Just think for a moment...
To tell you the truth, I could easly imagine a reaction in anyway.
It can start off with Beo's hands resting on the sheets of the bed, you could describe what he's seeing, how he's feeling, little actions he's making in response to Theo's holding his hands. He could even be spaced out thinking so hard about the kid thing. Theo's and the doctor's voice could be muffled by his thoughts until a pitch in Theo's voice snapped Beo out of his trance or something.
o_o;
And he can be a bit bewilderened and after a while catch onto what they're saying. Then you can use whichever reaction think would best suit the atmosphere.
It's not really that hard, I guess for me.

I can see so many possible opennings for a post. But that's just me I guess...
