"Excuse me sir, you'll have to recall your Pokemon." An elderly gentleman stood at the door, wearing a rather nice suit. He held his hand up, a spotless white glove standing between Mike, Nitro, and the door. "The flaming tail and all. Nothing personal I hope you understand."

"Oh, certainly." Mike replied, waving off the old man and recalling Nitro into his ball. "I just get so used to him around I forget he isn't the most...travel friendly Pokemon ya know?" He laughed nervously, the bellboy's lack of response causing a rather awkward social environment. "Okay, well...I'm just gonna go...inside. Bye." Hurrying inside, the young boy wiped some non-existent sweat from his brow, glad to be away from that odd old man. Well, odd to his standards.

"Welcome to Devon Corp young sir." A rather lovely receptionist said from behind a desk. "How may we help you?"

"Well," Mike started, digging through his bag. "I dug up this fossil in Johto, and I was wond-"

"Third floor." She said, cutting the boy off and pointing to the staircase beside her.

"...ooookay." He sidestepped away from the desk and started up the stairs. "Man, is everyone here so anti-social?" The boy mused, slightly frustrated. He frowned even more so when he realized that the person who was going to be reviving his fossil was probably some eighty year old workaholic who doesn't know the basics of human speech from lack of exposure to real people. "Great." Mike began to stomp up the stairs. He had the amazing ability to shrug off life threatening situations and dangerous missions, but the little things just get to him like Giga Draining a Quagsire.

Whitney grinned. "Oh please," she said, "you act surprised that I'm cute and intelligent. I didn't get this position for nothing, you know." Her grin became more widespread as she saw Miltank's effects manipulating the Larvitar into a temporary state of stasis. It was almost cute to see Larvitar's expression.

The girl recalled the difficulties that she went through to get Miltank's Attract to become perfected. The cow was a bit heavier than average for Pokemon of her species, and generally held herself in a lower regard than Whitney's other Pokemon. The Gym Leader helped bolster the Pokemon's confidence, however, by telling the Pokemon that it was alright if you were bigger than other Pokemon. The bigger you are, she had said, the more of you there is for others to love. Whitney knew that line was extremely cliché, but it helped to get Miltank to feeling better about herself. After some lessons from the Gym Leader, Miltank learned how to pose and carry herself to appear to be more appealing-- appealing enough to have a love-at-first-sight effect on others.

"Okay Miltank! Now that we've incapacitated Larvitar, it's time to really bring it! Brick Break attack!" She pointed at the cow's admirer,
and Miltank pulled her right arm back, her hoof blowing briefly, before swinging it forward.

Whitney turned her head towards Castform, not seeing what the outcome had been of Miltank's attack. "Castform, you did a great job on your last attack! But, it looks like his Ariados is a stubborn one. Let's see what a Weather Ball attack will do to it!"

With a quick nod, the weather Pokemon gazed up to the ceiling, to the cloud from whence the rain was coming. He seemed to be gathering particles of the raindrops as they fell, eventually amassing an impressive ball of water. Looking quickly to Ariados, Castform used whatever force he was using to hold the ball of water in the air, and directed the ball to be shot downward towards his opponent.

Once again, Lairon dashed forward. A deep growl emitted from its throat as it came closer to the Tauros that was charging towards him. Once again, their skulls connected. Being covered in a metal plate, Lairon was perfectly fine. That was more than could be said for Tauros. Tauros was frozen in his position. He didn't budge. It was as if the entire world had stopped. The bull let out an excruciating cry the next moment, falling to the ground as its skull had been fractured. The bull flailed on its side in agonizing pain, all three of its tails whipping about wildly. With a very audible gasp, Trois recalled his fallen bull, then glanced over to his battle partner.

Scizor growled as well, a claw colliding with Lickitung's chest. She swung around, a wing glowing brightly and connected with the side of Lickitung's head. With a wonderful display of acrobatics, the insect jumped over and nosedived into Lickitung once more, both wings crashing violently at the Pokemon's temples. Lickitung froze. Not once was it allowed to even jump into the air to Stomp his foe. The pink blob fell to the ground, unconcious. Uno growled deeply and recalled his Pokemon, glancing over at Trois. "This is...impossible! Beaten by a kid?!"

"You forget who that 'kid' is," Kilik crossed his arms, "Now then. I suggest the two of you get back to the base." Uncrossing his arms, the boy recalled both Scizor and Lairon, clipping their spheres to his belt. Walking passed the two swiftly, Kilik glanced over his shoulder at them, paused in front of the entrance. "That's an order." A smirk played his lips as he disappeared into Mt. Moon.

A sigh escaped the boy as he looked up at the sign that read '3rd Floor - Fossil Regeneration". He took another look at his fossil, spinning it in place and amusing himself with the spiral pattern of the shell. "Now, what to name you." He thought to himself, remembering some of his old books that talked about prehistoric Pokemon and the like. "How about...Camerae?" He said to the fossil, holding it out in front of him.

"Why yes Mike, that is a great name." spoke the 'fossil' in a high pitched squeaky voice. "You are an artistic genius, and handsome too."

The boy gave an overly dramatized eye roll followed by a 'modest' grin. "Oh, you are too kind Camerae, I just do what I can." The trainer amusingly lowered his gaze to the door, which was closed just a moment ago, but now showcased a rather stern looking man in a white lab coat. He was staring at the peculiar boy, who quickly lowered the fossil and cleared his throat. "Nice to meet you sir, I heard you were the um...person behind the fossil thing here?"

Now who was creating the awkward social environment?

The two stood in silence for a moment, Mike avoiding eye contact with the statuesque scientist. "So...um...here, can you please revive this Helix fossil for me so I may have an Omanyte?" Holding the large chunk of rock outward, the white coated man accepted it, his face unchanging. Another long moment of silence birthed and even more awkward ambiance.

"I will take good care of Camerae." The tall stern man finally spoke, his voice was low and monotone. "Come back with a free spot, it'll be done by then."

"Yes sir!" Mike smiled, whipping around and quickly darting down the stairs.

"Electabuzz, this is it! Rolling Kick! Do it now!" Surge bellowed, stomping his heavy, steel-toed boot on the gym's floor. Electabuzz shook his head vigorously, and opened his eyes, suddenly remembering what he was supposed to be doing. He frowned; growling deeply as he dashed towards Shocker, ready to attack her with a rather fast-moving kick.

It was over then. Shocker had no way of dodging, and she could only close her eyes as the attack came, and she couldn't even find enough freedom of movement to put her vocal cords to use. Electabuzz's foot careened into her chest, sending her skidding back more than a dozen feet, and she lay in a little heap at Kasiya's feet. Kasiya said nothing, just looked at the floor near where her fallen partner lay. She sniffled a bit, and then held up the Raichu's Pokeball, recalling her with a flash of red. She looked around for a bit, almost as if she were lost before she picked up her backpack and slung it over her shoulder before dashing out of the gym, her pace increasing as the solid doors slammed shut behind her.

Nearly blinded by tears, she made her way to the Pokemon Center, mostly because she knew the way almost by heart, and she continued to be silent even as she handed Shocker's Pokeball to the nurse.

Knowing that both of her wounded Pokemon were in good hands, Kasiya let out a sigh and trudged over to one of the couches, and tossed her backpack into an empty seat. She then sat down next to her belongings, trying to figure out what had gone wrong during the battle as she pulled her knees to her chest, hugging them as she rested her head on her arm. More tears threatened to fall, but she did nothing to stop them, only watched the light above the door of the intensive care room in an almost catatonic state.

She hardly noticed when the kind nurse came over to her, and rested a hand on her shoulder. "Your Raichu is fine," she told Kasiya. "She's all rested up and ready to go. Your Arcanine will be fine as well, he just needs a good long rest and then he'll be good as new."

"His leg?" Kasiya asked fearfully. "How is it?"

"It's fractured, which is lucky for him. Since Pokemon have amazing regenerative abilities, he should be ready to battle again in about a week. A good vacation would do him well, I think."

Kasiya nodded, feeling slightly relieved by the good news. It would mean that Hiro could spend time relaxing and recuperating at Professor Oak's place, and in the meantime, she could have another Pokemon come join her in his place. "Thanks," she said finally, brushing away a tear from her cheek. "Can I see him?"

"Of course, Kasiya," the nurse smiled, bending down to give the girl a hug. "Don't blame yourself for what happened," she went on, standing up and crossing her arms over her chest. "Sometimes serious injuries like this happen during battle, and more often then not, they're not preventable. You should go see him, it'll make him feel better."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 22, 2007 6:41 pm

Once again, Kasiya picked up her heavy backpack, and carried it with her as Nurse Joy lead her to the back room, where Hiro greeted them with a loud bark, his big, bushy tail wagging like that of a puppy's. He was in good spirits, even though his leg was bandaged, and seeing Kasiya only made his mood improve even more. Kasiya smiled at him, dropping her things and running over to the large table he rested on (it was barely big enough to fit him) and hugged him, burying her face in his warm, shaggy mane. "I'm glad you're okay," she said, even though her voice was muffled. Hiro whined happily, and nudged her head with his nose, causing her to laugh. "The nurse says you're going to need to take a bit of a rest to let your leg heal, but after that you'll be all better," she explained. The Arcanine nodded, a bit of a faraway look appearing in his eyes. Perhaps he didn't think a nice vacation was such a bad thing?

Very soon after that, Kasiya said goodbye to her friend as she put him into his Pokeball for transfer. She made the obligatory phone call to Professor Oak, and explained the situation to him. The gentle professor nodded, reassuring Kasiya that Hiro would be well taken care of, and that he would update her via PokeNav messages to let her know of his progress. Kasiya then placed the Pokeball into the transferring machine, and after telling Oak which Pokemon to send her in return, the exchange was made, with Hiro's Pokeball vanishing, and another one appearing in its place. Kasiya picked it up, and after adjusting the Pokeballs on her belt, stood up, deciding that after she'd calmed down a bit more, she'd go back and speak to her father.

Not even paying the rude receptionist or the stuffy old bellboy any mind as he raced out of Devon Corp, Mike wore a foot wide smile as he tore off to the Pokemon Center. As he ran through town, he glanced over at the Gym. Images of Shiver utterly dominating Roxanne's Pokemon filled his mind, only adding to his grin. "Yeah, I swamped her." The boy said under his breath as the Pokemon Center came into view. Skidding into the hospital, Mike slowed down after receiving a death glare from Nurse Joy. He approached the PC and entered the all important information, placing Titanium's pokeball in the slot and transferring it to his mother's house back in Lavaridge.

The boy watched the device dissipate, and happily darted out of the Pokemon Center, heading back to the Devon Corporation.

As the boy entered the doors of Devon Co., he felt the welcoming burst of air conditioning hit him like a Surf attack. He took a deep breath through his nose and closed his eyes, ignoring the look of annoyance the receptionist was shooting in his direction. "Nice." He said to himself as he made for the stairs once again. In no time at all Mike was at the 3rd floor, this time actually approaching the door in which the strong-and-silent scientist worked. As he slowly cracked open the door, he poked his head in, looking around the lab. Out of the corner of his ear he heard footsteps. Entering the room, he looked around again for the man or his Pokemon, but found nothing. Confused, Mike turned around for the exit, only to let out a shriek. The scientist was standing in the spot he was just at, holding an Omanyte in his hands.

"Here." The man said simply, as he placed the revived Pokemon in the shaking boy's arms. "Perfect success. Enjoy." With that, he was off, walking back into the depths of his lab.

Mike had no time to ponder the bizarre man's lack of personality before realizing he had an extinct Pokemon in his arms. "Hi there little guy!" He chirped, staring into the Omanyte's adorable eyes. "I'm gonna call you Camerae."

Confused, curious, and a little intimidated, the Rock Pokemon cautiously extended it's tentacles and rubbed Mike's arms and hands, as if to 'taste test' him. Fortunately enough, whatever flavor based exam he was set against, the boy passed, as Camerae fluttered around in his shell and crawled all around his new trainer's body.

Mike giggled, picking up his newest Pokemon and walking outside the lab.

"Let's go Ariados, move it! You too Larvitar, get out of the way now!"

Larvitar was still to infatuated to do much, and though he made a feeble attempt to block he took the full hit of the Brick Break and was smashed into the ground. The force was so incredible that Larvitar bounced back up a few inches and staggered to his feet, panting hard. That Brick Break was serious business, and it was a super effective hit. Airados on the other hand was more successful in dodging the Weather Ball and managed to jump out of the water ball's path landing clear on top of Larvitar who was grinning as he panted. Ariados was bigger than Larvitar of course, so only her top half was really on him but she was on him none the less.

"Perfect. You'll find that I myself am a resourceful man and have taught my pokemon to be the same way. Larvitar, Sand Storm! Blow away those rain clouds now! Larvitar gathered all of his concentration and forgot about Miltank for the time being, though he hadn't gotten over her spell completely. He clenched his fists and closed his eyes, opening them as he shot his hands up into the sky and rose a mighty vortex of sand and rock spiraling upwards. Airados leaped into the air and used the momentum and force of the Sand Storm to rise high into the air with it, nearly flying along inside the attack, taking damage from the rocks and sand as she did so. The Vortex shot into the rain clouds and basically ripped them apart from the inside out before spreading to the rest of the field.

Moving back from the giant dust storm that was brewing on the field, Whitney bit her bottom lip for a split second as her gaze quickly shot over to Castform. Agh, no! she thought, He can't transform with this weather! He couldn't transform with the weather, but Castform changed because of it. He reverted back to his original state; the giant raindrop disappeared from his head and he became a Normal-type again.

Witnessing both of her Pokemon being struck by the storm, Whitney put her hands on her hips. "Well well," she said, "that's cute, Crenu, but I think you'll find that your glory will be short-lived." A grin. "Miltank, crash into them with a Rollout attack! Castform, use a Weather Ball to crush that overgrown spider!"

Miltank let out an affirming moo as a glint appeared in her eye. Curling herself up into a ball and tightening up all of her muscles for a brief second, staying in place as Castform swooped from behind and crashed into her, giving the cow the momentum she needed to get going. Taking a careful aim, she rolled along toward her target like a bowling ball.

Back near Whitney, however, was Castform. Due to the change from rain to a sandstorm, Weather Ball's type would change as well. Squinting and looking to the tip of the vortex of sand, he proceeded to gather up bits and pieces of particles of the sand that were swirling around, creating a Rock-type attack. Looking down toward Ariados, Castform held its ground, not unleashing the attack immediately. Wait, he thought.

Wait...
Wait...
Wait...

...

Now!

The ball rocketed downwards from the ceiling, bound for the spider.

"Glory is for the glory less. I'm just here to win, and my tactics are anything but ephemeral. "Larvitar, stop her in her tracks! Brick Break now! Ariados, send that rock ball right back with Night Shade!"

Larvitar planted his feet into the ground and held tightly as Miltank barreled towards him with what must have been a Roll Out of some kind. She was no longer staring him in the eye, she was just a rolled up ball that he could not feel affection for. He was safe from her spell for the moment, but the real problem would be if she tried to use attract again. His Right hand began to glow as he clenched his fist tightly, every muscle in his arm surging with power as he cocked it back in wait. Waiting for the very last second until Miltank was within striking range, Larvitar shot his fist forward in an uppercut like motion to counter Miltank's rolling motion. Brick Break was a powerful move, but Miltank was also a very powerful pokemon and this was not going to be easy. As Larvitar pushed with his fist he slid back a few inches, digging into the earth deeper with his feet and putting more of his body into the attack. With all his might he pushed initiating a power struggle between him and Miltank.

Meanwhile all this was happening, Ariados was in a battle of her own with Castform. Sailing above with the Sandstorm Ariados stopped ascending and began to drop , stretching out her body to catch the winds and fall slowly. As per request from her trainer, her body became engulfed bu a glowing black mass of energy that slowly collected on the tips of the two legs that grew from the top of her abdomen. As the rock ball that Castform fired with such precision closed in Ariados flipped around in the air and the two antenna shot a wave of the shadowy mass in a straight line. The shade collided with the ball and splattered everywhere as if it were water, but as the ball penetrated the wave the shade closed in around it until it was completely engulfed by the shadow. It was as if the ball had lost all will of it's own and was in control of the shade that covered it, being propelled back towards Castform by the wave that followed behind it.

Train continued on, but she had unclipped Oddish's pokeball and was holding it as she walked. She would let it out soon, to try and become friends with her new pokemon.

Train could see Mt. Moon in the distance, getting closer every few steps she took. It was so huge, just looming over everything that surrounded it, and making it feel like everything else was so much smaller when compared to the vast tunnel.

Cyka stood dead center in the middle of Saffron, well maybe not dead center but he was in his mind. He looked to the north, then to the east. East was Lavender Town, his goal from the get go. But he stood there and contemplated if that was the best course of of action.

Ghost pokemon are cool and all, but they do tend to be somewhat malevolent at times and may try to cause trouble rather than play with me. Shisa only knows a few moves as it is, an none of them are projectiles. I sure don't want to get to close to an angry ghost pokemon

He sighed and headed north instead. He figured that Shisa needed more training first, and Mt. Moon was the perfect place to do it. Besides, he may even run into some rare pokemon.

"Man if I could meet a Clefairy, that would be soooo great! Mt. Moon here I come!"

Cyka looked at Shisa and she at him, nodding in a way that said "If you really want to, let's do it." The two sprinted off towards Cerulean as fast as they could towards a new adventure.
