Meredith smiled weakly. The pleasure and gratefulness she felt in being able to hold Veroen's hand was indescribable. All she wanted right now was to know that he was there, that he wasn't going to be going anywhere. She wanted him to make sure she stayed here with him and couldn't go back to that other place, the plane between the living and the dead. She didn't want to walk there again. It was just too painful for her to. The things she'd seen ... she didn't want to go back there and be tempted by them again. The will to live was something strong within her but the need to nuture, to care for those who she loved, that was inescapable as well. And yet it was the reason that she was here and not there. If she'd listened to her children she knew she wouldn't be here any longer. Had they known she would die? Or had they been innocent in their desires? She would probably never know and chose to assume they hadn't known.
"Veroen ... I saw them. My kids ... I touched their souls but I couldn't cross to be with them ... I had to leave them behind ..."
The tears started again as she gently reached out to pull Veroen closer to her in order to have the person she loved closest to her. She was here because of him and also because of the strength of the wolf within her. The wolf saw now, though, that it's job was to watch over her and keep her safe, not to war with her. Through loss and tragedy they had become one in the same and now whatever Meredith saw the wolf did too and whatever the wolf spoke so did Meredith. The bond, perhaps had been what had truly saved them and even as they laid there strength was slowly pulsing back into them. After a few moments of tears without so much as a sob, Meredith simply ceased. The tears stopped and she looked up to Veroen with a bitter sweet smile.
"I did it, though. My wolf ... she protected me. And ... we're one in the same now. Sometimes we're more separate but right now we're just at peace."
It was hard for her to show much enthusiasm seeing as she was so incredibly tired but the smile she did muster showed it all. She was incredibly proud of herself for making it through the trial that'd been presented to her and she'd passed with flying colours. Well maybe not flying but since she was alive it was flying enough for her. Things seemed normal again, just calm and tranquil and though she knew the loss would forever weigh upon her soul she wasn't going to let it consume her. She had other things to live for that were right in front of her and as much as it hurt to know she'd failed her children she could only do what she was best at: keep on living. She'd continue living to assure that she didn't fail Veroen the same way. She'd be here for him no matter what.
"You know what?" She asked softly with a smile. "It was you who helped save me, too. I remembered what I'd be leaving behind if I just let go and I just couldn't do it. Everything was so clear, it was like another world and all I had to do was cross the line and I'd be there but I couldn't. I love you, V, never forget that."

Veroen blinked a few times at Edith's words. Her children were gone... Veroen was sad for her. He would not be able to give her children, but he was ok with that because she already had two growing inside her. But now... Now it was impossible for her to have kids as long as she was with him.
He slightly hung his head, but raised it when she pulled him closer to her.
"I'm sorry for your loss, Edith... I'm just glad you're alright."
He let out a sigh, as if he'd been holding his breath for the past 3 and a half hours. However, he didn't need breath.
"I'm glad to hear that you and your wolf understand one another..."
He glanced up at her as she said that it was he that helped save her too. He didn't quite know how, until she finished explaining.
"I'm glad I helped... I'm glad that I did something more than just rush you here... I felt helpless Edith. It was terrible... and all those people..." His face became slightly malevolent at the thought of what they almost did to her. "I murdered them all, Edith. I slew them all... I drank their blood, and dismembered them all to tiny pieces..." His face then became a bit regretful. Veroen had never killed people like that before.
He couldn't look at Edith as he spoke about this.
"Their bodies litter the street, there was so much blood...."
His hand balled up into a fist.

Meredith chose not to talk about the subject of her children any further for the sadness only made her feel tired and she didn't wish to sleep right now. She didn't want to think about her loss and that she'd carried them all these months in vain. Not to mention what Ceon would think. However, right now she was simply too delerious and numb to really think beyond the fact that she'd seen her children and now they were gone. Even that was a little hard to comprehend and her mind was numbing it all out for her because she was just too tired to deal with it right now. She only saw Veroen right now and only felt him there, that was her reason for drawing him close and hugging him. Her vision was still blurry and things just seemed surreal when her eyes fell upon them or when voices spoke to her but being able to feel him, that made him real. Made this moment real.
"It's alright ..." She whispered. "I should have run away when I had the chance instead of trying to convince them otherwise ... I would have done the same had I lost you ... And ... they took my children from me so I still would have hated them ... I know I would have. But not all people are like that, V, just remember that. Some of them would never do things like that and they'd be horrified of what happened. Please don't fight hatred with hatred ... I don't want you to hate ..." Her hand gently brushed his cheek as his hand began to ball in a fist. No more blood needed to be spilt on her account.

Veroen was soothed by her voice, and her soft touch to his cheek. His fist relaxed, uncurled, and rested on her hand.
"I'm sorry... I know not everyone is like that. And I will control my hatred, only cause I love you." With that a soft gentle smile crept onto his lips.

Eden smiled weakly at Veroen as he calmed down and relaxed, resting his hand upon her own. She was glad he was here. She wanted him close and to chase her horrible dreams away. Meredith knew her dreams would come to haunt her, to remind her of her kids and Reno. She didn't want that, she didn't need the reminders, they would be daily already without dreams. Reno had died two years ago and it was still a daily reminder for her. "Good. Remember that because I don't want you to become filled with hate. Hate filled people become monsters and I do not want you to become that. The void would probably consume your soul, too. I want you to always be with me, make sure you stay." She was partly babbling, it was pretty clear she was tired.

Veroen rubbed the top of her hand gently for a few moments, as she spoke
"I'll always be here, Edith."
His soft smile stayed on his blood covered face, as he looked upon her with love.

Veroen smiled, after reassuring his love that he was here to stay.
"You need rest, Edith. I shall leave, and let you recover. Remember, I'm still here to stay." And with those words, he leaned in and kissed her forehead, leaving a kiss mark, made of blood, instead of lipstick as a girl would.
He chuckled as he stood up, and softly smiled at her. He then turned, and exited the infirmary.

Slipping past Veroen as he left Mkvenner quietly knocked on the panels of the infirmary door as he let himself in, pausing in the doorway he held up right hand to reveal a PDA displaying the Hunters crest while the message that had summoned him scrolled lazily across the bottom of the screen. He cleared his throat as he foled away the device, intentionaly revealing a breif glimpse of the holstered Makarov as he did so. "I got a message through on the HIN didn't even know my old account was still active" he muttered with a faint london accent "I've literaly just got off the plane, so lets get a few things straightend out before we get down to business... One, how did you know I would be back in the game? Two, just what do you need me to do?". He leaned back against the wall with his arms folded as he waited for an answer 'bloody typical' he thought 'Didn't even get time to grab a shower'. He shook his head and sighed with a wry grin, at this rate he was getting to be a crotchety old man early.

Meredith stalked into the infirmary in almost synchronized timing in accordance to Mkvenner sending her his somewhat annoyed message. Her eyes at current were amber, reflecting the dual lycan persona that happened to be silent but present at current. "And thus the perk of being an ex-hunter. Whenever you come back within our district your comm will automatically reactivate and let us know that you're here if we so happen to need you. Unfortunately our comms don't let us know whether you've just gotten off a plane or not so I apologize for the inconvenience. I checked for active hunters that might be able to assist here for a time while I look into some other details that have been brought to my attention."
"So for one I suppose I just assumed since your comm activates pretty much no matter what if you're in our zone and seeing as I'm relatively new to leading, well, there you go. And for two I need you to watch over the lycan that's about to come in behind me. He doesn't realize he's a lycan and he was injured and being harassed by another lycan so I offered him a safe place to stay at haven. However, he is not a part of the hunters and doesn't realize his strength so I don't want Gail, our head medic, to be alone with him in case he has a fit of some sort. It's cautionary. I'm in the process of contacting another hunter to come in so if that's the case they can probably relieve you so that you can tend to your personal matters. Its just that things have been hectic especially as of late and the hunter ranks have been severely cut down the past year or so. We need all the help we can get."
The formerly spunk-filled, rash girl she had been was put into the attic for the time being in the hopes that she might later be able to go back and take it out to look at it and reflect. She'd grown as well as she'd been forced to change when becoming leader and now she had to look at things in a calculated manner as opposed to jumping the gun. Every action she took had to be taken into consideration before being made and that was where the calculative leader in her had been forced to emerge. Eden had been away for training, for discipline and she had not only come back stronger but wiser and more capable as a leader as well.
Had Mkvenner seen her in the time her brother had been leading the hunters, well, she would have been an almost entirely different girl to him most likely. However, past matters were to be left in the past unless they had some reason to be risen. At current she had no reason to be reminiscing about or missing her brother so she had to move on and think of here and now instead of what had been. Everyone knew, herself included that Will had always been more of a leader than she had ever been but that didn't mean that she wouldn't try to fill the shoes of leader. It was a difficult position but she was trying her hardest to do what was best for the hunters.

Kaiel walked in after the girl after she spoke, his face angled towards the ground, his shoulders hunched close. The young man looked miserable and pathetic has he came to a stop. His head jerked up when he smelled a few other people in the room. His jaws clenched nervously and he was starting to rethink his decision and was really starting to dislike the blindfold. He reached a hand to the shirt he was wearing and clenched the silky white material right above his heart. There was a pain in his heart at the smell of the clean, sterilized area. His other hand was tapping against his thighs as if it were so impatient to get to work it couldn't stand still.
His eyebrows crinkled in confusion behind the blindfold. This feeling was weird but he wasn't going to mention it. It was his to figure out, his to solve and deal with. Why did the smell of this room make him want to work though he felt pain in his heart? It happened at the hospital too though not as strong as it was now.
"I am not a....like that man, nor am I like you." He said quietly was he repeated his conviction again. He had to say it over and over again to convince himself that it was true. "I would never hurt anyone. I can't even protect myself against a monster that tears down trees so there's no way I'm anything that is not human." Of course he was unaware that his excellent nose and hearing were irregular for a human.

Seeing he was in the presance of authority Mkvenner pushed himself off the wall into a more upright poise to show a little respect, stepping into someone elses shoes was never easy, holding out a hand to shake he nodded in understanding "Fair enough miss, probably snapped a bit back there" grinning slightly he shrugged "We do seem to be a dying breed, I've been helping out the London cell.. place's hit some rough times recently." Slipping his hand back into his pocket he stepped back away from Meredith to give himself as much room to manouver as possible, the warm half smile had dropped to reveal a steely air of professionalism. Unholsteing the Makarov as a precaution he flicked off the safety and nodded to Meredith "Well then, down to business... let's see the mutt". Carefully keeping out of the way as the blindfolded Kaiel entered the room Mkvenner began to circle round him slightly as he watched the newly blooded lycan sniff the air, trying to gauge just how sharp the creature's senses were without getting in too close. Crouching down near the wolf, although not so near as to be within grabbing distance, he sat and watching every tiny movement Kaiel made intently as he listend to his quiet mutterings, when Kaiel began clutching at his shirt front he paused and looked up at Meredith quizzically. "When exactly was he bitten?" he asked quietly as he stood and backed away "And do you want me to have 'the talk' with him?"

The hunter leader took a deep breath and thought of how the hell she was going to explain Razu's, no Kaiel's situation. This was definitely going to be a challenge and it would require a bit of faith on the older hunter's part to believe her when she gave him the take on what was going on. Yeah she didn't know why she always ended up in retarded, crazy situations but here she was trying to protect him from a friggin' lycan who'd been the one to turn her and who she'd made plenty of mistakes with. Did it ever end? Didn't seem so but it was her duty as a hunter to protect the innocent whether those were vampires, lycans or demons.
"This is gonna sound ******** up but he's been a lycan ever since I've known him so he's not exactly new to this. It's a matter of memory loss and he doesn't recall anything or realize what he is. There's no point in arguing with him or having a talk with him about something he cannot comprehend and is going to deny. I simply want you to watch him and make sure Gail is free to work on him without any risk of anything happening that she can't control. I doubt he'll react but you never know so that's why I'm asking you to stay here. Basically you're babysitting and I know you're overqualified, it's not an insult to you but I don't have the time to run around looking for the perfect hunter for the job, you know?"
The hunter leader was fidgeting and looking toward the window that happened to be in Gail's office. Her eyes seemed to say that she had something else to do and that she wanted to escape and her fidgeting was a result of her trying to keep control over her impulses and not simply take off. She was a leader, she needed to explain things as opposed to just disappearing without so much as a word of where she was going or what she was doing.
"Anyhow I have other business to attend to at the moment and I'll try to be back as soon as possible. If Gail finishes fixing him up and you two are sick of sitting in here feel free to escort him through haven. However, by no means are you to take him outside of haven until I return. If anything happens, keep me updated. I have a comm too and you have a means to contact me. Sorry this is so disorganized and brief but I really need to go."

(Just typical, my bloody router blew up, AGAIN stressed , Sorry I didn't message in to explain sooner I'm only just back online at last)
Listening patiently as Meredith explained Mkvenner kept a careful eye on Kaiel as a better picture of the rather sorry looking lycan came into light "Your right, it does sound pretty ******** up" he grunted as Medrith finished apologetically "But I think I can handle a little babysitting duty" He grinned "We all have to do it sometime". Getting back to his feet as Meredith hustled toward the door he politely held it open for her before jokingly calling out after her retreating back "I guess you owe me a drink sometime". Letting go of the handle he allowed the door to swing slowly closed with a creak, the grin had faded, now he was all business. Slowly he began to circle Kaiel again, making sure the wolf heard each step untill he picked up a chair and placed it in front of him. "So you the poor b*****d I'm going to be taking care of eh?" he mused before sliding the chair to Kaiel with a booted foot, "Sit" he said forcefully, yet softly. Pulling a second chair round for himself he dropped into it and began to gently massage his right knee "This could be a long night".

Kaiel tipped his head, following the sound of the man's heavy footsteps. In a way he missed the she monster who called herself a Lycan. "I am, I suppose. Does it make you mad that you have to watch a human?" He jumped when the sound of a chair scrapped across the floor and bump into his legs. He grabbed the chair firmly in his hands and felt sat down in the chair backwards. He rested his chin on the back of the seat, his arms laying on his legs.
"When exactly is this Gail to come?"

NPCing Gail:
The on-site medic offered a pleasant smile as she made her way into the part of the infirmary where Kaiel and Mckvenner were. She waved to Kaiel then extended her hand, offering to shake his hand before she started prodding him to see what all was wrong with him. She was a medic and had to deal with a lot of shenanigans but she still knew her manners and common courtesy. In her other hand she held a clip board where there were a few things she could check off and fill out.
"Hello, my name's Gail. Meredith told me your name's Kaiel but she never mentioned your friend's name over there." She gestured to Mckvenner with her clip board and awaited a response as to who he was. "I'm assuming you are, however, the hunter she mentioned that she was going to leave with me just in case I required any assistance. Either way welcome to you both."
