Lily sighed happily, then gave up the pretense of cooking for the moment to turn in his arms and hug him tightly. "You're disrupting my concentration." she accused without rancor, smiling up at him.

Lily swallowed hard, closing her eyes a moment, then nodded, giving the best smile she could manage. "Of course. When... when do you expect to leave, so I can have it ready? Friday? Saturday?" she asked, one hand going to grip the encased flame he'd given her lightly.

"E-early?" Lily asked, gulping a bit. "Okay... wake me up, even if it's just for a kiss and to say goodbye." she asked, holding him tightly. "Please."

"I understand." Lily whispered, then gave him another small smile. "And... and a month or two isn't that long. Make sure you take the time to really learn everything that you need to. Don't rush and make silly mistakes."

"I'll be doing the same." Lily murmured, then blew him a kiss before turning back to her cooking. She gave a sigh, ears slightly limp as she picked up where she'd left off, hurrying through the preparations.

Arlen sighed as he sat down at the bar. Thinking for a moment, he retrieved a piece of paper and pen and began to write a note.

It wasn't long before the meatloaf was in the oven, and the potatoes frying. "Arlen, what do you want to drink?" she called as she stirred the later.
