"An Aerodactyl?!" Nina exclaimed. "Who the hell would have one of those? And... why would anyone want to take Kilik away?" She bit her bottom lip, and she listened to Mike commenting that she should get back to the hospital.
"I don't need to go back," she said; she was concealing the fact that she didn't like hospitals to begin with. "Mike, I'll be fine. But for now, I'm going to head to the Pokemon Center to talk with his Pokemon, to see if they can tell me if they saw a man or woman with the Aerodactyl or not. And Anna, I want you to stay with Mike. I'll be back in two shakes of Beacon's tail." With that, she looked to her friends, and took off before either of them could object.
"Nina, you idiot, get back here right now!" Anna called; this was in vain, however, because her trainer ignored her. She shook her head and hovered near Mike. "That girl makes me insane. Listen to me; I sound like I'm her mother or something." Anna was quiet after she finished her sentence. "Oh god, that reminds me... Mike, when I had gone back to the hospital to get Nina, I had overheard a couple of the nurses talking." She sighed. "This one nurse, Jane, said that Nina had a blood transfusion, and the blood they used was the identical type to her parents' and Sabrina's, yet Nina's body rejected the blood. Because of this... they believe that she isn't the birth child of Jessica and Michael, nor the true sister of Sabrina."

"Ariel!" Kasiya cried, her breath catching in her throat. The Gyarados was relentless, repeating the Thrash attack. Ariel grit her teeth and rolled to the side, narrowly missing being crushed. Kasiya lost sight of her behind the massive Pokemon's body, and she began to panic.
At this point, Shocker saw the Gyarados rise up, its deafening roar covering miles. The small mouse wasn't intimidated though, even as it grew larger with each step she took. She heard her trainer's screams, and knew it couldn't be going very well. Her chest ablaze, she arrived upon the scene in time to see the Gyarados bash Ariel's limp body again with its tail.
At that moment, something snapped in the Raichu's mind. Seeing her best friend attacked viciously like that just didn't bode well at all for the Gyarados. Scene by scene flashed across the Raichu's mind. A young Eevee delivered a tackle into a small Pikachu's stomach. The Pikachu retaliated with a poorly directed Thundershock... Eevee and Pikachu curled up in a sleeping bag with their trainer... A fully-grown Vaporeon and Raichu double-teaming their opponent with Surf and Thunder...
With a fearful cry, the Raichu charged. Using her superior speed to her advantage, she ran up the Gyarados' armored body before coming to a stop on the top of its head. She grabbed a hold of the spikes protruding from its head, using her tail for support as a shower of sparks started to rain from her cheeks. Using every once of power she could muster, the Raichu focused her energy into a massive bolt of lighting, which she directed with perfect control down onto the Gyarados' helpless body. There was a blinding flash, and a loud crackling, followed by a crashing noise. There, standing in front of the fainted Gyarados, was Shocker, static rippling across her body.

Mike grit his teeth at the stubborn girl. "I know what you mean Anna." Suddenly the ghost Pokemon revealed Nina's 'identity', or lack thereof. "What? That's insane!" He was taken back by this new information, and began thinking back to all the times he had seen Sabrina and Nina together. "She must have known."
He twitched, ever so slightly. Nina, not related to Sabrina? He had caught the trail of his master's thoughts, listening to the conversation he had with Nina and Anna. Portabello stood up, standing right behind the door to greet the girl when she dashed in.

"I'm not sure that Sabrina knew," Anna confessed. "If she did, I believe that she would have revealed that information to her parents, and they probably would have gotten around to telling Nina. But..." The ghost Pokemon sighed. "How can I possibly tell this to her? She's been through a lot recently, especially with what happened to Sabrina, but I believe that she has the right to know this about herself. I just wish that I knew the right thing to do."
Nina arrived at the Pokemon Center, and opened the door to walk inside. When she did, she was greeted by Portabello. "Oh, hello Portabello," she said, with a little bit of a smile. "Are Kilik's Pokemon with you? I need to speak with one of them.

I knew it. Mai turned from Kilik, putting her gun back from where she'd taken it. Giggles shifted impatiently on its feet, giving Mai a nudge in the arm with its head. The Rocket smiled an patted the Aerodactly, who calmed down significantly. "But yes, you are correct. Giovanni hasn't forgotten his grudge against you." She turned on one foot, her cold blue eyes fixed on him. "Maorde Menskr," she murmured, tracing her chin with her gloved fingers. "I knew it wasn't just a myth." She paused for a moment, and when she spoke again, her tone was different. It was full of actual warmth and concern, and a strange familiarity. "Your friend, Nina. Is she all right?"

Ky looked back at Crenu as he shuffled through the grass. "Yeah, I'm just collecting some more... Ah!" Ky jumped back when he saw what looked like a burst of flame from the grass. Losing his balance, he fell down on his rump. "What the...?" Ky looked at the parted grass and saw a slug-like Pokemon that looked to be on fire.

I have already taken all the information that is needed. Portabello cut Nina off before she could start another sentence. Scizor was unable to determine the identity of the rider of the winged beast and you my dear need rest just as much as they do. You humans are frail. Not accepting another word, the Breloom sat back down, closing his eyes.
Mike was out of suggestions, and stood there deep in thought.

"No!" Nina exclaimed, "that can't be! One of my very best friends is out there somewhere and probably in danger and I'm not just going to sit around here and wait for some information to fall into my lap!" She let out a sharp and almost irritated sigh.

Kilik shrugged his shoulders and slipped his hands into his pockets. "Hell if I know," he told her, looking off to the side. Part of him wondered if she really was okay. But it was Nina. She always found a way out of trouble when needed. "I'll let you know this, Mai." He looked at the Rocket Admin with woeful eyes and an expression of deep sorrow, "When I find Maorde, I'll make him pay for what he did to her. My love is hurt and there's nothing I can do about it." He ran over to the girl and grabbed her coat collar in his fists, "Not a thing!" his grip let go slowly and he fell to his knees before her. Kilik's fists grabbed her pants at her knees and he rested his head against her stomach. Tears streamed down his face. "Maorde...and Giovanni...Team Rocket..." he whispered. I HATE THEM ALL! he shut his eyes tightly at this thought.

Then what do you propose to do? The fighting Pokemon inquired. Rush in their while Kilik's Pokemon are in unstable conditions, possibly risking their lives? I think not. Portabello remained seated, but glanced back at the girl. Have patience, in mere moments they will be out, worry not.

"I don't know what I proposed to do!" Nina replied, a bit louder than she had intended. She paced around again, seeming extremely restless. She rubbed her eyes a couple of times with the palms of her hands. "If it was Mike in Kilik's position, you would be devising a plan to rescue him in an instant, and you know that as well as I do."

Portabello shifted, turning around to face Nina. His face was expressionless, his dark eyes looking right at her. Did I once say I was against planning? The Breloom wished the girl would stop yelling, her stream of thoughts and loud voice was giving him a headache. If you want to devise a solution, I would be more than happy to help, just calm down.

Nina bit her lip again, and continued to pace. It was becoming more apparent that she was restless, but it didn't seem to just be because of the stresses of finding Kilik. "I'm sorry, but I'm really worried about him," she replied. "Is... there anything that you can think of that we could do?"

Well, I do not know why anyone would want to abduct Kilik. The Pokemon pondered. Do you know of anyone who would want him in trouble? Does he have any enemies?
Ding! The pleasant sound of the Pokemon Center rang throughout the room, signaling that Kilik's Pokemon were healed.

"Enemies?" Nina repeated. "Not that I-- Oh! Giovanni! He's had an extreme grudge against Kilik since after he left Team Rocket the second time. But, I didn't think he'd stoop so low as to kidnap him for a second time. Clearly I was wrong though." She let out a little sigh. "If anything, Giovanni's probably gone to Viridian City Gym, because that's the main base of his operations. The last time I tried to storm the place didn't exactly go so well, though." Nina recalled the instance after Sabrina's death that she entered the Gym with vengence solely on her mind.
