"They're what we use for light under the water. They glow and come in many colors, though the ones you find naturally are an eerie pale yellow phosphorescent color."

"That sounds great. I have some blue ones I use for my shell. I think I have three...that's not really enough to light this entire place...but I can go get them and bring them back here. we can see what they look like against the walls."

"Yes Sir!" She smiled and waved as she slipped under the water and toward her shell. Maybe she'd grab her blanket while she was there too...and her hairbrush and hand-held mirror and comb...and maybe a pillow...

While she was gone Proteus moved about the cave trying to figure out what was needed and trying to think up how he could make it happen.

Naida entered her shell and quickly found the glow stones. She grabbed an over-the-shoulder sack from her wardrobe and tossed them in, then grabbed her blanket off of her bed and wrapped her mirror, brush, and comb up in it and deposited them in the now bulging bag. "Aw...no room for my pillow...I'll just have to use Proteus..." She smiled sadly as she looked back at her shell. She'd come back for her other stuff. After she taught Proteus how to swim. Yeah... that was the plan. She sped out the door and back to the cave.

Proteus grinned at her when she got back, "Missed you."

"I missed you too." Naida took the bag off her shoulder and and opened it. "Ok...glow stones are at the bottom..." She took out her blanket and then got to the glow stones. "There! One...two...three!" They caused a pale blue light to bathe the cavern. "What do you think?"

"Wow..." Proteus blinked at the stones. "Those are pretty cool..." He waved his hoof and the stone floated up to the walls of the cave, casting their cool blue light. "Not too shabby..."
