Ukaia blinked startled. She opened her mouth and then shut it quickly.
Leaving? He was leaving? As in forever he was leaving lily the in everyone? how could he do that? The questions raced though her mind.
(And with that Ukaia gets to jsut sort of black out right there.. bed time for me. Night!!))

Lily went rigid with shock, then drew away from him, too stunned to cry yet. "Wh-what? You're... you're leaving me? But... we were supposed to get married." she whispered, looking rather horrified.

Arlen was terrified when he realized the mistake he made. "No, it's not like that," he said hurriedly, reaching out for Lily. "It's only for a few weeks or so. I will come back and we will get married," he assured her.

Lily still looked lost, pulling away for a moment longer before she reached out and wrapped her arms around him, clinging to him tightly as the tears started. "Why?" she whispered, trembling.

Arlen clung back. "I need to learn how to control my abilities, but there's a limit to how much Master Guan can teach me about them and I'm already at it," he explained quietly. "The leading monks of his order can't be in the same place for some reason so I have to go to them."

Lily was silent for time, simply crying into his shoulder. Even if she understood why he needed to leave, she didn't like the thought of him being gone. And for so long... "Arlen... I'll miss you." she whispered at last, eyes squeezed tightly shut.

"I'll miss you too," Arlen said, stroking Lily's hair and tearing up a bit himself. "I wanted to tell you first, but Mom demanded that I tell her what was wrong last night," he said, deciding it was best to get it out of the way now.

"She's hard to say no to." Lily whispered; she might have gotten angry, if she hadn't been so sad. "When will you need to leave?"

"I still have a few days, but Master Guan says I need to be gone by the end of the week," Arlen said, hugging Lily to him like his life depended on it. "I'd promise to write, but I don't think I'd have any way to send letters to you."

"I-it's okay. We'll see each other in our dreams, right?" Lily whispered, trying to be brave and strong, though her voice quavered and tears still ran slowly down her cheeks. "And you'll be back..."

Lily nodded, then sniffled before shifting so she was laying back on the couch, pulling him down with her. The end result had him slightly on top of her, his head cradled to her chest. "I love you Arlen." she whispered, running her fingers through his hair. "We should get some sleep."

Having taken Eros's saddle off and brushed him down she walks into the muffin shaking her head. The moon couldn't have done that. It just didn't seem right. It was too freaky.
