Because you said they can only exist one at a time, and when the rat's power goes, Sakura's power goes. So... dead Enfer is dead.

That aside, I wish you had explained it more, it doesn't even talk about the rat changing into Sakura and pulling Roi into a shadow.

I'm so confused. Any time I've seen a power switcher switch up abilities, the power that's put away is completely gone and the new one is apparent. Common sense tells me that once the rat is no longer Sakura or is gone, it can no longer pull Roi through the shadow, so it would trap him inside forever.

The way both Sakura and Senna's shadow hopping works is they can only extend the ability to someone else with physical contact. Actually, I can only speak for Senna, not Sakura because I don't know if Flecky had that in mind.

Soleil has to be put away before Enfer could come out, right? Okay, that's settled. So, if Roi was inside Enfer's mouth and Enfer came out in the shadows so he could get in the beast's mouth, then that means the switch between the two familiars was made inside the shadow. That means Soleil was gone while they were still inside. Thus, there's no exit point for the two, because Soleil is no longer there to guide them out.

Therefore and in conclusion, they lost the shadow-hopping ability while they were inside the shadows, so Roi is stuck inside the shadow realm and forever lost like Dolor.

I'm not a nerd for nothing! It's a shame Genji's not at that level yet, or I would be tempted to try it out.

It does seem like you guys are arguing two different points.

Dante's timeline:
Enter shadow -> Exit and say "Boo" -> Summon Enfer

Taigaa's timeline:
Enter shadow -> summon Enfer -> Exit and say "Boo"

Which, I can see how that would cause a problem because if Roi doesn't have inherent shadow powers, without the other summon to guide him out, he and Enfer would become trapped in the shadow plane as Taigaa said. Upon reading the post, imo, the timeline flows like this:

Virgil's timeline:
Enter shadow -> Exit and say "Boo" -> Enfer exits shadow

So Roi comes out (though I think you should more clearly state that he came out first Dante if only for clarity's sake 3nodding ) then Enfer erupted from it howling and I'm guessing picking Roi up in his mouth in the process? The problem is, like Taigaa said, that Enfer can't come out from the shadow because he doesn't have the ability to. I suggest rewriting the part where Enfer appears from the shadow and instead stay, for instance, he appears full breach from nothing behind Roi howling and all with his open mouth aimed directly at Sakura. Like move where he speaks to just after he appears then say something like: The word kinda had barely passed Roi's lips when reality itself began to ripple in a large radius like waves on the ocean as Enfer burst forth through the space time fabric, as a whale would burst forth from the water as it breached the surface, mouth agape and watering with anxiety at the thought devouring of the meal presented before it.

Then he could continue on with the taunts as Enfer flew at Sakura leaving her even less time to dodge than how it's currently written and minimizing her time to plan a counter since she'll mostly be flowing on reflex. This also takes care of the questions of whether or not it would actually fit through the shadow. Though that's just a suggestion. I also apologize if I'm being insulting. It is by no means intentional I assure you.
