"Would you like some company to the portal?" Earendil asked. "I still need to pack, but I could do that afterward ... or if you want to wait a bit ..."
He trailed off. Was he sounding too pushy? Too eager?

Lin smiled, "I'd like that."
And she sure Miyuki would too, at least until she realized that Earendil wasn't coming with them.
"Are you all done?" Lin asked Miyuki.
"All don!" Miyuki made the motion of her wiping her hands.
She grinned as she picked up her doll with one arm and proceeded to carry Senka with the other arm.

Earendil chuckled softly. Miyuki looked so grown up like that, he had to force himself not to pick her up and carry her. That wouldn't do her any good.
"Off we go then, I guess?" he smiled.

"Yes," Lin replied preparing for the some what one sided fight that was about to occur.
"Put me down furball!"
"But Sen-sen, like carries," Miyuki protested happily not at all seemly upset by the nickname.
Maybe she did call Senka "Sen-sen" on purpose.
"Let's go before I have to separate them again," Lin murmured to Earendil.

Earendil chuckled softly. Poor Senka.
He knelt in front of Miyuki and smiled at her. "Would you like me to carry you, Miyuki?" he asked her warmly. "But then Mommy would have to carry Sen-Sen, is that okay?"

Miyuki's eyes lit up at that as she handed poor Senka off onto her mother, "I get carry kay?"
"What am I? A rag doll?" Senka muttered sourly as she was taken by her owner.
Lin chuckled, "Okay, you go on now."
"Yay! Up!" she told Earendil and then paused for a bit before saying, "Pelease!"

Earendil chuckled and scooped Miyuki up, hugging her before balancing her in his arms.
"Well, Senka," he grinned at her, "if you keep eating like you did at breakfast, you will be a rag doll someday. Might be the only way you can get around."
He reached over and scritched behind her ears so that she wouldn't be too annoyed with his teasing, then turned back to Lin. "You need to go get your bags?"

"I left them by the door," Lin explained, "It was easier that way."
Since she already knew she was going to be making the trip. So Lin motioned for Earendil to follow her to the door.
Senka stuck out her tongue at Earendil, just because she was, doesn't mean she has to like it thank you so much!

Earendil chuckled at Senka and followed after Lin. He probably should have packed his bag the night before when he had been unable to sleep, but it was too late for that now.
"So other than getting clothes for Miyuki," he asked, "what plans do you have for when you return home?"

"Visit my siblings," Lin replied, "It's been a while since I've talked with them."
Besides most of her siblings were Seconds and more or less married so maybe they could shed a bit of light on what was going on with her.
"And of course visit my nieces and nephews...."
Have a chat with her parents, avoid her grandmother at all costs.
"Visit Raven and the others," Lin added absently.

Earendil smiled. "At least, even if your adventures at home aren't the same as here, you still have them," he said sincerely. "You have an extraordinarily large family, to begin with. I know I do as well, technically, and yet it doesn't feel like it since so many of them live to far away."

Lin laughed at that, she knew it very well since she was one of the younger children in the family.
"I know... fortunately most of them live in the same area. I think there are very few now that do not."
And visiting in the Four Lands was actually easier than visiting the Seconds world now.

"How far away are the ones that don't live at home, if I may ask?" Earendil asked with a smile. He was glad that things seemed normal between them. It made it easier.

"Another world far away," Lin grinned sheepishly, "You have my sister and Celebor's families here and there are still a few Seconds that live in the original world they were created in. Probably because they like the peace and quiet."
Otherwise Lin would have found it horribly boring.
"Otherwise it's just a walk away."
