Well fine then.

Nitro is obviously short for Nitrogen, one of the elements. They have a table. It's periodic.
Portabello is a type of mushroom, which makes sense for a Breloom.
Titanium, pretty self explanatory.
Proton, a positively charged particle
Napalm, also pretty self explanatory.
Vesivius, named after the volcano that whooped Pompeii's a**.
Xanthos is where things get a bit crazy. Xantho is a specific genus of crabs in the family Xanthidae. I know Crawduant are supposed to be lobsters, but whatevs. All sea spiders look alike.
Felsic is a type of acidic rock that is found near volcanoes.
Powalski is named after my favorite Star Fox character: Leon Powalski.
Ice types are cold, so I named my Shellder Shiver. DEAL WITH IT.
Camerae is a plural term for the spaces or chambers enclosed between two adjacent septa in the phragmocone of a nautiloid or ammonoid cephalopod. AKA, the spaces between the shell that helped control buoyancy.
Beacon is kind of a play on Ampharos' tails being used as lighthouses, so says their Pokedex entries. Also because he is the INTELLECTUAL CENTER OF MIKE'S TEAM YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Kilik only has one nicknamed Pokemon, and that's Cable. It doesn't come from the superhero. It really doesn't come from anything, besides the fact that electricity runs through cables.

But it's a SWEET NAME.

Also, I can't wait for the upcoming weeks of combined inactivity followed by an absolute detonation of posting when everyone is on the height of their Pokemon after beating the games.

I just have to ask, because I have such trouble with it sometimes, how do you guys come up with your nicknames? A lot of them are really cool and I'm really jealous.

Well there is a criteria for Robin's pokemon, if you haven't guessed the dumbest character in TTR likes comics/anime/the vidya. Even if I like certain pokemon and would love it on Robin's team if it does not have a counterpart in any of those topics it will not be joining her team, this goes the other way around to, even if I don't like a pokemon if it fits those criteria it is on the list of potential joins. Dante on the other hand has his pokemon named after gods and such. Personally I am jealous of all the names you guys come up with. Mine are so boring compared to yours. I wish I could be half as creative.

Here is the list of where each of Robin's characters come from.
Robin- Robin herself is actually named after Robin from One Piece, though they act totally different on so many levels its kinda a joke now to me.
Luffy- Once again One Piece, can you tell I like that show?
Razputin- Psychonauts, play this game I swear you will not regret it at all. Here is to hoping we will eventually get Psychonauts 2
Brook- One Piece yet again! The afro skeleton always makes me laugh, except that time he made me cry.
Black*Star- Soul Eater. It is hard to come up with a pokemon that fits him more.
Ace- Oh did you guess One Piece? Because you would be right! This one actually fits really well to. Luffy's big brother is forever stuck on Robin's team.
Apollo- God of Light and Sun
Kenny- I had a theory about pokemon being dead people a long time ago when I first started playing. Then I thought it was funny that Kenny on South Park always died and hence I started naming some of my ghosts Kenny.
Turn A- I like pissing off/torturing/making Dante miserable. He did not name the Porygon and he has no idea where the name came from and he can't change it. For those of you who don't know Turn A is a Gundam series that holds the most badass Gundam ever.
Xannon- Umm... I found it on baby names.com... I forgot what it means lol!
Hera- One of my favorite goddesses. She took her wrath out on the woman Zues slept with.

I am probably really late on posting this and you guys probably knew all of them.

Uh. Well. Like 90% of Kasi's Pokemon names were thought up on the spot but they usually tie into one of the aspects of the Pokemon, be it species, type or personality.

Ariel/Vaporeon - I remember the oldskool Pokedex entry for Vaporeon saying its tail was often mistaken for a mermaid's. And Disney's The Little Mermaid was one of my favourite movies when I was little so I named Kasi's first Pokemon after the singing, redheaded girl with a fishtail. Obviously you can see the physical resemblance, right? =D

Shocker/Raichu - really nothing special about Shocker's name. It's what I always used to name my Pikachu in the good old days of Red and Blue and Yellow, and every current Pokemon game I have going has at least one Pikachu/Raichu named Shocker.

Hiro/Arcanine - Funny story, Hiro's name was initially Growly. But it didn't suit him after he evolved from a cute little Growlithe into a bite-your-face-off Arcanine. Kasi called him 'Hiro' because he always takes god care of her and she regards him as a 'hero'. hurr hurr.

Fang/Bitey - another funny story, Fang's name initially was Bitey, but I changed it on a whim one day to Fang. Nothing special about it. I <3 my loopy green Crobat.

Seto/Persian - Another whimsical name. I also might have been watching Yu-Gi-Oh at the time. Hey don't judge me, I calculate your EXP. mad

Flash/Jolteon - Jolteon. They're fast. They're really ******** fast. Like the Flash. Figure that one out. I dare you.

Adamantine/Pupitar - Since Ada was one of those Pokemon that I wasn't aiming to get myself, I had no idea what to name her. Being a big D&D geek at the time and liking to look stuff up on the intranets, and yeah. I named the future big-green-stompy-rock-dinosaur-thing-of-destruction after a mineral. Woo!

Rosemary/Meganium - the dex says they smells nice. I likes the way rosemary smells. So I named Kasi's only grass-type after a sweet-smelling spice. =D

Digger/Sandslash - Sandslash is a ground type and they like to dig. Coincidence? I think not.

Casimir/Absol - name means warrior or prideful warrior or something like that. Found it on one of those baby name sites and thought it suited a Pokemon that has an insatiable lust for battle.

Leviathan/Swampert - Melph named Levi, because Levi was originally Dante's Pokemon. Regardless, I like the name and it suits her!

Nova/Charmeleon - Nova means new, obviously. Haha. Also is a star that is very bright and releases a huge burst of energy. I thought it suited Nitro's itty bitty baby sister.

Twilight/Umbreon - sweat pea tea gave him his name, but obviously it makes a ton of sense, and of course I love it. ^^

Alphonse/Piplup - Once he's all grown up, Alphonse will gain a nice large suit of armor. I think it suits him, as he's named after Alphonse Elric from FMA, whose soul is anchored to a huge suit of armor.

Yeah looking at that now, most of my names aren't that creative. I've never thought I was very good at naming Pokemon, but I like them and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Mwahahaha.

The Pokemon Black and White mall tour was pretty awesome, we had a lot of driving but the Mall of America was a nice place to visit. I got some cool stuff including an Oshawott patch. Got to see the Zoroark movie on a big screen as well.

So far Black and White seem pretty good. I forgot how unbearably slow Pokemon grow without a Lucky Egg. I'm only at the second gym though. What are you guys thinking about it so far?

As for my Pokemon nicknames, Mag's are all random based on the elemental types of his Pokemon. Tsunami for Vaporeon, Sunfire for Flareon, etc. All of Claire's Pokemon are given names based on Japanese words. Kokoro, her Quiliava is the "heart" of her team, Yokai the Gastly is a "demon", and so forth for her future captures. Her other Pokemon will describe various aspects of her personality and or the Pokemon's personality. In the real game I tend to anagram the names of the Pokemon. So my Oshawott was named Wattosho.

Thank you all so much for sharing your nickname secrets with me! It's definitely helped.
I'm personally loving Black & White, though I do find myself moving at a slow pace because yeah, the Pokemon take a bit to grow. I'm currently training for the fourth gym leader.
But what I'm most looking forward to is integrating Unova into TTR! blaugh

I'm really loving black and white, the fact that I'm not running into geodude around every corner is simply fantastic. The world as a whole is gorgeous, the out of battle models for the people, while as repetitive as ever, are much more well defined and things just look good. Still not a big fan of the english names but that's just cause I'm use to the japanese ones I guess. Over all I'd say it has rekindled a boyish joy in me that I haven't felt since Ruby and Sapphire.

hey hey I'm alive! blaugh

All Ryka's nicknames are purple flowers! /lame
But they correspond to the Pokemon as well. For example, Gloom is clingy like a baby, and thistles are spiky and stick to stuff. Pikachu likes to fight, and his (soon to be) nickname is Gladiolus, which itself derives from "sword".

Blythe's (also soon to be lolol) are all sweets haha. Macaroon and Pancake and things like that, but still having something to do with the Pokemon. (sweets *A*)
I really like niciknames and i'm indecisive okay?!

and OMG BLACK AND WHITE heart heart heart

expect a post soon dododo~

I don't think I'll do anything else for weeks. Seriously. I could literally stare at Ferroseed's battle animation for hours. I love this game more than I love most people. >_>

I wish they had put a little more effort into the sprites. Having the main pokemon's sprite pixelated because they resized it to have it seem closer seems like they were just lazy. But I do enjoy the animations, they even close their eyes when they get put to sleep.

Also, what's up with poison? They totally took the bite out of it.

Whirlipede is great.

I'd rather have the pixelation then having sprites suddenly shift resolution because of the distance in the camera. What they have right now is kind of the only way they can do it.

I'm going to take a short week off from writing about Laichi and Distance. I want to go beyond what I'm doing. in other words I want to also type fanfics for starwars... but it's a pain in the butt finding a good place to do so. Gah!
