"I can imagine it would be," Ahren chuckled. "That would be like one of us waking up with an extra body part."

"Or missing some," Haradhel quipped. "Remember when Arwen discovered her gift?"

"Ahren came into the house screaming at the top of his lungs," Elrohir recalled with a grin. "Something about Arwen being only half there ..."

"She's quite fond of it," Ahren chuckled.

Leyenda leaned forward. "I know she can make herself invisible," she commented, "but I've never actually seen her do it."

"Perhaps when we go back we can ask her to show us," Kelirahc smiled. He chuckled. "Whenever it is that we go."

And all the while, Amalirahc kept passing bits of his meat across the table to Miyuki - at least, some of it was making it there. Most of it was getting stuck halfway. All the better for Senka.

"Leyenda, how did you find out about your gift?" Earendil asked curiously.

Leyenda smiled and flushed slightly, embarrassed. "Well ... I was out in a rowboat with Brian, and he steered us into the shipping lane. We were hit by a ship and I just about drowned. Would have if not for my gift manifesting."

"My parents were terrified," Leyenda smiled. "And I think it was the first time I actually started to listen a bit to what they said about Brian."

At Lin's admonishment about Senka, Amalirahc blinked up at her blankly. "Fat?" he repeated, mimicking her and Miyuki. "Kitty fat?"

"Huggy?" Amalirahc blinked. To him, 'huggy' was 'hungry' - Miyuki had learned to speak far more quickly than he had, and he still retained more baby talk than she did. He pushed more of his meat forward. "Kitty huggy! Eat!"

Leyenda giggled and reached out to take the meat back, putting it into Amalirahc's bowl again. "No," she told him, "not hungry. Too much food is bad for Senka."

Haldia giggled. "Do not want to unhealthy be, Senka," she teased the cat. "Do not so much eat."

Earendil chuckled. He was still amused by Haldia's syntax. "She's right though," he told Senka. "You shouldn't eat too much, it will get you sick and you won't be able to play and have fun like you always do."

Before much longer, the meal was over.

"Well, Lin," Elrohir murmured apologetically, "I'm afraid I have to get to work ... but it was wonderful to have you here, I do hope you'll come to stay again."

"Likewise," Arahad beamed. "It's always a bit more lively when you're around."

"And you, Haldia," Elrohir added, turning to Haldia. He smiled warmly at her. "It was a pleasure to have you here, and I do hope that you will come again someday."

Haldia smiled back and nodded. "Someday," she said agreeably.

And after a final farewell, Elrohir, Arahad and Ahren all headed out to work. Haradhel and Leyenda set about clearing the table, and since Haldia was already packed and ready to leave, she helped them out.

Earendil however still needed to pack, and he smiled at Lin. "All packed?" he asked her. "Or still working on it?"
