The deep chord voice of a male broke the natural pattern of the forest life as yet another Ria High Student took to venturing into the acient forest.
"This forest has way too many branches!"
Even before the complaint to the terrian was finished, sounds of branches being broken non-too-gently filled the air. Moments later, a tall figure clad in ebon emerged from the dense of the trees and into the tiny bit of spaciousness that existed between the ivy wall and the undergrowth. With his back faced towards Oni, the newcomer wrestled with one of the thin lower branches, too absorbed in his 'heroic' battle to realise he was making a fool of himself in the presence of another. One of his jet black wings ensnared by the tree, it was easy to see why he had declared the branches of the forest his enemy.

Kaori glared at Sora, still growling and eyes still glowing. But it was taking all she had to not let any tears out, or to keep the shakiness from her voice. "Then get the hell out of it!" she screamed, pointing the huge sword at Sora angrily. Inside, her mind was still whirling. B-but Meghan! she cried mentally. Do... do you think there's a way to get you back, even if Sora dies? And will she truely die if she's struck down now?
Her hold tightened around the sword, tail thrashing harshly around behind her as she continued glaring at Sora. Kaori was prepared to fight, crouched yet again, feet spread slightly apart, but she was extremely reluctant. She needed to know what would happen to Meghan if Sora was killed. Until then, she was too afraid to attack for real.

Sora laughed at Kaori, the rain harshly pelting down on everything. "What fun would it be if I didn't watch you suffer?" she asked simply, as though it was obvious. For a second, she looked back towards the way they'd both come. "Kaori-chan, I always thought you'd be more worried of your brother than his girlfriend," she smirked before turning her gaze, her head slowly following.
The girl hesitated, looking at the small liquified mirror in front of her. She was in a daze, her eyes glazed over, staring non-blinkinly into the scenes before her. "I... Yes, Kaoir-chan, I'm sure there is a way for me to come back," she said softly, still staring straight ahead. I really don't know what'd happen... wheter I'd get back or not, she thought, the sound echoing endlessly around her.

Kaori's hand tightened around the sword even further, her knuckles turning white. "Shut up," she hissed. "Kai can take care of himself." But in the back of her mind, she was recalling the last time Kai had faced Mergex and how she'd had to butt in to help him. Damn it, she growled to herself, then heard Meghan's voice coming through. Kaori's tail wrapped around her waist as she listened, hearing the softness of her tone. It wasn't at all convincing.
She grit her teeth, inwardly arguing with herself. She wanted so badly to help Meghan, but Sora had just reminded her that Kai was fighting Mergex now, someone who was a much bigger threat than Sora. Plus, Kai was fighting injured! Kaori bowed her head slightly. I... I'm sorry Meghan. I swear, we'll find a way to get you out even without Sora. Then will another loud growl, Kaori sprang forward, sword out and swinging towards Sora's left side. Her own left hand was still encased with fire, which she prepared to use as soon as Sora reacted to the blade coming at her.
[Oh man, I've never really done fight scenes before. You can probably tell. ><;;]

[[eh, neither do I. Yeah, I was wondering if you knew about that xD I guess not. ANYWAYYY HERE COMES THE FUN PART! yesh, i decided what I was going to do about this twisted although it's slightly complicated]]
The girl bit her lip. She laughed softly, the volume growing with each moment she started coming closer to Sora. "Worry about one thing at a time, Kaori-chan," she said happily before closing her eyes, her body starting to glow.
Sora smirked as she saw Kaori starting towards her. "You think you can win, poppet?" she screamed, her eyes looking mad, as though they belonged to a person looking for the seven sins. Her smirk suddenly dropped as her sword started glowing a faint pink, the blade disappearing completely within a minute. She was shocked; what the hell had just happened. She looked up, realizing something; her weapon had now disappeared and Kaori was coming at her full blast. Not only that, she seemed to move slightly over so that had she come in contact with the blade, it'd pierce right through her.

Kaori didn't stop her swing until it was too late. Her sword plunged right into Sora's stomach and emerged again from her back. Kaori's eyes widened, the red glow subsiding until back to normal, pupil and whites in view once more. She blinked rapidly, staring as her mouth slightly fell open. What happened to her weapon?! she thought in shock. It was almost overwhelming, seeing Meghan's body skwered by her blade.
Then she snapped back to reality, jerking her sword sharply back out again and holding it in a two handed grasp, the fire surrounding her right hand licking around the blade eagerly. She couldn't bring herself to gloat, and wasn't even sure if she had won. It all happened so fast. Just... just what had happened?
Her eyes widened as she took a small step back, sword pointed threateningly at Sora's chest in case she tried anything, or wasn't actually defeated. She never knew for sure, and since Sora was in league with Mergex, maybe she could heal as well? Kaori quickly began crying out to Meghan in her mind. Meghan? Are you alright? Can you here me?! she thought urgently.

Sora's eyes widened as the blade pierced her. As Kaori pulled out the blade, she made a small noise, feeling it's pain even more, the heat searing through her body. She feel to the floor, her right hand clutching what part of the wound she could. She store up at Kaori in disbalief. "H-how... did you... ?" she started, eyes looking around frantically. There was, she knew, no way for her to heal herself without either fainting, losing control of the body, or sacrificing something. She closed her eyes, shutting them tight, knowing that she had been, at that moment, defeated; although she didn't know how.
The girl now lay on the floor, her body shivering from the sudden cold. A small pool of blood had started to form around her, as she looked up, onto the scenes. Some of her hair fell into her face, pale and slightly flustered, as her eyes looked lifeless. She had indeed heard Kaori, but didn't answer back as she smiled, laughing softly once again.

[I know! I caught the glow and it made me really nervous. xP]
Kaori gazed at Sora in shock again, hearing the noise as she jerked the blade back. Her eyes were still very wide and she began shaking slightly, yet refused to drop the sword she clutched. Her knuckles were white from her grasp. She honestly had mostly used her sword for her own protection before, only killing if there was no other way out of it. She supposed this was one of those situations but...
Kaori bit her lip suddenly and hard, staring at Sora as the girl spoke. But she didn't reply, not trusting her voice to work. It was Meghan's body there before her, one of the only friends she'd ever had. She truely hadn't made up her mind to actually try killing Sora yet, but the girl's weapon had disappeared and Kaori couldn't stop herself in time. She dropped to her knees, sword sinking point down into the muddy ground beside her.
The rain still poured around them and Kaori suddenly realized there were tears streaming down her face. "M-Meghan?" she whimpered, inching towards the body very slowly, but soon after pausing a couple feet away. Her eyes were still wide. The fire was still around her left hand, one small part of her mind even now warning her to stay on guard.
Kei was sitting in a nearby tree, having sensed the danger and escaped Kaori's pocket to wait until he was needed. The rain was bothering him as well and he tried ducking under the leaves. He blinked in surprise as Kaori struck down the girl which to him appeared to be Meghan. His yellow eyes narrowed slightly and he growled, swooping down to Kaori's shoulder. But he seemed to sense her dispair and his anger disappeared as he instead nuzzled her cheek. Then he quickly made his way towards the lake, following Kai's scent to guide him. The male probably needed more help than Kaori right now.

Sora quickly looked up, seeing her starting slowly towards her. "Stay back!" she barked, her eyes enraged, almost like fire. Within that instant of her command, she'd reached into a pouch and pulled out a dagger, the flat side of the blade facing the two girls. She still clutched the whole that had gone through her stomach as her eyes glared warningly up at Kaori.
The girl looked up, hearing Kaori's whimper. She was reminded in that small moment she had forgotten, that she now lay there, on the border to death. "K-Kaori-chan," she whispered, tears falling down her face, "p-please, just... finish her." Although she was badly wounded, she sounded as though she was just so happy she was speachless.

[Oh man, now I'm really nervous! xD;; But I hope you don't mind I editted Kei into my post. xP]
Kaori froze suddenly as Sora snapped at her, clenching her hands in the mud as she stared at her. Even still, her eyes were wide, seeming as if they were stuck like that now. Her gaze followed as Sora drew out the dagger, and she suddenly gritted her teeth, remembering Kai's injury. Her eyes traveled slowly to the wound in the girl's stomach and then back up to her face again. Then they slowly narrowed, a look of deep sadness in them.
The expression didn't change as she heard Meghan's voice again. She bowed her head for a moment, the thought horrifying her. Meghan was stammering... did that mean she had been injured as well? But at the same time, she sounded so happy... Kaori bit her lip, then glanced back up at Sora once more. A faint smile spread across her face, tears still running down and mixing with the rain. Al-alright, she thought very quietly, and then raised her hand towards Sora. Her right hand quickly darted out, claws aiming to slice Sora's throat quickly and painlessly.

Sora saw her lunging at her and quickly dove down backwards; a quick reaction. Within seconds, Kaori had pierced her once again, slamming into her ribcage; if that hadn't been there, she'd be probably dead. As she soared backwards, blood spirted from her mouth as it leeked from the wouds, sliding slowly down her sides mixed with water. She shut her eyes in pain, dirt smuging all over her, as she groaned softly, more blood seeping from her mouth. "Y-you'll pay, I hope you know that," she said softly before she jerked suddenly, remaining motionless on the ground. Her heart slowly started to beat slower, the blood continuing to flow; whether she would come back, ever, wasn't left in hers, or the gods' hands anymore.
The girl suddenly cringed as another part of her was pierced. She clutched at the spot tears flowing down her eyes. As she stopped floating, the mirror did as well. It shattered instantly into millions of snowdrop petals, the darkness around her suddenly bursting into a blinding light, thousands of voices, pictures, and aparitions appearing before her. "Kaori-chan!" she called out suddenly, laughing, "Thank you!!" I finally get my memory back, she thought, smiling at everythign around her before they all came zooming into her, swollowing her up before everything was gone.

[Aw... I hate being patient. xP]
Kaori winced as she missed her intended target and pierced Sora's chest instead. She bit her lip anxiously as she watched the girl retreating backwards, blood flowing from her wounds and even her lips now. Kaori simply stared at her, unsure of what to do. Should she follow? Finish things off? But she saw Sora fall still on the ground, and listened intently. After a moment she caught the very faint sound of her slowing heart.
Kaori's hands clenched again, one covered in blood and the other in fire, both in mud. She didn't repsond at Sora's last threat, instead just remained staring almost lifelessly, or blankly. She blinked suddenly as she heard Meghan's voice again. Ah! I-I'm so happy you're still ok! she cried suddenly, hearing the thanks Meghan gave. She listened intently for more, but none came. She bit her lip again, bowing her head. M-Meghan...? Her hands clenched once more.
But then she shook her head quickly, and looked back up. She leapt to her feet, mud covering her knees and legs, blood still running slowly down from the single wound on her cheek. Her eyes narrowed again in determination as she thought back to Kai. He's the one who needs help right now... she told herself, as her hand found it's way into her pocket. She blinked as she pulled out the stone, then hugged it to her chest. And Sai... But I have no idea what to do. She gritted her teeth in irritation and then snatched her sword from the ground, slipping the purple crystal back into her pocket. "Don't worry Sai, I'll make him tell me how to free you."
She glanced back at Meghan's still body once more, unware that there were still tears rushing down her cheeks, spilling from her eyes. "I'm sorry..." Then she turned and quickly started back to the lake.

Oni heard the sound of struggling behind her. She turned her attention away from the natural wall and searched for the source of the noise. She didn't have far to go before finding someone who needed help.
"That.... doesn't look too comfortable. Try to hold still..." Oni went to inspect the branch that had caught onto the stranger's wing. Seeing that it was a simple matter, she turned to her little companion.
"Tetsuo, you see that branch there? I'll need you to untangle it." she said, pointing to the tree. "Okay. Just give me a boost up." Oni picked him up and set him on the branch closest to her reach. From there he climbed over to the limb that was causing the stranger trouble. With a few seconds of rearranging, the stranger's wing was free.

Finally a week had passed since Angellea entered Ria High. There was a slight sense of relief in her as she finally was able to find free time to get away from the school campus. She walked into the forest, breathing in the fresh air. Smiling up at the trees, she remembered a time when she was young when she climbed her first tree. Heights scared her, but sitting in the tree for some reason had made her feel more secure. She wondered if she could still do that now. Reaching up and slowly lifting her self up a step, she began to climb the tree slowly, so as not to fall. She reached the widest and most sturdy looking branch and sat down. Time became nothing as she sat in the tree and admired her surroundings, but this became a problem when nightfall came and she realized, she could not see to get herself down. "Help?" she gulped out into the darkness.
