I still say use the toothbrush&toothpaste, it's how I clean all my mouthpieces, lukewarm water seems to work the best to not effect cork too much, still try not to get the cork soaked, it'll swell and maybe warp.

I've played the clarinet for 3 1/2 years. I also am teaching myself to play piano! Oh yeah, my clarinet's name is Earl and I even have a fake mustache for him to wear. Also, what are some ways to convince your band director you need a bass clarinet. It can't be that hard since it the same fingerings and staff...and my friend in 6th grade switched from trombone to it.

Landruce I still say use the toothbrush&toothpaste, it's how I clean all my mouthpieces, lukewarm water seems to work the best to not effect cork too much, still try not to get the cork soaked, it'll swell and maybe warp. What I do to keep the cork from swelling up and not fitting anymore, I put plastic over the bottom, like a plastic bag, that should work.

a little bit ago, my mouthpeice for my clarinet broke [Le Gasp!! gonk ]
anyways, I have another one now which is only a plastic one, but has been working pretty decently for me as a replacement.
I have problems though...First off, my mouthpeice got thrown away on me and I have no clue what type it was, and second off..I need a new one!!
Any suggestions on really good mouthpeices that sound good on a wooden Bb clarinet?

I wouldn't buy one though.. they're kind of cheap :S Go for a wooden one for a nice sound, or a good brand label.

I know. I already have my wonderful clarinet. I've had it since 6th grade.....but it still works great.... oh if you look on the back of the upper joint thingy....well when you put it together the number above the thumb rest is the serial number. If you google it you can find out how old your clarinet is..... we were doing it to the school's clarinets and found one from the 30s.....
