Sabrina knew that there was no way they would be able to defeat the terrifying Pokemon that loomed ahead of them. The best thing that we can do is to wound and debilitate him, she thought-spoke to the other girls. It'll be a miracle if we can even do that. Each girl flung a Pokeball out, and in three consecutive explosions of white light, Aphrodite, Castform, and Somnus appeared on the field. A Lapras, Castform, and my Hypno... We might be able to eke something out here. Mewtwo looked upon his adversaries and laughed. "Three against one?" he asked; "That's just fine with me. I'll take the lot of you down that much faster." Sabrina was growing irritated. "Silence!" she hollered. "Somnus, use Hypnosis! Put that creature to sleep!"
"Castform, use Rain Dance! That'll help out both you and Aphrodite!"
"Aph, help Somnus! Use Confuse Ray!"

Mewtwo laughed again. He was obviously the fastest Pokemon amongst them and he watched as his opponents readied to attack. "You're clever little Trainers," he commented. Somnus waved its pendulum back and forth several times, ready to emit small waves of psychic energy which had the potential to induce sleep. "Ah ah ah," Mewtwo said, chuckling. "I don't think so." He extended his right arm out in front of him, his hand glowing with a blue aura which would later surround Somnus. Using its Psychic powers, it thrashed the weaker Pokemon around the cave, slamming it into the walls, floor, and ceiling, before finally throwing it into the water behind him. His attention then shifted to Castform and Aphrodite; using both hands this time as his eyes glowed crimson, he telekinetically picked up both Pokemon and repeatedly slammed them into one another, beating them about with an unbridled fury, before blasting them off with such a force that the both of them ended up getting stuck in one of the cave's walls. After his attack, Mewtwo used Safeguard to protect itself from status abnormalities for a period of time, while Sabrina, Whitney, and Nina recalled their Pokemon, in a state of shock and awe.

"You have got to be shitting me," Sabrina said, an expression of incredulosity on her face.

Blythe looked on as the argument continued. Her mind was calculating, piecing all these facts together. She was vaguely aware as the silver-haired Rocket-lady, along with her recuperating partner, flew away on a Skarmory, following the Rocket-leader's helicopter. They'd came, and they'd gone; and apparently, they'd fulfilled their mission. There must have been something special about this group of trainers if the big-bad boss-man had to come himself. The crowd of trainers had begun to separate, and apparently, so had their friendships.

"Weeeell, Ruru, looks like our misson's done too." Blythe said, regaining her chipper cheerfulness. Haruka shifted his hand-like appendages underneath of Blythe, so that she was sitting like on a swing. The two of them began floating over the plaza where the commotion had taken place. Not many people remained, but Blythe took a few more pictures anyway, for good measure. The turned-over chairs, broken glass and all-over destruction.. somebody's gonna have fun cleaning that up! She slid the camera back into her knapsack and quickly made a pointing motion towards the sea. "Awright! Now we have to deliver these pictures!"

~~x~~
Ryka nodded, flashing a small smile towards Jaeshan. "I would enjoy that.. a swim would be nice after all the commotion of today." She made her way towards the locker rooms, where she quickly changed into the purple one-piece that was in her bag. She'd been in it earlier in the morning, but changed out when it had gotten colder. Her little Iris padded behind her as she made the walk back towards the pool. The Espeon placed herself on the ledge, her tail dipping into the warm water. Ryka jumped in, her splash getting some of Iris's fur wet. Ryka giggled a little and relished in the fact that the water was warm. "It is good that you are okay.. Many people seemed to be hurt.."

"Hahahaha. Was that supposed to be serious?" Mewtwo extended its arms out in front of it a couple of times. "Well? I'm waiting... unless you three want to fight me yourselves." Holy s**t, no, Sabrina thought, reaching for another Pokeball, the other girls taking a hint from her. "Quiet! We're not done yet!" Throwing her Pokeball forward, Anastasia exploded in a flash of light onto the field, soon followed by Ursaring and Mihoshi. These Pokemon were a bit stronger than the previous ones the Trainers had sent out and they were rather reliable. The girls had a better chance of being able to harm their opponent with these Pokemon over the ones that were on the field moments ago.

"My, my," Mewtwo said, "those are quite the specimens." He chuckled. "Well? Still waiting." Sabrina was growing irritated. "Anastasia, let's get this started! Ice Beam, now!"
"Ringu, give him no quarter! Use Faint Attack!"
"Mihoshi, keep up with them! Use a Metronome!"

That was an interesting set of attacks coming this round. Concentrating, Anastasia started to charge up her beam; a moment or two later, with a powerful whoop!, she shot it at her adversary, a strong force behind it. Meanwhile, Ringu rushed Mewtwo, its left arm raised high over its head and its paw glowing black, stomping its feet fiercely with every step it took. Mihoshi stayed behind the others and began waggling its finger, needing a short time for Metronome to work.

Mewtwo was in a bit of a pickle now; he didn't have time enough to use Psychic on all three Pokemon like he did in the last round. His priority was currently Ringu-- if he didn't act fast, he'd be struck by a physical attack from a physically adept Pokemon. Staring the bear down, he attempted to use Psychic on him, and it worked-- for a moment or two. Ringu broke through the Pokemon's mental grasp, slashing its claw across Mewtwo's chest, leaving a clawmark in black on it. "Hah," Ringu said, grinning sarcastically to the stronger Pokemon; "just who's laughing now?" Turning around, he sprinted back to Whitney. "Get back here, you disgusting--"

BAM! Mewtwo was hit smack in the face by Anastasia's Ice Beam. Despite its exceptional defense to special moves, Mewtwo felt a bit of damage from both attacks.
"There!" Anastasia hollered angrily, "that oughta teach you, you right mug!" Mewtwo's rage was growing. "You will both pay," he said, a dark tone in his voice. "Will they, now?" Mihoshi asked, a chirp to her voice. Metronome was ready. She floated in a circle, and opened her mouth to... Sing? Nina bit her lip, extremely concerned. It was a gamble, she thought, it was a gamble and I took it and I lost--

This wasn't a normal Sing attack. This was Perish Song. A macabre melody filled the air, the four Pokemon hearing it. This frightened and enraged Mewtwo further; with an angry roar, he blasted a Blizzard attack at his opponents, striking all of them and knocking out two of them. Anastasia was the only survivor, but she was very badly injured. She laughed weakly.

"Three."

"What I wouldn't give for a couple of handfuls of Vicodin right about now," Keegan murmured to himself as he walked along, oblivious to anything else that happened back at ground-zero. There were only three things on his mind right now, the first and foremost being that he couldn't remember ever having everywhere on his body hurt like hell all at once, the second being how ungodly exhausted he was, and the third, well it wasn't so much as a thought as a goal, and that was to find some way of getting himself into a drug, alcohol or otherwise self-induced coma. It felt like he'd been walking for hours, and had gone at least ten miles, but when he stopped and looked around, he realized that in reality, it had only been about thirty minutes and about a block and a half. Oh great, now I'm delirious too, he thought bitterly, stopping and taking a good look around.

Even though he'd been to Slateport a few times now the place was still very foreign to him, and it was safe to say that he had no real idea where he was. "Damn it all," he muttered, feeling a wave of dizziness overcome him and he limped towards a lamp post for support. There were glaring lights up ahead and he squinted to try and cut the brightness down, nodding slowly when he realized he was looking at a 23-hour convenience store. "Awesome," he murmured, taking a few deep breaths and heading slowly towards it. The automated doors slid open for him and he was greeted by a rush of cool, climate-controlled air and he looked around, vaguely aware that his appearance had startled a few of the other customers as well as the late-shift clerk. He scoffed before heading further into the store, making doubly sure to growl or stomp menacingly in the direction of anyone who looked at him funny.
=====
The Haunter let out a cruel-sounding cackle before it reared back its disembodied hand and let it fly. The ghost's eerie laughter echoed throughout the gym, and Morty watched the punch fly towards the already weakened Bulbasaur. He smiled, knowing that there was no way the Seed Pokemon could take down his Haunter, but there was a chance she could still turn the tide in the favor of the next Pokemon that came out to play.

"Lily, watch out!" Miharu cried, watching the creepy fist fly though the air and unerringly strike her Pokemon. Lily cried out and fell to her belly, struggling to get back up to her feet. "Come on, you can do it! Fight back with a Vine Whip!" The Bulbasaur groaned and pulled herself to her feet, glaring at the Haunter as it laughed at her misfortune. With a roar she sent her two green vines hurling out towards the ghost, fully intent on showing it that she wasn't finished yet.

Kirsa was in pain, yes, but it wasn't something she was worried about. The more you freaked out over it, the more it was going to hurt. So naturally, the little cadet was more than happy to, you know, suffer in silence and remain calm. Sasha apparently had never heard of this concept and saw fit to freak the hell out, screaming and kicking in doors and screaming some more. Kirsa wasn't in THAT bad of shape, was she? Regardless it was starting to get her nerves going, not enough to put her into a panic, but enough that it was becoming a struggle to remain calm.

She settles herself gingerly in the chair, gaze shifting between Sasha and the bottle of Burn Heal wondering if it was really going to work. "...Ouchie? I'm not twelve, Sasha. You can just say 'it's going to hu-'' Kirsa makes a noise, cringing. She didn't know if it was actually working or not, but either way it stung like a b***h.

She wasn't going to lie, this was just a tad bit awkward. She hadn't even noticed that he was shirtless until he began to button up his yellow and black shirt. A very light blush found it's way to her cheeks despite the fact that the boy was tattered and beaten. She mentally shook her head before pulling up a spare seat next to the head of the bed and placing the tray in her lap. She hardly knew the boy, other than the fact that he was friends with Mike and Kasiya and M.A. ( By the way, where had the brunette disappeared off to? ) and that he had some sort of Rocket past. But still she couldn't quite place a reason to why she was being so nice. Another mental shrug followed as she decided to just leave it as it was.

Kilik definately looked better than he had yesterday, there was a bit of color to his face now. Well, other than, you know, red. Now that she thought about it she look a quick glance at herself. Her clothes were dirty, there was some blood that still stained them, and her arms and legs were covered with several rectangular bandages where she had recieved shallow cut from falling onto broken bits of glass and mirror. She wanted to change. Her clothes there torn in a few places and she just felt plain grimy. Mitsu laughed a bit trying to diffuse the bit of awkwardness she now felt, "What if I say no?" she asked before holding a fork full of fluffy yellow eggs close to Kilik's mouth.

Unlike Mitsu, Kilik didn't find the situation awkward at all. If he just imagined her as a nurse, it was totally fine. He leaned forward and put the fork in his mouth, then pulled back and glanced down at the empty fork. He used his good arm to grab up a piece of bacon that he nibbled on as well. "If you said no," he laughed after swallowing the food, "I think I would have started to throw a fit." He leaned forward and took another bite of egg when she offered it and carefully sipped the orange juice out of a bendy straw that she had so politely provided.

When the tray was totally empty, Kilik reached down and picked up his jeans. "One moment," he pulled the blanket up to his chest and began to shift around beneath it. A moment passed and he dropped his swim trunks off the side of the bed, then went back to moving around under the cloth. "C'mooon!" he growled. With a dramatic pull, he managed to get his pants back on. He buttoned and zipped them up, threw the blanket off his legs and then looked over the bed. Slowly, he put one leg over the edge and then the other, sitting up on the edge. Nurse Joy came in and pulled the tubes out of his arm slowly then patched him up. Very slowly, Kilik stood up. He winced, but it wasn't too bad.

"Thank you again," he smiled at the girl.

"You could have asked me to leave," Mitsu said as nonchalantly as she could, suddently finding the glass of orange juice very, very interesting. It didn't taste half bad and it would give her a bit of energy that she needed. And it was a lovely distraction from the ever increasing awkwardness in the room. She swallowed down the rest of her toast and strawberry jam, she wouldn't ever eat any other flavor, and gulped down the rest of her juice in record speed. She'd never was the most polite of eaters. It took effort the night before at that family dinner. Well, two families, and random trainers and Pokemon was more like it.

Once up on his feet Mitsu was on hers as well. She thanked the pink haired nurse and the pink Chansey who had so kindly taken the tray back to the small, and now presumably crowded, kitchen. "You're welcome," she said returning the smile, "Least I could do." The duo walked out to the main lobby, which was a lot less crowded than it had been after yesterday's fiasco. "Ah! Here!" Nurse Joy called before handing them each thier Pokeballs. "Though your Pokemon could use a good nights rest. Take care now!"

Once through the sliding glass doors of the Center Mitsu appearance bugged her. The bloody cothes were too much of a vivid reminder of the terror that struck Slateport's usually pristine beaches. Not to mention the tears on her shirt, and especially her skirt, where she's taken the brunt of the cuts from the glass, were bugging her. "Mind if we go shopping?" she asked, "I kind of, uh, need some new clothes."

A bottle of ibuprofen, several cans of Amp and a couple packs of smokes later Keegan was on his way again, not necessarily looking it, but he definitely felt a lot better. The extra-strength Advil were already kicking in fabulously and the hefty caffeine boost would get him back to the Pokemon Center or something, at the very least. The smokes, well, they were for his nerves, which by this point, were totally shot. He approached the red-roofed building and stopped in front of it, the outside lights shining brightly. It was at this point that he realized just how terrible he looked - caked in blood and dirt, clothes torn, and he let out a few rather nasty curse words as he examined the sleeve of his jacket and how it was hanging by a mere thread. "That little shithead wrecked my favourite coat," he grumbled, dropping the remains of his cigarette onto the ground and stepping on it as he carefully slipped out of it to give it another once over. Aside from the sleeve there were long cuts and gouges that went right through it and he sighed, glaring up at the star-dotted sky. "This day just gets better and better!" A pair of younger trainers that had just come from inside the Center had stopped and were looking at him like he'd just stepped out of a horror flick. "What the hell are you looking at?" he grumped at them loudly, watching the duo practically run screaming before he emptied the pockets of the coat and folded it into a haphazard square before he tossed it into the nearby trash. While the sleeve could have been repaired, the rest of it was too far gone to fix.

He leaned up against the wall of the Pokemon Center, lighting up another smoke as he went over the past few hours' events. Nothing good had come out of it except for some knowledge of the Sinnoh region, though Keegan found he didn't have any real interest in going there any time soon. He'd check it out eventually but for now he'd just be content working towards the rest of his badge collection here in Hoenn, not that he wanted them for any reason other than to say he was better then the gym leaders were. He was halfway through the cigarette before he felt too cold to remain outdoors, and he wanted nothing more than to have a hot shower and go to sleep. He stepped through the sliding doors, amazed to find that the crowd had died down a lot already, though he did get an incredibly dirty look from the tired-looking Nurse Joy. "Excuse me, but this is a smoke-free environment," she said, drumming her fingers on the desktop.

"Whatever, sorry," Keegan mumbled, looking around quickly before he dropped the butt in what he thought was an unoccpied cup on one of the tables, prompting an angry shout from whomever it belonged to, though it fell on deaf ears as Keegan simply ignored them and headed for the showers. He was so done with this day.
=====
"Night Shade," was Morty's only reply, his eyes closing as the Bulbasaur's vines stretched towards Haunter. Haunter let out that creepy, taunting laugh again, extending his palms and catching the green vines in either hand with a loud, painful snapping sound. It seemed to hurt somewhat, though Haunter held on tightly, his eyes glowing red as a burst of dark energy, looking similar to a black Thunderbolt. The Night Shade traveled quickly down Lily's vines, rendering her completely helpless against the attack.

"Oh no," murmured Miharu, feeling bad for the Bulbasaur as she was wracked by the ghostly attack. When it was over, Haunter released his hold on the vines and they fell to the gym floor, the Bulbasaur being too tired to pull them back. "Come back, Lily! You were excellent out there," she said, smiling at the Pokeball before it was replaced on her belt. "Okay, that Haunter's a tough one... Let's go Starrie, blast 'em with a Bubblebeam!" The Staryu, though already having been switched out once, still had energy enough to continue and its core flickered brightly before a stream of powerful bubbles was launched at the Haunter. "That's the way!" Miharu cheered.

Kasiya looked behind them, unable to help but smile a bit as she saw the fiery spheres fly off behind them. Too bad Shocker wasn't here, she could zap them into oblivion, she thought a bit painfully, but pushed the thought from her mind. She'd figure out a way to get her Raichu back. There was no way she was leaving one of her best friends in the entire world in the hands of her sister.

"Go away for a bit?" she asked, as suddenly Mike was holding his head, and then falling practically unconscious. "Mike? MIKE!?" Both panic and fear began to build up in her, almost to the breaking point, and she tried shaking her friend to rouse him. "Mike, please! Talk to me! Nitro, you should land! Something's wrong with-" She didn't get a chance to finish her sentence though, as suddenly Mike was awake and alert as though nothing had happened, except for the part where he was screaming as though every bit of pain from earlier slammed him all at once. "Hey! Hey! It's okay, calm down, I've got you," she said soothingly, wrapping her arms around him as though that act alone would stop him from shaking. "There was, that is... You just went through a lot, and I think the stress is getting to you," she told him gently. "I-I think we should land, calm down a bit, a-and I'll try to explain," she went on. "You've got to trust me on this one. I think we'll be o-okay, but you've got to trust me. And Nitro too," she added, gesturing to the Charizard and giving him a gentle pat. "We've got you."
=-=-=-=-=

As Ryka went off to change into her bathing suit, Jaeshan swam around a bit more, lost in thought. There was no way he was as adventurous or daring as Kasiya or the others, yet somehow he too managed to find himself in heaps of trouble, even though he never asked for it. Like the time with Kilik up on the roof of the Silph Co Building - he'd not known what was going on but he'd gone with Kasiya for fear of leaving her alone. And then there was the ordeal with the strange Relic in Diglett's Cave, and this evening, the Rocket attack on Rowan's seminar. He'd managed to hold the Rockets off and keep them from going after Rowan, but a part of him couldn't help but feel like he was somehow drawing in all this trouble. It was stupid to think so, and he knew it, but as he watched Ryka come back out poolside and jump into the water, he suddenly feared for her safety. I wouldn't want her to get hurt because of me, even if it was unintentionally, he thought diving back under the water for a moment or two.

When he surfaced, it was near Ryka, and he smiled at the pretty blonde girl, waving off her concerns. "Nah, I'm fine, trust me," he said, once again pushing the wet hair from his face. "You don't need to worry about me." She didn't seem to be hurt either and this made him feel a little better. "I uh... think I'm going to go back to my room and get some sleep," he said finally, climbing up the ladder and out of the pool, water dripping off him as he made his way over to his towel and dried himself a bit. "I guess I'll see you later," he added, giving a small wave before he slipped his feet into his sandals and headed back out into the hallway, his heart feeling heavy as he returned to his room.

Sasha had to contain her childish grin as she saw Kirsa wince in pain. It wasn't like she enjoyed seeing her friend like this, but it was just so cute how she acted so tough on the outside when on the inside, she was still just an adorable little girl with feelings just like the rest of them. After a moment of applyng the medicine, she noticed the initial marks starting to fade. "Tous les meilleurs!" Sasha said with a cheery clap. "Now, I'm no doctor, but I'm sure you'll be just fine in the morning. It'll just make your shower tonight a little less pleasant." Sasha stood up, and walked over to the counter top, wondering why the man behind the counter was staring at her. I mean, aside from her natural beauty of course. When she reached for her wallet, she noticed two of the buttons on her shirt had broken off, exposing a bit more of the girl's chest than originally intended. A little red in the face, Sasha immediately closed up the embarrassing cleavage (which on any other day she would flaunt, but right now was not the time) and handed him the $450, thanking him for the Burn Heal.

She looked behind her to check if there were any rips or tears in her skirt before turning around and holding out a hand for her friend. "Now let's go get cleaned up, mon amie." she said with a reassuring smile.

----
Mike's breathing started to calm down as Kasiya squeezed him tight, but he was still really freaked out. "How bad is it Nitro?" he asked, still shaking.

The Charizard turned his head around and looked at the boy, almost instantly grimacing at the sight. He sucked in his lower lip and shook his head; no use lying to him.

The boy frowned, taking in a deep breath. "Alright Kass." he said almost inaudibly. "Let's bring it down Nitro." By now the three had almost made it to Rustboro, so they touched down in the surrounding forest. Mike dismounted his Pokemon, landing harder than he thought he would. "Ow, dammit!" the boy cried. His whole body ached. After a few moments of gritting his teeth to the unbelievable pain that was coursing through his entire body, Mike finally spoke. "What...what the hell happened to me Kass? How did I-how did I get like this?"

Robin couldn't believe it, they were inviting her to come along with them on there adventure. Things were really looking up for her now, she had new friends and she had met up with some older ones. "It sure would be. I have never been in a contest before, what are they like?" She asked curiously. It sounded like it would be a lot of fun. Or at least it sounded like it was worth a try, then again everything was worth a try once.

"Ah well, the Kanto contests are just starting, we need to get over there and get started ourselves so its no problem. You have to pick up a contest case and register in Saffron City, so we will get off the train there." Sarah explained as she boredly traced a finger on the table.

Jayme seemed to sense that her friend was done talking and took up the rest of the explanation with a roll of her eyes. "What I think you meant was what happens during a contest?" Robin nodded at that, she really didn't know all to much. " Well, you show off your pokemon during a contest, at first you make an appeal to show off how your pokemon moves, then there are appeal battles. It isn't about winning the battle its about how good your pokemon executes its attacks, how pretty it looks I guess." Jayme seemed to be much better at explaining these kinds of things then Sarah was, though that might be because Sarah didn't seem to care to much.

"So its about making your pokemon look good?" Well if that was the case Luffy was right out. The Aipom was fantastic about battles but he didn't care about how it looked or anything as long as it worked. Raz or Brook would be a great choice, they were a lot more self absorbed then the Aipom. Not that they were really that self absorbed either, they would just care a bit more.

"Yup." Sarah pipped in with a yawn. "Well I don't know about you but I am tired. I think I am going to hit the hay. See you tomorrow Robin." The long haired girl just got up and waved goodbye before heading off to some part of the pokemon center. Jayme just rolled her eyes at her friends actions before heading off after her.

Looking down at Luffy Robin just grinned. The little Aipom seemed somewhat disappointed for some reason. "Well Luffy, what do you think? I don't think you would like contests to much but its always good to give something a try right?"

Luffy just looked up at her for a moment before grinning and nodding in a yes. He was a bit disappointed that it wasn't an eating or battle contest but it would still be fun. Maybe there would be food provided for them? Big things like that usually did have food right? Probably food was good!

Lets get away, fly away
I found the path to paradise
Shining spiral of gold
Take my han-

Robin jumped slightly at the sound of her cell phone ringing before she reached down and picked it up at the last tone of the cheery tune. "Hello?" She asked flipping it open to talk to whoever it was on the other end of the line.

For some odd reason, for the remainder of that night, every single person Keegan came across seemed to do a double-take when they saw him, and then turn and run in the opposite direction rather than pass by him. This made it incredibly easy for him to have a shower, and even though the hot water made all the cuts and open wounds sting like hell and cause the redhead to curse like a sailor, the initial pain seemed to melt away rather quickly as the hot water did its job of relaxing him. The first half of the shower consisted of just him standing there, staring down at the water circling the drain and marveling at the reddish tint it had to it. When the water was running clear he came back to reality and washed up properly. It was amazing how something as simple as a hot shower could make everything seem so much better.

He wrapped a towel around his waist, somehow finding himself to be seeing the mental image of Riza standing scantily clad in a towel before him again, and he smiled at the memory. The raven-haired girl had been a strange one, yes, but she'd been great to look at, and even though he felt a bit guilty for thinking it, he'd definitely like to see her again. He gathered his things and found himself a vacant room (or rather scared off the trainer who'd been just about to claim it) and he went inside, locking the door behind him. He changed into a clean pair of boxer shorts and looked at himself in the full-length mirror, wincing at the sight of the perfectly round bruise set in the center of his chest. He shook his head and turned to look at his back, which had a large, strangely shaped bruise that looked like he'd been hugged by an Ursaring. He could feel the painkillers starting to wear off and he downed a few more, having a long drink from the bottle of water he'd acquired at the convenience store as well. He felt a lot better now that he'd assessed his own injuries, and aside from what he assumed to be a few cracked ribs he figured he'd make it through the night at least, even though he was rather aware of just how much pain he'd be in once he woke up in the morning. He climbed into bed, taking his sweet time in order to get comfy. Though he was incredibly tired, he lied there, wide awake for several hours, staring up at the white ceiling in an almost trance-like state until the beeping of his watch snapped him out of it. The redhead blinked a few times and looked at it, seeing that it had just gone past midnight, which meant it was now the second of July. He sighed and shook his head. "July second," he murmured, closing his eyes. "Happy Birthday, Keegan," he muttered, rolling onto his side, where he fell asleep almost immediately.
=====
The Bubblebeam scored a direct hit on Haunter, causing him to drift backwards, his usually-grinning face twisted into an expression of pain. He swiped at the air with his clawed hands to break apart the last few bubbles that were heading his way and he laughed again, pointing at the Staryu as if to say 'You're mine.' Morty just smiled lightly and shook his head. "Finish it, Haunter. Giga Drain."

The Haunter threw back its head and laughed before it turned its gaze to the Starshape Pokemon, both of its ghostly hands extending forward until they grabbed onto two of the Staryu's pointed limbs, which then began to glow brightly, the Giga Drain going into effect.

"Haunter can learn Giga Drain?" cried a bewildered Miharu, watching helplessly as Starrie was drained of its health and then thrown aside like a rag doll, its core gem blinking rapidly. "Okay I didn't see that one coming," she mumbled as she called back the Staryu, suddenly realizing she was down two Pokemon in as many rounds. She looked up at the scoreboard and frowned as now Starrie's picture had been turned to a dull grey as well. Both she and Morty only had two Pokemon left, and Haunter looked like it hadn't even been touched yet thanks to the health it stole from Starrie. She closed her eyes and selected a third Pokeball, looking at it carefully before she let it fly. "Okay Aska, your turn! Attack Haunter with an Aerial Ace!" With a screech, the bird shot forward, locking her gaze on the ghost. A white trail of light streamed behind her, almost as though she'd used Quick Attack, but it seemed brighter and stronger.

"Oh Robin darling! Are you doing all right?" Came the worried voice of Robins mom through the speaker.

Robin couldn't help but grin slightly at the sound of her moms voice. Of course she would be calling, she probably just got home, turned on the news and found out the party her daughter was at had gotten attacked. "I am fine Mom." She grinned slightly and leaned back in her chair. "Nothing bad happened to Luffy, Raz, Brook, or I. We are all fine."

There was a relieved sigh from the other side of the line. "Oh thank goodness Robin. I don't know what we would have done if you had gotten hurt. That and you wouldn't be able to wear the new clothes I picked up for you before I left." Now that her mother was calm she was teasing her daughter. Still new clothes was something that was worth being teased about.

"New clothes? That sounds great! How am I supposed to get them though?" Robin asked curiously, she didn't really have the time to go pick them up or anything.

Hearing that Robins mom just chuckled through the phone. "Oh dear there is something I know about but you don't? There are these cool PC's that transfer and store items. I have no idea how it works, your father would know, but if you are at a pokemon center you can use this service for free. This way you can send me some of your dirty clothes so I can wash them for you."

"Oh wow! That sounds like a great idea!" Robin exclaimed as she shifted around in her seat some. Looking over at Luffy who was licking a plate clean she giggled somewhat. "So how are you doing Mom. I know I saw you yesterday but still, lots of things can happen." She knew that for sure, after all it felt like a month since she had last seen her Mom.

"Oh just work as usual. Nothing interesting on my and your fathers side. Now tell me, did you meet any cute boys at the party? You were in that pretty bathing suit we picked out."

Hearing that Robin's face turned a bright red. "Mooooooom! Don't say those things!" Ok so maybe she had met someone who she sort of liked. Ok so she didn't really know him that well but he had been nice and helped her out. That was something big for her, most people didn't like to spend time with her and this boy had willingly done that. The two of them talked for a while before Robin said goodnight to her mother promising to check the PC for the new clothes tomorrow. For now though she was ready for bed and picking Luffy up they headed off to go to sleep. After brushing their teeth and changing into sleeping clothes that is.

Mary-Anne woke up the next morning in a white, warm, fluffy place that was, she figured idly, as close to heaven as she might ever be. Amazing how good her body felt right now. In fact, she felt like rolling around and laughing just for the heck of it. And she didn't realize that she actually was doing so until she rolled over a disgruntled Daemyn, who dropped off the side of the bed like a rock.

It was only when she saw her Houndoom's fresh scar that she recalled yesterday's events. Right, Rocket invasion in Slateport, etc., cruel people stealing Pokemon and fighting and bleeding and raising hell. Well, if the world wanted to self-destruct, it didn't bother her now. Not like she could actually do anything. She decided that any kind of involvement, like her small, largely unimportant role yesterday, only left her feeling more dead after making her feel too alive, too scared and mad and whatever other emotion her heart was exploding with for whatever reason. It was much more comfortable to be uniformly content and an arm's length away from the madness.

So the brunette got up, feeling more alert and lively than she had for the last couple days. Magic hemoglobin and ten hours of sleep could do that for you, she grinned, humming as she brushed her teeth. Daemyn grinned wolfishly too, glad to see his trainer in such good spirits, even if his scar itched like no other.

Ulani landed on his head. "I was starting to worry that growing made you always grumpy," the bird sang cheekily. She hadn't had the chance to sit on Daemyn's head since he evolved, but now had to relocate to one of his horns, for his skull was uncomfortably hot. The Houndoom snarled, but very lightly, before following M.A. into the kitchen for some much-needed grub, cotton ball attached and all. For all his poor temper and for all her teasing, he got along with Ulani best in a very fighting-siblings kind of way.

The brunette found the following note on the table:
'Dear M.A.,
We decided to be good Samaritans and help out with the mess in Slateport. Rest today, okay? Some muffins are on the table, OJ in the fridge. Food for Daemyn and co., they're on it already by now. Call Sae if you need us. Love, Mom.'
True enough, her team was already tearing away at the food in the large open patio. Tora was surprisingly more composed than she normally was, and M.A. could see how hard she tried not to go mad dog.

At the bottom of the note, in hastily messy writing, was this:
"Take your goddamn iron, brat."

She giggled. Okay, she got the point.
