he stopped stock still and in mid stride and turned to face her his face was solem, "i... i am touched by your words. it does mean a lot. i do believe i will reside in this realm, at least for a few years. as for being different, there has been much battleing and pain thus far for me,and it seems not so different at all, other then for you... therefor m'lady, you are my reason to stay. and i will glady stay here for many a year as i have many many many more to come in my life. you are the first and only non animal that its, friend ive ever really had. i will stay in this realm indeed. besides, my Extremely limited magical knowleadge is not enough to portal out. though with the spell book i posses i might eventually be able to though you are more suited to spell casting then i am," he took off a mock hat and sweapt down into a long bow taking her hand and kissing its back, "you have captured my heart m'lady, here is where i belong at this moment," the was a coy rougish smile on his face when he arose and whispered in the glow she provided, "we should make haste though as i have never been that grand with words."

he reached in and gave her a sharp pinch on the arm and she jumped, "yup, you are real as am i," he said with a sly smile and wink, " thats all that really matters. reality is how you see it lass. nothing more. open your eyes zahar, to where you are now and what you are now, you are no monster but a beautiful young girl out on an adventure with some strange creature who has befriended her and has gained a friend in return. you have many questions about the past and many horrid feelings about it as well. they key thing you have to do is step out of the past and into the now. those times when i have been blessed to see a warm smile in your eyes are times i will treasure always. and i hope that i can help to keep that smile there for good soon enough lass," he cleared his throat," no as i was saying, let us not linger in this place any longer," he said in a truimphant tone with a broad smile on his face.

he blinked and his eyes went a little sad though she could not see them. the rest of his form remained impassive. he had no culture. he was a worthless halfbreed. probablly the only one of his kind to exist, and that ever would exist. the topic had always pained him to think on, " well," he said in a chipper voice, "i... i am one of a kind... there are no others like me, nor will there be in the future, of this i am certain. so.. really i have no culture, no heritage.. all i have is my lineage and thats about it. and i mean... i slew my own father for Bahumet' s sake. so i dont really have that any more either," he laughed from his belly, "ive been to many cultures, both good, evil and chaotic and lawful and pretty well every mix in between. so im afraid my story is very short. my culture is who i am and who you see me as and what i say and do," he it hang at that not really knowing what else to say on the topic, but he always enjoyed her questions and turned and gave a smile.

" if you keep at your dress like that there will be nothing left of it at all lass," he said in jest, "we are comming up to a fork here, though it looks as though one leads into a room, and if youve noticed we have been heading up for the last while. i believe, though i could be wrong that we are heading to an exit."

"look to the shadow. where the light rounds the corner there.. well perhaps your eyes cannot see it. that may be a good thing. look ahead to where the drakness seems so complete if you focus on it youll see there is an alcove or room there. also listen to your foot falls and the echo. you can tell that there is a room by the excess revribrations."

he smiles, "if you are afraid, confront your fear and that will help for sure. i concur, we may find some information as you wanted to find earlier. besides that, i feel as thought its right for me to do. ya know. well i suppose you wouldn't but yeah we shall take a look for sure," they walked another 50 feet or so and sure enough there was the room, "stay here for a moment while i take a look," he looked to mavrick and held up his hand and the giant rodent sat by Zahar's feet,"i will be back in a minute when i know the room is clear," he crept to the corner and peared around it. zahars light did not reach into the room. but jsut brightened the light in the doorway. he turned and signaled in the hand language fo the drow, drop your light radius as low as you are comfortable. not all the way out though please

he shot her a wink doubting she could even see it and crept silently into the room fadeing with the dark and shifting his eyes to the infrared spectrum. the room was a circle of cut stone with an alter or some such thing in the center with a single step up to it. the heat signature varried. there was a cool form laying on the stone slab. it was about 4 feet tall. a childlke build. the body had some heat, but almost none. as thought it was a cooling corpse. the head however had a verry cool spot where the face was. a Mask! like Zahar! he walked over to the body hopeing the small being was still alive.

he looked to the rest of the room cursing his carlessness. how could he have been so stupid as to not scope it out first. his lapes in judgment was perfectly acceptable this time as the rest of the room was bare save for a book case with many old tombs the body on the slab was a boy and he was dressed in a loose shirt and black silken pants. there was not a lick of dust on the body it self but the dust that surrounded it stated that it had been here and undisturbed for a VERY long time. he scratched his chin. and stared at the chest noting that it rose and fell once. and did not do so again. he stared at its chest noting a major heat spot where its heart was. its brain was also still heated...

the body had to be in some kind of stasis. wizards from the plain of time or a few extremely powerful wizard in a prime material plane could perform such a feat. he rest a hand on the young boys forhead. noting the shape of the mask. and how it had a pair of delicate curls on the right side. he had a short cut of hair as well. after mear seconds of his hand on the mask the boys body erupted into the appropriate heat signatures of true life and his eyes snapped open and his head snapped up and a mental shout projected into his mind, "WHATS HAPPENING TO ME! STOP! HELP!," the voice caused him to take a step back but the boy fell to the stone again passed out. he blinked in confustion noting indeed that the boy was still alive and well. he had to get Zahar and he shouted shifting his eyes back to the normal spectrum, "ZAHAR!!! COME QUICK AND BRING YOUR LIGHT!"
