i try really hard to take care of my books...
of all 6 harry potter books i only have the goblet of fire and the half blood prince left
ive had the 2nd and 3rd books twice but they are dead now sad

I have a first edition hard back copy of the 3rd book complete with all the typos and grammatical errors xd I love it.
Sadly, my GoF is paperback, so I don't think it will fare so well. The first 2 are okay as paperbacks since they are so small. Everyone in my family reads all my HPs because I'm the only one that buys them.
It's okay if I yell at them to take care of my books because they are my family :D

all mine were hardcover
hardcovers are no safer from me then paperbacks
they just take longer ninja

Ideally you read those when the next book is already available and preferably on hand.
