Gah! My new laptop is ready to be picked up when BestBuy opens at 10...but someone called in sick to work, so I have to stay here until at least 11...or beyond. gonk
Tomorrow morning will be exactly 2 weeks since I've had any computer usage at home. emotion_omnomnom

Now for the bad news...
Timeline:
January 31st: I have a $10 BestBuy coupon that expires on this day.
I have no idea what to even get, so I decide on wireless network stuff.
I buy said item on this day.
February 1st or 2nd: Computer dies.
February 15th: new laptop picked up from store.
It then dawns on me just before I'm about to get my online stuff set up that the laptop I got doesn't have a CD drive and the install software for the network that I never got a chance to install because my computer died a day after buying it is on CD. emotion_0A0
I just haven't used a CD drive in years and didn't care that the laptop didn't have one when I ordered it.
So, when I get home later, I'll see if I can still somehow do it without the drive since the network is detecting other networks in the area. If nothing else, I'll plug it up to where my desktop was and just keep it there until I get another desktop to set up the wireless network or see about getting an external CD drive. emotion_omnomnom

Thanks, Zel. Turned out my laptop was advanced enough not to need the install CD. It just auto-detected my wireless router and was good to go! surprised I posted in the MegaCon thread. I'm going to be working all weekend now. emotion_8c

TheRob That's in almost exactly 7 months from now. burning_eyes gonk Yeah, I believe I should be finishing school around then. Avoiding distractions will help me get my own personal stuff straightened out too. Putting everything into perspective...
