ProtoXtreme Most upsetting thing... Today's mother's birthday...so I went and got her a cake... Managed to get home all right and then I go to the fridge...full to the brim. So I cleared out the bread and stuffed the cake on the bottom, then tried to put the bread on top of some dishes...fridge won't close... So I pulled the bread out again...a large dish went crashing through and onto the floor, breaking apart... I suppose it's some small consolation that nothing got onto my uniform...was crying very bitterly while cleaning and vacuuming the kitchen...and during that and after got several cuts on my fingers from the broken porcelain... I hope the blood didn't get anywhere...Mother and father are going to be furious...it was one of the few big dishes that you can't even find around Chinatown anymore... *sniff* ... emo What am I going to do...it was all supposed to go well...I even hauled home newspaper for her...there's the broken comb that was mum's favorite that I have to tell her too (from a few days ago)...she haven't realized that was missing...yet...I hid the pieces in my drawer... This tops my day...and to think that painfully long Physics Regents was my worry about a short while ago...
Wait didn't something bad happen you when you brought your dad a cake or some sort as well.

Wait didn't something bad happen you when you brought your dad a cake or some sort as well. Yes... -_- I'll never forgive those damned pigeons (had declared blood feud on them)! Wait! I remember I still have extra glass stones from that deformed cheap Go set I - or rather, my DEAR STINGY AUNT in China - bought (another complaint from last year...China's glass Go stones...AWFUL...wrong sizes, all of the stones were different sizes!!!!), before mum and dad got me the actual goban/slate+clamshell stone set! >=O *stares* They can be put to good use... *laughs evilly* ...on a less macabre note...mum and dad forgave me. The only problem lies in SAT results and report cards tomorrow... xP *sigh*

Yes, dear Cheerios. I think I may be a bit insane insisting on staying up until midnight to see if the SAT scores are up yet...eh...maybe I'll just got to bed and check tomorrow... >_>''
Yep Onix, my stone set is Yuki - made in Japan and the clams came from that prefecture (whose name currently escapes me). They are quite the beauties (the white stones) - the clamstones come in three types: Jitsuyo, Moon, and Yuki depending on which section of the shell it's cut from. Yuki stones are very expensive though, they are cut closest to the edge of the shell thus there's less clam shell going around to make stones; where I ordered from only had one offered diameter/thickness. You can still see the shell lines like Jitsuyo or Moon clam stones, just that they are very faint and the grains are very fine.
My goban is Shin Kaya, made of Alaskan Spruce. Though I do feel sorry for the poor thing since it's more sitting there acting as an extra table rather than for playing. xDD My parents had a match against each other and started fighting, apparently mum accused dad of cheating... O_o

lol. nobody in my family knows how to play so i could cheat if i wanted lol but its no fun to cheat it just ruins the game. and i have two cheap set i got. the first is a little magnetic set it was cheap as hell but i love it ^_^. then i got a flat board with no legs and a cheap set of single convex stones. i want double convex cuz they are easier to play and sit in your hands easier. i mostly use it for replaying games(which i don't understand the logic too yet sweatdrop ) and those little drill things that you can do to get your instincts sharper. (they help somewhat.) and lastly i use it when i play myself. its a real confidence boost cuz i always win XD.

Speaking of the magnetic set, I was thinking of getting it. It would be nice to have a portable set I can actually bring to school (since will be having more free time in Senior year - NO MORE barely-competent Spanish teachers!!!! ;D) and play with my friends. My best friend and her sister knows how to play, and I got another friend interested. ~^_^~
