flew off.
