*face palm* ... What the ******** is with Kiri's Sannin? Were they picked out of a day care center??? We have two 12-year-old Sannin... Can I even begin to say how messed up that was? Cannon didn't even earn the title until they were mid-20s/early-30s....
Depends on how skilled you are and literacy.
Plus, this isn't supposed to be LIKE the anime.
I am not doubting your literacy at all. I simply beleive the mental and phsyical maturation process cannot be completed by 12 and a Sannin is a potential sucessor to the Kage should it be mentally and emotionally mature... and while I don't doubt you can play a character would would b a great Sannin... there is only so much that can be learned or expierenced in 12 years...
If you read my profile, it says that N.T is just as smart as the grown up Shikimaru. So he's got the mental capacity of a grown man. He's also been recommended as a tactitian.
I am just used to having children slow their training in the martial arts when they get to the high ranks because they don't have the emotional maturity to know some of the more deadly techniques. So having someone so young be so advanced strikes me as not only odd but... wrong in a way. Like their teaching was either shoddy and they advanced too quickly, or they are terribly bright but they still should not know how to be lethal with the emotional level of their age. Even a very mature child is still a child.
Hold on, I have to argue against this. At the age of 12 I was already a 2nd degree black belt in Karate and I had just started judo. Yes I knew the techniques that could kill at that time. Yes I had the mental capacity and the common sense not to use them unless I need to really protect myself. How that all came about was when I was 8. I got jumped on the way to school and almost got killed. I spent one week in the hospital and I went in, in serve condition. Emotional capacity is about how you grow up and what you experience. In fact anyone who practices martial arts, at any age above 8, could kill someone about the same size as them, if not smaller. A child is still a child but it's about how they grow up and who teaches them.
By the way just in case you were wondering about my credentials. I started at the age of 6. I got my 1st degree at 9 and it was a three year span to get the 2nd. I am a 5 time NFK national champion in sparring in my age group and a 3 time kata/kobudo champion. I got my 3rd degree black belt last year when I was 17. So if you add that up my Martial arts age is 12, and that's pretty old compared to some people.
