Just as Urza was about to turn and leave the small bird tweeted a bit. Causing both of the adults to stop their noise and return to the nest. Urza looked up as the bird seemed to flap goodbye to her. Urza smiled, she knew it was silly, but it almost felt like that little bird was thanking her, and telling its parents what a fine job she had done.  Miyako Chōzō T╔═.5.══════╗ TAHp: 44/55 TACp: 42/60 TIMHp: 60/60 Dodge Bonus: 9 T╚══════.♥.═╝She continued freshening herself up on puppetry inside the book. It all made so much sense to her, except the little bit about the advanced techniques, but perhaps after learning the basic jutsu, the rest would fall into place. The next section spoke about the different parts to a basic puppet such as, the limbs, the body, the head, etc. Though nothing mentioned about flying puppets.
She couldn't wait to test her theory and hopefully prove it right. It would be worth a try, and if it worked, she would be near invincible. Nothing would be able to hit her! She kept reading up more on the technique and puppets in general. With each page she read it became more and more exciting. She couldn't wait to actually make her very own puppet.
The next page gave a brief image of how the strings are created from your fingers and attach to certain points of an object or a puppet. With the image she at least had a viewpoint of what it should look like or work. She wondered if she would be able to do it when the time came, but she had a good idea how it worked and she thought she'd be able to. She was an expert in chakra after all.
She continued studying things about puppetry in her small book. She was getting close to the end and she knew that the next step would be to actually try it. It actually made her quite nervous. Ugh... I think I'm going to be sick... She was beginning to feel a little nauseous and it took all her thought power to keep herself from throwing up right there.
She kept reading further into the book to keep her mind occupied on something other than the upcoming test. If she couldn't get this down, then she couldn't be a puppeteer, and her dreams would go right out the window. No I can't think that way. You've been studying for this point for a few years already! You'll pass this. It'll be a breeze! She had to wipe the sweat off her forehead that was beginning to form on her brow.

It wasn't much different than a normal puppet with strings. You would move your fingers to move the puppet in the way you wanted it to move. There was no set way to use the technique since there were so many different types and each finger movement would be different.
Her mind was swimming with information and she needed to rest her eyes. She thought that with all the reading she was doing, her eyes would fall right out of their sockets. She rubbed her eyes, getting them moist and moving to keep herself awake. If I knew it would take this much reading just to ue this, I would have started a while ago.

She began rubbing it, but whatever it was wouldn't remove itself. She kept rubbing and her eye began watering. She grabbed her top eyelid and pulled it over her bottom eyelid, which instantly made her eyes water to flush out whatever foreign object. It seemed to do its job since she couldn't feel it anymore.

Her eyes were still watery so it looked like a bunch of ink blots all over the page. She couldn't read a single thing. Well, what the hell? I thought I got rid of it... She wiped at her eyes and oon they became clear enough to read the page.

The information seemed to flood into her and her brain was absorbing it like a sponge. Now that she had a good idea how the technique worked, she would have to try it...  Miyako Chōzō T╔═.5.══════╗ TAHp: 44/55 TACp: 31/60 TIMHp: 60/60 Dodge Bonus: 9 T╚══════.♥.═╝Miyako knew it was time and so decided to try it out on the dummies. They were the closest things to puppets beside people and she thought it would be different for people, so she just kept with the dummies for now. She placed her hand on the dummy and let her chakra string out from her fingers. She pulled her hand away and she could see the strings.
Her eyes went wide as she watched them disappear. With more practice she would be able to keep them longer. She placed her hand on the dummy and repeated the process. She had the same result as she pulled her hand away. There were only a few strings, but she didn't care. Now she knew she was meant to use puppets. The pit in her stomach slowly went away, being filled with excitement.
She decided to try and do it without touching the dummy. She concentrated on extending her chakra out like a string, however nothing happened. Hmm... looks as if I need some more practice with this... She would need to wait until she got the hang of making the string before she would move on to long distance attachment. At least she was moving forward in the right direction.
She placed her hand on the dummy and removed it, slowly feeding more chakra into it as she backed up. The strings became longer and son she was standing a good four feet behind the dummy, her strings still attached. This is totally awesome! She about jumped up and down with excitement, barely able to keep herself contained.
She released the technique and walked back to the dummy, placing her hand on it and repeated the process. She made it about another foot or two further before the strings evaporated. She gave a content smile. Wait till Urza sees what I can do, but not till after I learn to make the puppet. I'll definitely surprise her then!

Urza looked off into the distance as her thoughts went back to home. Back to the life she once lived at The Chantry. In her home land there were several type of fighting styles, each as different from each other as they could get. Upon receiving the blessing of light a child would be put under supervision of the eldest and most skilled of their branch of choice. Urza had always pictured herself at the age of fifteen, bright eyed and bushy tailed. She would look upon the dragoon instructor and take hold of a lance and shield... But now.
Urza closed her eyes taking a deep breath. She was merely ten, and her path had changed. She was no longer just a sheep among the flock. She was to be a ninja of Otogakure. She was stronger now than she had ever dreamed possible. It was time to accelerate her life a few steps. She would become a Dragoon of her own accord and make a name for herself with her own skill.
Urza went to the dojo attempting to locate a lance. Urza looked through the weapon pile seeing sword after sword, and even a few weapons even Urza was unfamiliar with. However; she failed to find a lance. Scratching her head she decided a spear would do just fine. It wasn't as heavy, but Urza had now doubt about her strength, and knew that when push came to shove she would be able to wield a lance as if it were just as light. Urza took a walk outside finding the tree she had padded earlier. Urza wasted no time, and struck the mat a couple times, getting a feel for what a one handed spear felt like.
Urza easily made the first jab as she twirled the spear around in her hand to get a new grip on the shaft to be able to make consecutive strikes. It was a bit more difficult that Urza had though it would be at first, because without her other arm it felt a bit weird to be waiving such a large weapon around. She would have to fine tune her attacks and movements to maximize her effectiveness with the weapon. She also had to keep in mind that while spears, halberds, and lances were in the same family, they would all grip differently.
As Urza went to strike again the spear went flying out of her hands. She had though she had a good grip on it but it seems that the extended length made it a bit more precarious than Urza had thought it would be. It was going to take a bit of time to master, but Urza was sure of herself. She would conquer this technique faster than any dragoon before her had. She would become the most skilled lacer in all the world, and tales of her exploit would bring glory.  Miyako Chōzō T╔═.5.══════╗ TAHp: 44/55 TACp: 26/60 TIMHp: 60/60 Dodge Bonus: 9 T╚══════.♥.═╝Miyako walked up to it and placed her hand on the dummies back. While slowly backing up she released her chakra to elongate the strings. She was now standing a good six feet behind the dummy and holding the strings in place. I wonder what's the farthest you can go... She would have to find another puppeteer and ask. She wondered if there were others nearby...
Probably not... if there was I would for sure hear about it. She shrugged her shoulders and decided to try it without touching it again. She held her hands out and forced her chakra out of her fingers. She threads of chakra shot out at the dummy and attached themselves to the joints of it. She wiggled her fingers and the dummy shook, but that was it, since there were no real joints of them.
She gave a smirk and tried it again. the strings shout out but died about halfway there. Hm, I wonder what that was about... She guessed that she may not have been feeding enough chakra into the strings to feed it correctly at the speed they were going. It seemed like a logical explanation and so she went with it.
She tried again, being sure to put in enough chakra. When the strings shot out, they almost immediately burst and that was the end of it. Yup, now I put in too much chakra and that's what happens. It has to be just enough chakra... kind of like a spool of thread. Yeah! Let's try it again! Now that she had a good idea in her head, she could tell the rest would be easy.
Miyako took a few steps back and thrusted her open hands forward. Chakra strings shot out and attached themselves to the dummy. She moved different fingers to play out what each finger moved, just to get an idea of what a puppet would feel like. She was growing impatient and couldn't wait to make one.

She focused on her chakra and shot out the strings at the dummy. The strings attached and she moved her fingers to see that they were placed correctly. Satisfied with the result she took a few more steps back. She looked at the dummy and she guessed it was twelve feet away?
Close enough. She held out her hands and shot the strings, but they went in every direction. Hm, I guess I also need to focus on where the strings go. That way I can avoid someone figuring out my pattern and then I could switch it up and they would have to start all over. It was practically ingenious. She was almost done and only needed one more successful attachment.

She needed to be able to attach to puppets at a fair distance if she wanted to remain hidden and let the puppets do all the work. She held out her hands and let the strings fly, but not without watching them and focusing on where she wanted each to strike. When they were planted where she wanted them she wiggled her fingers and watched the dummy shake. Done...

Urza picked up her spear and went back to work on her weapons training. She had to nail working with just one hand if she was ever to succeed as a Dragoon. Urza attacked the mat again, but as she hit it multiple times and with great force she hardly even noticed her off hand slip its way on to the hilt. Urza nearly kicked herself for cheating in such a manner. Urza placed her hand behind her back and held on to her belt with her off hand.
Urza went to strike the mat again but it lacked the power she had with two hands. The piercing motion was good, but when it came to a slashing motion it was just to slow. And when she did manage to hit the pad with enough force it knocked it out of her hand and she had to scramble to recollect herself. Urza knew it was going to be tough, but she didn't quite expect this.
Urza picked up the dropped spear and took her place, a fire burning inside of her. She was better than this. She was Urza Melinora, Knight of The Chantry. Shield of her people. Soon to be master Dragoon. She had no time for silly games. Urza gripped her spear tighly in her hand and made quick slashing and stabbing motions, her arm looking like nothing more than a blur. Urza did not lack the strength to master this technique, that was for sure.
Urza took a moment to catch her breath as she looked at the pad. Stuffing was falling out and the pad was looking to be a bit limp. Urza had sure done a good number on it, though she still felt like she was too weak. Urzas breath was heavy and her off hand had at some point fallen to her side. She was still not ready to move on to the next step of training. Urza still had much to much to learn before she was there.
Urza gripped the spear tighter and made wide aring slashed. The ropes that held the pad to the tree were severed and the pad fell, exposing the tree underneath. Urza didn't have time for being kind to nature. She needed something more resistant to accept her attacks and show her true measure of strength. Urza took a few quick slashes across the tree, and instantly the bark was peeled away as if it had been cut by an axe. Urza's strength had grown tremendously since her last visit to The Chantry. She wondered what the look on the Sisters and Brothers faces would be if they could see her now. Small little Urza hacking up a tree with a spear... In one hand. For such a skill to be developed in a Knight at such a young age? Urza was surely a prodigy.
Urza was once more tired from flailing around the long spear once more though. Even with her strength of a giant, her stamina lack something to be desired. Though to be fair she had just gotten into a death match with a rock and narrowly walked away. So to bu up and swinging around a spear in such a short matter of time? Well Urza couldn't complain about her progress to much now could she?
Urza smiled stabbing at the tree a few times. Each hit sent an echo across the nearby landscape, as if she were slashing it down. The speed at which Urza moved the spear in her attacks was so fast that it sent whistles blowing through the air before the chopping sound of the pit making contact with the tree, tearing apart the bark and nipping at the flesh of the tree. Urza was getting much better at the one handed attack.
Urza decided to get a bit flashy and spun the spear quickly stopping it just before she gave it a horizontal swing across the tree. With a whistle and a flash of light Urza felt the spear rip through the tree leaving a considerable sized gash in the trunk. Urza was amazed that not even day before she had been having troubles smashing through the tree with her fists, and now here she was slashing it apart like it was butter.
Urza was getting over confident, and with a strong lunge stabbed at the tree feeling the spear get stuck in the wood. With a bit of a laugh Urza counted it as a success... Until she attempted to pull it out. Urza seemed to have lodged it so far into the trunk that now the barbed points that made that weapon able to slash were working against her, and she was unable to retrieve her weapon.
