Oh, Min! I hope she's ok!!!!
And guys... if you love me... you'll go vote in the FanFic contest... not necessarily for mine, but for any of them!!!! Preferably a Gryff because we are losing the House Cup!!! And I would enter the banner contest, but the only artsy computer program I have is Paint so I'm a no-go.... I tried but it looked like crap...
I have 0% votes in the contest... I can understand why thnough... compared to the other fics mine is so short... and... I dunno... not as good (obviously)... I liked it at first but then I went and read it after I posted it and I read the others and I'm like... Ick! I could have done so much better!It sucks because romance is my thing! It's all I write! And I can't even do that anymore, appearently.... 3nodding crying gonk

Thanks for your support with my best mate, everyone. She cries sometimes, but she's a strong person and I know she'll be okay. Her birthday is in a month and when I asked her what she wanted she told me not to get her anything because I gave her a place to sleep.
Obviously, I'm still getting her something. I mean, her 18th birthday should be special, and any good person would open their home to a friend in need, so that shouldn't count as a gift.
Yes, listen to Mia: Vote in the May Fan Fic contest! exclaim And, well, *coughs* you can vote for mine...But as long as a Gryff wins I'll be happy because we need the points!

I would like to announce that our very own Scotties MiaKitty (formerly Aeariel) has just made it pass her 600th post and is now, officially, a Seventh Year Gryffindor.
*insert applause here*
Also, I have gotten some comments on the opening post for the Gryffindor Common Room and it has been taken down, as it is, for lack of a better term, just plain mean, and I will formulate a better, correct one. Any suggestions on one, will be more than welcome, and can be sent to me by PM.

Minerva, I totally agree with you. A place to stay is definitely not a present for a birthday. If you would like, I could help you figure out something to get her, if you don't already know that is. Oh and I have already voted for you Fan Fic. It is wonderful!! I love it!

Thanks, Hermione, but she's been my closest friend for a few years, and I'm sure I'll think of a good gift. Acually, she told me that she always likes my presents best. biggrin

Thank you everyone lol...
I'm the only person who's fanfic didn't get any votes... That's kinda depressing... You guys have no idea how long I've been writing and editing and scrapping that story.... *sigh* Oh, well. Guess that just means it still needs work...
And I actually find it incredibly hard to shop for my best friend. I can't ever find something that I think is the perfect gift... now there's one more occasion for me to buy her gifts because she had her baby in march...

Sorry you didn't get any votes, Mia. sad It's probably because you used an Original Character. They're not too popular with most fan fic readers.
I know the contest specifies that the stories can't be too long, but I personally find it impossible to like an OC in a shorter fan fic because we don't have enough to get to know him/her. We have the entire HP series to learn the personalities of the canon characters, hence shorter works about them aren't difficult to get into.
You're writing an entry for the June contest, right? My advice is to keep OC's out this time.
Does anyone know who won the May Contest? Obviously, it wasn't me (last time I checked the poll I was tied for 2cd place) but I'd still like to know if one of my Housemates won. smile
