I had an awesome day today, as far as school goes. First I went to my Women, Crime, and Deviance class. Our task for the day was to come up with possible essay questions (and our answers to them) for our test on Thursday. The fun part was that the questions on the actual test were chosen from our suggestions, and those people whose questions she chose didn't have to take the test. So she reads off the 8 questions she's choosing, and says that's it. I wrote down all the questions so all I had to do was answer them at home with my notes to prepare for the test. Then... Wait... I'm adding one more. And she totally picked mine, because of my awesome answer (which she had to read for the class sweatdrop ). No test for me! *does dance*
After criminology I went to African American Theatre to do my presentation on the play Dutchman. I was sooooo nervous, but I actually did really good. The performance part was a scene in which I played the seductive (yet racist/murderous) Lula and I had to get all close to my partner (the young Clay Williams... who Lula later murders), put my hand on his thigh, and ask him Am I exciting you now?. sweatdrop Glad that's done with!
Now time to finish my paper on the play to email before midnight! whee

tahariel congrats on the lack of testing!! it's so cool that she picked your question...what was the question/answer, by the by? I almost posted the question but I thought "nah, no one cares," hehe. The question went something like "What is the problem with using the word "forcible" when legally defining rape?" This is in regards to using the term "forcible rape" for such things as counting the number of rapes in crime statistics. The problem with this is that it perpetuates the stereotype that all rapes require physical force. This leaves out rapes that are committed with the use of some other type of coersion. For example, when a husband rapes a wife she may comply out of fear of losing her husband and/or his financial resources, or when a teacher rapes a student it may be with the threat of a failing grade. Another problem with the term "forcible rape" is that it perpetuates the stereotype of stranger rape. Most rapes are committed by persons known to the victim, and often by the use of coersion rather than physical force. tahariel also, good luck with the acting thing. i never had the balls so really try it. i'm sure you did a wonderfull job 3nodding As for acting, I don't have the balls either. It was just a one time performance as part of a project for the class (which I'm taking as my art credit and my cross-cultural credit for gen ed). I'm far too shy to go into acting.

JoVo That is a really good answer. They did well to select you. Thanks! I don't actually think it's fair that I got out of the test (or anyone else)... but why would I complain?? I would've gotten an A anyway, so I suppose it doesn't matter much.
