Train looked around the path. She was actually glad nothing had popped out and attacked them. She wanted to train Oddish against the rock pokemon in Mt. Moon, so that she would get used to facing that type of pokemon. Train also hoped that Oddish would be able to become friends with her.
She kept walking, and paused as she neared Mt. Moon. Still a little bit away, Train look at how high it rose, then dropped her gaze back to the entrance. She knew how to get in and out, but she wasn't fond of the dark spots. Especially not since that scare she'd had with the Geodude.
"Alright, Pikachu. Here we go again!" She said, breaking into a run and heading straight for the cave, Pikachu following right next to her.

Whitney stared on to the arena, a hand on her hip and a moderately puzzled expression on her face. Yeah, okay, she thought. Looking over to the battle that was occuring between Miltank and Larvitar, she winced slightly as she saw her Pokemon get struck, being knocked backward like a pinball. It seemed that Larvitar was oblivious to the cow's charms when she was curled up like that.
A bit dazed, tattered, and bruised, but otherwise fine, Miltank uncurled herself, realizing she wouldn't be getting anywhere with that attack. She, like Whitney, knew Attract would only wear off when Larvitar was knocked out, and desired to take full advantage of the move's incapacitating results for as long as possible.
On the other side of the arena, Castform was in a bit of a pickle himself. Its own Rock-type attack was sent barreling back towards him, yet due to the speed the ball was approaching, no Pokemon would be able to dodge. Whitney knew that, too. "Castform! Use Protect so that you don't get hurt! Miltank, use Basketball Dunking Technique, number two!" She grinned.
Castform quickly created an impenetrable mystic shield which entirely encompassed his body in a circular shape. The Weather Ball crashed into Castform's temporary shield, smashing instantly. The Pokemon looked over to its partner, knowing full well what was coming next.
Miltank, having mostly recovered from its previous attack, dashed over to Castform and picked the Pokemon up using its free hooves. Looking towards Ariados, who was now falling from the air it had been suspended in due to its performance of Shadow Ball, the cow jumped straight for the spider. Castform was still inside of its circular Protect shield when Miltank flung the Pokemon downward, by use of a Seismic Toss attack, aiming directly at the spider with little time for a reaction.

"Oh crap! Ariados, brace for impact!"
That was all Ariados could do with the time given, she crossed her legs in front of her body and took the hit as best she could. Castform boled her over like a set of pins and sent Ariados spiraling towards the ground. She continued to side the Sandstorm as best she could to lessen her fall, but it was still a hard hit. With wobbly legs Ariados managed to stand and looked at her opponents with resentment.
"Let's go Ariados, Contrict that Castform! Larvitar, jump now and hit Miltank with all you've got! Thrash!"
Ariados hesitated a little, but shook it off and spit a coiling strand of tough silk at Castform in an attempt to capture the pokemon and squeeze the life from it. Larvitar on the other hand took a more direct approach, his eyes lost all sign of conscious though as he rushed forward and jumped for Miltank. His infatuation, his concern, everything disappeared, only a lust for battle and the will to hurt remained and took over. His pupils dilated as he went for her, swinging his fist wildly and with incredible power.

Mag checked the scene now that most of the explosion energy and smoke had cleared. Torkoal was of course okay since it had used Protect. Grimer was of course, a blackened puddle that was obviously knocked out. Mag now looked to his own pokemon. There was Sunfire... and no one else! But wait! Sunfire was huddled over a smaller brown package, Shining! Unfortunately the Flareon was knocked out but it seemed that he had protected Shining from being hit by the blast of Explosion. "Thanks buddy. We'll make sure to win the rest for you." Mag said as he recalled his fallen partner.
"It's all up to you know Carley!" Biff said as he recalled his Grimer. "Yeah I know, not like it'll be a challenge though." She said with an air of superiority. "We'll see about that." Mag said as Shining barked with determination. "Quick Attack!" Mag ordered. Both of the pokemon on the field were below half their energy but it looked like Shining was a little better off than Torkoal. Mag took a quick gender check, well Torkoal looked male... it was kinda hard to tell with a turtle.
Shining smashed into Torkoal with ease and was already out of it's range as it tried to shoot of a weak Ember attack. "Now use Attract!" Shining nodded and then making a cute pose she shot of several dozen red hearts in Torkoals general direction.

The Gym Leader stared at the Larvitar for a moment; Miltank must be losing her touch, she thought. "Miltank, we 're not going down yet! Wait 'til that Larvitar gets close, and then..." She made a fist with her right hand and slammed it into the palm of her left, causing a loud SMACK! Heck, what else could Miltank do but protect herself from the smaller Pokemon's attack? Running forward to meet Larvitar, she readied herself to strike. She'd make sure this one counted.
"Castform, it's time to go back to what worked from the start! Rain Dance!" Despite the fact that Castform's body had been wrapped in the silk that Ariados shot at him, he didn't need to move to summon the rains again. Looking up to the tip of the vortex that caused the sandstorm --before everyone on the battlefield, save Larvitar, were struck, that is-- a dark black cloud formed, dispersing the vortex and sending raindrops down onto the battlefield. Castform changed its shape again; its head was surrounded in a giant raindrop while its lower body turned black and resembled a stormcloud. His part had been done in helping Miltank.

"That's right Ariados, now use Night Shade again!"
Crenu didn't bother to give Larvitar any orders, he was in a frenzy now and would only come out if it on his own. Larvitar took on Miltank full throttle, colliding with th epokemon and simply dishing out attack after attack. He punched, bite, kicked, headbutted, whatever he could do with his body one right after another, not caring if he hit or not. Ariados was still focused on the battle however, and was able to take orders from Crenu. She tugged on the silk restraints that heald Castform and made them tighter. As she did this, sh sent the same black aura of energy darting up the string that connected her to Castform.

As the electric doors of Devon closed behind him, Mike, with Camerae still in his arms, began the trek to the Pokemon Center. Along the way, he made sure to point out things of interest to his Pokemon, who curiously darted his eyes back and forth. After a good ten minutes or so of walking, they reached the Center, it's large red roof and glass doors a welcome sight to any Pokemon trainer. "This is the place you go when you're tired." said the boy in a matter-of-fact tone as he stepped through the doors. The Nurse looked up, noticing the new Pokemon in his arms.
"Ah, that's why you were tearing off like a Zubat out a' hell earlier." She said, raising an eyebrow and holding her hands on her hips.
"Yeah, sorry ma'am." replied the boy, a sheepish grin on his face as he quickly walked to the PC in hopes to avoid the nurse. After logging in, he held up a pokeball he had received from the scientist in the lab. "I'm gonna put you in this, then send you to my mother. She's a very nice lady, and will treat you very well." Camerae's face was blank, Mike was using too many words at once for the young Pokemon to understand. "Ah, some time with mom and my other Pokemon will help you with that." He clicked the Pokeball, a red beam retrieving the prehistoric squid inside.
After placing the ball inside the slot, Mike dragged Camerae's icon to his mother's PC folder. He then placed Titanium in his pending trade, but not before attaching an embedded note to the transfered Pokemon.
Dear Mom,
The Pokemon I am sending you is different than most. He is an Omanyte revived from a fossil, and as you can surmise, quite new to the world we live in. His name is Camerae, and I want you to be extra gentle with him. He is a Rock/Water Pokemon, so maybe he'll get along well with Shiver.
Thanks in advance, Mike
After clicking the send button, he watched Camerae disappear and Titanium's pokeball appear in its place. With a smile he took the device and clipped it into his strap, turned on his heel and headed for the exit.

Despite her weight, Miltank was still able to move freely enough to dodge some of Larvitar's attacks. Her bulk was handy in this case, as it had helped to soften some of the blows that landed-- save for the ones that hit her in the jaw. That'd hurt anyone.
Miltank's dodging wasn't all in vain, however. Whitney told me to wait, she thought. So, if she doesn't want me attacking right away, then that means I'll need to--
"Okay-- now, Miltank! Larvitar's got an opening! Brick Break!" Whitney cried, watching her Pokemon's right hoof glow, before it was brought down to slam into Larvitar. Turning her head and not seeing the outcome, she had to save her other Pokemon now. If it wasn't raining, Castform wouldbe a Normal-type and wouldn't receive damage from Night Shade. She was prepared to issue a command, but realized it was too late to try to have her Pokemon protect itself. Since Castform wasn't the one receiving the bulk of the attacks during the battle, it still had energy left in it to fight. But, how could it fight if it was all wrapped up like that? And to make matters worse, Castform was nothing more than a puppet being controlled by the silk strings that Ariados was controlling. It couldn't fight, unless...
Unless it could get free.
The weather was against her, but Whitney needed to try. "Castform! Loose a Flamethrower on all of the restraints holding you in place! Burn your way out and incinerate that bug!"
Not wasting a moment of time, Castform breathed in deeply, shaking its head quickly left and right, sending terrible flames searing across the webbed, silken strings that Ariados was holding onto, the flames heading directly for the puppetmaster herself at no less than a breakneck speed.

"Ariados disconnect, fan the flames with Fury Swipes now!"
Ariados immediately severed her connection with Castform as she bit through webbing, using her front legs to viscously cut the air in front of her. The flames rained down everywhere, but she managed to quell the flames coming down on her to mere embers that could be blown away with a feeble breath. Had it not been for the rain weakening the fire power and helping turn down the flames, Ariados might have been toast. Literally. Crenu turned his attention back towards Larvitar, who was still thrashing about. Though he attacked hard, Thrash was a desperation move that he he may have pulled out a little too early. Taking a full powered Brick Break for the second time this match was tough for Crenu to watch, and even tougher for Larvitar to endure. Being knocked back several feet, Larvitar struggled, more like squirmed on the ground as he tried to get up. Be it a miracle, be it sheer determination, Larvitar staggered to his feet, but dropped down to one knee, holding himself up with one arm and looking on at Miltank. He had been knocked back to his sences, and was a bit dazed from his frenzied state. Shaking his head, he tried to get a grasp back on reality.
Not good, another Brick Break... hell, another anything like that and he's done for. I've got to take that Miltank out with the next hit, but I've got to make sure it'll be a good hit. "Larvitar, Screech now!"
Larvitar continued to hold himself up on one knee and one hand, gathering up the energy he could to his throat. He opened his mouth and let out an earsplitting screech that even shoot around some loose pebbles on the ground as it traveled. This was it, crunch time and it all depended on a screaming rock that could barley stand, and a spider that was to busy defending herself from a weatherman to do any attacks. Great stuff.

Once more Mike was outside the Rustboro Pokemon Center, only this time he had no pressing matters to attend to. Not yet. Opening his badge holder, he took note at his eight wins, six Hoenn Badges and two Kanto ones. "Hm..." The boy thought to himself. Did he really need another badge today? Gym battles were some of his favorite experiences as a trainer, and the feeling of besting the best was worth all the training and time spent. Nah, not today. "Kasiya can get a head start." He snapped the box shut.
Withdrawing his PokeNav and switching to the phone mode, Mike scrolled down the list of names until one caught him attention. "Kilik." The boy read, moving his head from side to side. "Hell, why not. He probably needs the training anyway!"
Mike pressed the green send button, and held it to his ear as the sound of ringing came from the other side.

Upon entering the cave, Kilik felt a chill run down his spine. It's not because the cave was dimly lit, but it was somewhat cold. He felt around the walls and noticed a ladder headed down. "Well, if it's the only way to go..." he whispered, climbing down the ladder and jumping to the stone floor below after a few moments.
Upon impact with the ground, his PokeNav began to ring in his pocket. This sudden vibration, along with impact, caused him to fall over. "Gah!" he whipped out the device and stood up slowly, brushing himself off. "Mike?" he blinked at the name. "Why do I even get service in this place?" flipping open the machine, he cleared his throat. "AHHHEMMMM! This is Kilik speaking."

The force of the noise coming from the other side caused Mike to pull the ear piece away. That had to have been the most over the top clearing of the throat he'd ever heard. "Hey man!" He practically shouted back into the phone. "I'm bored, wanna hang out?" Mike's foot began to tap on its own, a clear sign of his impatience.
To amuse himself as he waited for a response, the boy took up kicking an oddly shaped rock back and forth.

"Agh!" Whitney exclaimed, covering her ears, watching her Pokemon do the same. Why in the hell isn't Attract working?! the Leader thought to herself in a frenzy. She waited for the screech to end --and for her ability to hear clearly to return-- before beginning to issue another command. "All right, Miltank!" she hollered (unintentionally louder than she had anticipated), "There's no way that I'm going to let you faint again-- we've grown stronger since our battle with Kilik such a long time ago! Milk Drink, now! Castform, blast your opponents with a Powder Snow attack!"
It really was an interesting procedure that Miltank had when she used Milk Drink. Seeming to manipulate her own body, she was able to conjure up a quantity of the beverage --whole, of course-- into tiny particles that surrounded her body. Those particles were absorbed into the cow's body in a fashion similar to the way that an Alakazam would use Recover, for instance. And that was exactly what Miltank was doing now to keep herself conscious.
Castform knew that it was his job to keep the opponents occupied in critical times such as this, and blasting them both with Powder Snow was just one diversion he could create. Flying around the arena, he was able to crystallize some of the falling rain into ice, before gathering it up into a solid mass in front of him. After inhaling and swallowing the ice mass, his body was able to break down and process the ice into a widespread attack that he was able to use. Opening his mouth, Castform unleashed a fury of the frozen rain upon both of his opponents.

"Oh no you don't!" Here's hoping that Screech did it's job... "Let's go! All or nothing attack! Larvitar Sand Storm! Ariados, Fury Swipes! Forget the snow, this'll end it for one of us! Final attack, Fury Storm!"
Larvitar conjured up all the power he had left in his body, creating one final funnel of sand. Against everything, the falling rain and the freezing snow, Larvitar literally fought the elements to make his attack felt by all. At the same time, also ignoring the blistering cold that fell upon her, ariados jumped in front of Larvitar and jumped off of his solid stone body. she jumped directly into the funnel which, unlike the last time, did not head upwards. Instead the spiraling vortex of sand was more direct and condensed, heading directly for Miltank and only Miltank. Ariados went into a spin in the same direction as the Sand Storm and as she neared Miltank began to swipe her front hooked legs furiously with no holding back. Larvitar on the other hand had taken to much damage as it was and it was all he could do to create the final Sand Storm. Once the combined attack was complete, Larvitar hit the ground, unable to go on. It all rode on this last attack, Ariados was the only one left now.

What does he want me to do about it? he thought, walking through the cave at a pretty quick pace. "Well, sure. I'm in the middle of Mount Moon right now, though. I could meet you in Pewter City?" He coughed, hoping over a small ledge. A trainer motioned for him to come over. Shaking his head and refusing, Kilik kept on going. "How's that sound?"
