Today’s the day! Zoe almost couldn’t sleep last night, she was so excited. Quidditch tryouts were today, and it was the closest thing to the sports she loved to play back home that she was going to find here at Hogwarts. She was familiar with the sport, obviously, but hadn’t done any playing like this before. Beater was her favorite position, swinging the bat at the bludgers was kind of like cricket. She could probably see herself as a keeper or a chaser, but definitely not a seeker. She didn’t have sharp enough eyes for that job. ”Zoe Fernsby, ready and willing to play,” she said to the captain and other players with an eager salute. Zoe filled out her application, submitted it, then began her stretching, excited to begin.

 Lily was full of nerves. She couldn’t for the life of her fathom why she had been asked to be Vice Captain, nor why she had agreed to it. But, it meant someone trusted her, right? She took a deep breath and let it out through her teeth. She could do this. It wasn’t like she really had that many responsibilities involved anyway. The stressful stuff was Lewis’s job. She could just sit there and look pretty. Or at least that was what she was going to tell herself. She flexed her hand tightly around her broom and took the last few steps onto the quidditch pitch.
Lily looked over the few gathered team members and put on a smile. She didn’t want everyone to know just how much she was freaking out. “Hello everyone,” she said, looking at each team member. She noticed a new first year had joined them on the pitch. She adjusted her posture and quickly filled out the try-out form, then returned to her position of standing and looking.

gaia_demonduck Quidditch gaia_duck Creature Club gaia_zombieduck ▬▬"A book is a dream you hold in your hand."▬▬ Naomi had been benched last year, after trying so hard to make the team. She shrugged, she was over it this year. She brought her book to tryouts, and prepared herself to be a bench warmer again. She filled out her form, and opted for Seeker once again, sure she wouldn't play this year, probably not the year after, but maybe by then she'd be done reading and would have some thrill needed in her life to play quidditch. Or have read enough about it to be a real pro. Erykah was a team favorite, she hadn't played either but people said hi to the nice Barlow sister. Naomi sighed - it was what it was.

gaia_demonduck Quidditch gaia_duck Creature Club gaia_zombieduck ▬▬"A book is a dream you hold in your hand."▬▬ Naomi enjoyed quidditch, even if she could never play the position she wanted, she was stuck as a chaser and that was..okay. At least she got to play when her sister didn't. She went onto the field once again for another year of tryouts - why had she decided to do quidditch? It was such a waste of time to her studying, and it only got worse as she had her Owls.

gaia_sakura Quidditch (reserve) gaia_sakura Adventurer's Guild gaia_sakura Art of the Sword gaia_sakura ▬▬"A wise man speaks because he has something to say, a fool speaks because he has to say something."▬▬ Erykah still hadn't played quidditch, but she wrote so many notes and asked so many questions, she was ready to either help on the field or continue plotting the demise of the other teams. Her curiosity was endless, and she loved learning how everything worked. She'd watched every play with a keen eye, jotting down thoughts on the players' strategies and techniques.
This tryout though, she didn't have her paper with her - she was focused to try and play this year, at least for this one tryout. She'd resume note taking during practices if she didn't make the team again - and that was okay!

Tambry was pretty excited for quidditch this year. Everly had graduated, meaning there was a main team Chaser spot open.... but on the downside, Everly had been a great teacher, so Tambry was a little worried. But there were more important things to think of... namely that Ravenclaw needed another win. It was so much fun! Probably even more so for the actual.... players. She swapped out of her pointe shoes, switching them for socks and boots laced with thick ribbon.
She grabbed her broom and tied her hair up into puffy pigtail buns, then hurried down. Everyone was gathering, which was exciting to see. Besides, it meant more people to practice against, which made things even more fun. Tambry collected the sign up form, quickly filling everything in, then stepped over to do some stretches she'd practiced in ballet.

Seoirse was secretly pretty excited. He'd seen the date for tryouts the very day that the very, very tall captain and head student had posted it. After some investigation, he'd discovered that Lewis Abrams was a Seeker, and an ace, at that. Perhaps that could be what Seoirse could try for? He knew he wouldn't care for Beater, since he didn't have the strength to make that spot work well.... but maybe Seeker? It was a critical spot, after all.
He continued pondering as he walked down to see the pitch in person for the first time. Wow, it was truly massive! He grabbed a sign-up sheet, quickly filling it out before returning it to the Captain. Following that, he grabbed one of the school brooms, trying to coax his magic over it to make sure they'd cooperate. It wouldn't do to be thrown from his broom during tryouts, now would it?

Lily brushed her hair back into a ponytail as she headed for quidditch tryouts. At least best she could. She wasn't quite used to how short her hair was considering it'd been long her whole life, but it was nice. It made her feel strangely more confident which was good for quidditch. So here she was. Well, plus she was sort of expected to be there, especially considering her role on the team.

The early fall breeze smelled great today. It smelled like a new chance to play her favorite sport: Quidditch. Zoe rushed onto the field, holding her gloves in her teeth and pulling her hair behind her into a weird bun-thing. She went with a pale blue for her color this year, perhaps in honor of her team's Quidditch Cup victory last year. And they were going to do it again this year! "Ready for a repeat, boss?" she said with a smirk to Lewis and Yarrick. Of course, they were going to practice hard. Couldn't rely on last year's efforts alone. She was up for the challenge, though. Plus, taking Advanced Flying this year, she was preparing to learn all new techniques and tricks to help her play the game. Filling out her form, she turned it in and started stretching.
