Exxos I think that, if this game is intentionally paying out this much, it might be that they think it will alter the gaian economy by shifting cash from one group to another. But I think that I would rather think they are, as usual, just normal stupid. Because if they think THIS would be a way to adjust the economy, they are so stupid I don't even know... And for everyone who thinks my calling gaia stupid when they are earning money and the site is still around is in error. My point is that they do stupid things, rely on stupid things, and are not making as much money as they could be through less detrimental practices. gaia_nitemareleft I doubt they would have thought of something so complex as that. I think it's mostly like some one went "hey wouldn't it be cool if..." and then they did it. About Gaias way of making money. I agree that their business idea doesn't seem to be on a really sustainable ground. The recent pop-up ads and "hey spend more money... please... pretty pleaaaase?" kind of messages isn't very assuring. I like Gaia as a place to hang out with friends and some of the games are nice, but they made the site too big. Now they can't anymore sustain all the gimmicks after the first hype has calmed down and the amount of users has normalized. gaia_angelright

Basically, gaia is pulling as much money as they can out of the teens with money group while driving away new membership and older membership. Fewer people are coming in to replace those going out, the most loyal are leaving, and gaia is going to see their cash-cows age and leave the site without enough new people to fill it in. As they focus more and more on their cash cows and spite the rest of us, they are going to push themselves to the point where they will have to make a tough choice, won't, and the company collapses.

do you have any traffic lights like this in your area?
there is this intersection in salt lake city Utah and it may look peaceful from satellite but sadly it is total mayhem on the ground
2100 so main street
one car per left turn ON A RED there is no other way to make a left here at all without breaking the law, even busses and cabs have to do this to get thru the intersection they have no arrow so each car turning left MUST run the red light to make a left still the city says no need for an arrow here eek if your in a hurry dont try to make a left here go up one block to state street and make a left at the arrow and then find a side street to head west to main street and then get on main street geez thats a real time saver??????? ajajajajajajajaja
so do have any traffic lights in your area where you must run a red light to make a left turn? tell us here

There might be still some who spend it big, but those who spent couple dollars every month seems to be leaving. There's no point in putting in small amounts into the site when you don't get as much back as you did previously. The economy is being suffocated by the inflation and Gaia would need an actual plan to keep things going. Right now it looks like that they don't have a plan and are just "doing stuff". I might be wrong but that's how it seems to users. What the plan should then be? Well it's tricky but if they want to control the inflation, I'd say that one thing would be that they need to tone down the methods of grinding gold. I think right now you can create too much "free gold". Hey and welcome! whee In Finland, the road administrators love roundabouts. I think the traffic light sections work fairly good, depending on the city though, but the ones that don't have lights are trickier. You have to make note whether it's so called equal intersection so you have to give way to people coming from your right or if it's an "triangle intersection" when you have to give way to everyone else coming from other directions. Some times the signs are in the dark corners so you might not see which one it is. stare gaia_angelright

If weeping angels ("weeping angels" are what they call those sad angel statues on old buildings) only move when your not looking, then nobody has ever seen the way they move... so for all we know, they could skip or twirl or aggressively chicken dance toward a person, just really quickly...
*image in head* the twerking angels.
...maybe the reason they're always weeping is because no one ever gets to see their sick moves. smile

What the plan should then be? Well it's tricky but if they want to control the inflation, I'd say that one thing would be that they need to tone down the methods of grinding gold. I think right now you can create too much "free gold". To put it in perspective, when we started on Gaia, with the exception of some major items of extreme rarity like the demonic halo, the average massive gold item was 150,000 to 190,000 gold. We see items enter the marketplace at double that. So I think that it is more than just the free gold; it's the free gold, the cash to gold drip, and the item influx. The only idea I have that I know would work, at least partially, is to even the chances of all items in RIGs. 25 items in a RIG, you get a 4% likelihood on all of them. This would result in more sales, as people would be more likely to accept the odds and more likely to be able to buy/sell things they do not want at an average/fair price; undermine the cash to gold economy, and create a small plateau to work out from. I think this would be the only thing gaia would be able to consider. It does not fix the inflation (which they do not want to fix because it is fueling their income), but it would net gaia more sales.

Still, the thought of a angel statue twerking is making me grin like an idiot. haha

They're not really called "weeping angels" outside the show, and the lore you're talking about is, in fact, from the show as well.
