Savoki Sanoci Hit and run occurred in my neighborhood this morning. So yeah, alot of s**t is happening even at the end of June. Thus far on the list of Celebrities dead this month starts with David Carradine, then we go even further with the death on the same day with Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett . Next is Billy Mays and now possibly Rick Astley if the rumors are right. But man this month is like the Reaper's Christmas.

Why does everybody gotta hate on the Super Mario Bros(1993) movie?
Just re-watched it and then looked at some reviews and was shocked to see how hard it was bashed. Its not my ideal Mario movie but they did the best with what they had. Lack of both the impressive CGI tech we have today and the lack of any great storyline in the game forced them to improvise.
And if you follow the initial premise and take it to be more of a origin story which substitutes the magical aspect of the games with more of technology base then things make sense.Because that's how I took it and I got some real enjoyment out of it. They did a good job of trying to explain how things came to be.
I bet if they had made a sequel a couple of years down the line with better CGI, it would sync nicely with the games since the ending leaves us with the Mario Bros possessing hopper shoes which explains why they jump like jackrabbits, fireball throwers for the fireflower power-up and bowser looking like bowser(pre-ameba so basically, if he was able to revert somehow). All they would have to do is add some Koopa Troppers and make the action take place along the route to some new hideout that Bowser had setup when he returned from that ooze-like state. Fully possible considering that de-evolution rays don't kill.

Not to say it was bad myself; it wasn't anything I'd really want to watch now, but it wasn't bad either. People just weren't used to mediocre and Mario in the same sentence when it first came out; Mario Party's done that nicely nowadays, however.
Also, damn I must still be tired. I botched the bbcode in this post like ShamWoW Hooker and her face.

That's why Transformers 2 got such a bad write up-- it was a fun movie with a lot of action, but the story wasn't the best, and even in some parts really didn't make much sense. If I want action, I'm probably going to pick a martial arts movie over anything else.
Because good martial arts flicks are Justice. *puts her hands on her hips and beams* biggrin
