"It's not too bad," Dark looks up, seeing the stars. "Nothing but clear weather since we stopped those legendaries... A bit strange for a sea-side town."

Maddy simply shrugged.
"I'm not gonna complain. I've been to places with worse weather."
Despite the amount of traveling she used to do, she quite liked staying in one place right now.
They passed by the museum, still covered in graffiti. Maddy couldn't help but chuckle.
"You made quite a mess for a cop." She pointed out.

"Weird isn't it? My job as a cop was to give the cops a hard time." He chuckles. "Well I mean contextually anyway."

The museum was now behind them and they were almost out of town.
"Once Archie is behind bars, are you going to leave us and go on to something else?"
As she asked, her expression turned sad and she found herself turning her head away so he wouldn't see.

"Oh..." She was silent for the rest of their excursion.
Eventually they were out of Lilycove and traversing through the tall grass. Maddy watched a few wild Pokemon scurry off into the forest as they walked by.

"So, anything you're interested in?" Dark asks as he reaches down to grab a Pokeball off of his belt.

"Not really." Maddy sighed.
She took a ball off her belt as well.
"I guess we could just beat up random Pokemon."

Dark spots a wild Shuppet and sends out his Pupitar, which grips a lucky egg.
"Brick, use Payback."
The Shuppet blasts Brick with a weak Night Shade. The Pupitar then summons all his anger and smashes into the ghost, dealing heavy damage and KOing it.
"I suppose that works... Unless you'd like to do something else?" He looks at Maddy, now worried over why she's become sad.

A Hoothoot fluttered out of a nearby tree, hooting loudly.
"Shut up!" Maddy shouted at it, letting out her Frogadier. "Ice Beam!"
The frog nodded and shot a powerful blast of ice at the owl Pokemon, knocking it out in a single blow.
Maddy crossed her arms.
"There's lots of things I'd like to do but can't right now."

A Zigagoon jumps out from the bushes. Dark sends out his Monferno who is also holding a Lucky Egg.
"Diddy, Close Combat!"
The Zigzagoon uses Quick Attack and lands a critical hit on the Monferno. Diddy stumbles back a bit before unleashing a tempest of punches and kicks upon the normal Pokemon. Zigazoon falls unconscious.
"Why not? It's not like we have things to do." Dark says as he sends out his Pupitar again. He takes both Pokemon's Lucky Eggs.

Maddy sent out her Magikarp as she was also approached by a Zigzagoon. After a flurry of Tackles from Magikarp and a combination of Quick Attacks and Tackles from Zigzagoon, Maddy's Pokemon fainted.
"I dunno what that was supposed to accomplish..."
She sent out her Houndour to defeat the already weakened Pokemon.
"Crunch!"
The attack finished off their foe.
She sighed and looked over at Dark.
"It's not a matter of not having enough time."

Dark spots a Murkrow and sends out his Kirlia. He then hands her a Lucky Egg. She sighs heavily and looks at the enemy Pokemon.
"Dazzling Gleam." He orders.
Murkrow attacks with a Night Slash, doing decent damage. It's then blasted by a powerful, weakness exploiting attack, and faints.
Misery lets out another sigh and begins poking the unconscious bird.
"Then I don't see what the problem is." He says in response to Maddy.

Maddy leaned against a nearby tree, not quite in the mood to battle anymore.
"It's complicated."
She glanced over at him, thinking about last night's events, and quickly turned her gaze up to the night sky. She was trying not to start blushing again.
"I think I got us a ref. Still might take a while for them to get here, though."

Dark spots a Sandshrew and sends out his Clauncher, who he gives the other Lucky Egg to.
"Water Pulse!" Dark orders.
The Clauncher glares at the Sandshrew and blasts a pulse of water from its claw, dealing good damage. The Sandshrew retaliates with Slash, hitting critical and bringing Clauncher down to low health.
"Water Pulse again!" Dark shouts.
His Pokemon fires another blast of water at the shrew, which hits and KOs the Pokemon.
Clauncher makes a 'wubwub' sound before he begins glowing. He then slowly begins changing shape and stops glowing, revealing a Clawitzer.
"Awesome, man." Dark says, congratulating his Pokemon. He then turns back to Maddy.
"Well that's cool. I still don't think you stand a chance... Maybe I should use my strong guys." He teases.
