Hearing Seraphim's comment, Daegonna turned to him, smiling a bit ruefully.
"It's been a rather long day I'm afraid." She said. "But what's a girl to do?" Her eyes roved over him, her temper having done away with any thoughts of shyness.
Already she heard Q'uarlynd muttering in the back of her head.
She watched him as he circled around to the other side of the bar, her eyes lingering on his amazing butt. The leather pants were quite the compliment to his delightful shape, she decided.
Realizing she was staring, Daegonna glanced up at the bottles he was examining as he looked for something specific. As he poured the glass, she held out the letter to one side. Purple flames blossomed from her palm, blooming into a large fireball. The letter was engulfed in flames, and soon burned away completely. The violet fire vanished as quickly as it had come, and Daegonna brushed the little remaining soot from her hands, before turning her attention back to the lovely and terrifying creature offering her wine.
She took the offered glass, and took a tentative sip. It was actually quite good, better than the cheap wine she'd been drinking before he arrived. She smiled, and took another sip, savouring the flavour.
"It's very good." She said, smiling up at him.
Cautious as ever, she didn't quite meet his gorgeous gaze, though she came close. Daegonna had a sudden urge to reach out and brush his purple hair out of his face, tuck it tenderly behind one ear, but she didn't. The realization that she had even thought of such a thing made her wary, and she looked away, a bit too hastily.

*Reaching out to take the glass and fill it properly for her, Seraphim let his gloved fingers brush her own, before dropping his gaze to fill the glass alongside his own, and pass it back*

Long days are always followed by the eternal night though, and the night doesnt age. Drink the wine, I find it always helps. My own day was... tiring.

*He vaulted over the bar, using one hand to lay flat on the bar, the other holding his wine as his legs tucked tight under him, tail flying out behind him for balance as he landed on the other side and smoothly slid onto the seat next to Deagonna, tucking his hair behind his ear, revealing a delicate silver ear cuff in the tip, another skull in the lobe*

That slight contact was enough to send a shiver down Daegonna's spine, and make her heart flutter. When his gaze moved off of her, she quietly released a breath she had not realized she was holding.
Why did he affect her so?
Daegonna had been a source of great desire to men just as suave and as powerful as Seraphim, but the dimension-hopping vampire seemed to have already woven a powerful spell on the girl. She was incredibly drawn to him, curious about him, and nothing anyone had said in warning had swayed the attraction. Q'uarlynd's imperious disapproval had only fueled the fire. Dagoth was, as far as she knew, unaware. Iden's words had carried more than a little bit of warning. In spite of the danger (or maybe because of it) the charming and powerful creature's allure was undimmed.
Daegonna didn't fail to notice the way his muscles rippled under that perfect alabaster skin as he nimbly vaulted over the bar to seat himself beside her. She found her thoughts straying into what most would define as sinful, and blushed.
It was a rare talent, to be able to make Daegonna bashful and hesitant.
She looked away again, and took another sip of the wine. He was right. It helped.
His comment that his own day had been tiring brought a bit of a smirk to her rose-red lips.
She could smell the blood on him, and could guess whose it was.
"The nights never seem to be long enough, anymore." She said after awhile. It was true. The girl felt like she was always running, and wished she could stop and just enjoy the dark pleasures of the night, rather than spend all of her time defending herself against the things that lurked in it.
It suddenly dawned on her that Seraphim might well know how to get to her because he could well have done it before. Her curiosity about herself in his dimension was, again, piqued. Glancing over at him, she opted to see if he would indulge her curiosity.
"Iden said you come from another dimension," she said, "Is it very different from this one?" She had been to a few other dimensions, but always carefully avoided people she knew, or should know, or might know. Unless of course she was killing them.

No. Its exactly the same. The PEOPLE however? People are what make differances.

*Those cool eyes turned slowly, darkly, in her direction. He sippe dthe wine, violet lips turned crimson as he slowly swallowed, then let his tongue dart between his teeth, fangs now, and clean it away*

The dimension I come from has some very differant people in it. Im sure Iden told you some of it last night. He's still mad I can SEE Cerberus in him. And he wont admit what he's turning into. There is no need to beat around the bush with me. Ask me what is really on your mind.

Daegonna smirked a bit, rather relieved by his directness.
"If there's another...well...version of Iden, is there another version of me?" She asked. She was fairly certain there would be, but in her experience, other dimensions often had different timelines, or one single decision was different from her own dimension, and thereby all of history was altered. There was a good chance, by that reasoning, that he had never met her other self, or that she had not survived childhood, or had not even been born.
"And what about Dagoth?" She asked, opting to just spit out all her direct questions at once. She took another sip of her wine, lifting her eyes to him again. The dim lights of the bar glinted off his fangs as his agile tongue darted out to moisten his lips.
Again, Daegonna found herself having to rein in her imagination, and turn her mind away from delightful musings about those fangs.
She ran a delicate hand through her hair and looked away again, combing the corkscrew curls back from her face.
Perhaps I'll be sorry I asked. She realized. Iden's other self was a horrifying sadistic creature that he could well become. Do I really want to know how terribly I could have gone wrong? Or worse, how terribly I might have already gone wrong?
Of course she wanted to know.
Still, she couldn't help but shiver at the thought.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 24, 2008 2:20 pm

I cant tell you that. Yes, I know the other you. She's known as Widow. But I only discuss the nature of MY compatriots with those of YOURS that I wish to annoy the hell out of. Like Iden.

*He grinned, then went back to his wine*

And I wont tell you about Dagoth either. Your smile is too rare tonight to risk driving it away. The night is eternal Daegonna. There will be other times to ask me. Prehaps one day I will tell you. Prehaps I will take you there.

Daegonna pouted a bit when he said he couldn't tell her.
"You can't tell me, or you won't tell me?" She asked, a bit of amusement in her voice. She rather suspected he had only refused so he could keep her curious.
Last I checked, began Q'uarlynd, Curiosity liked killing cats. Daegonna shook her head at Seraphim's grin. He was a puzzle alright.
Some puzzles look better when disassembled.
Q'uarlynd, if you wish me ill, why not take care of it yourself, instead of suggesting what would be suicide? She asked sweetly, only to answer her own question, as if she had only just remembered. Oh, wait, you can't.
Q'uarlynd took the hint, and fell silent.
Seraphim's refusal to tell her about Dagoth didn't come as a surprise, and was somehow less disappointing. When Seraphim casually suggested that he might tell her one day, or even take her there, she looked up at him again, raising her eyebrows.
She wasn't sure what to think of that.
The offhanded offer was simultaneously appealing and appalling.
The girl thought about it for a moment, then smiled again.
"Perhaps." She echoed.

*Inclining his head in agreement, he finished his glass, refille dit, then topped Dae's up as well*

Indeed. So what iritation has you out of sorts this evening, if Im allowed to inquire?

*He sensed her emotions, her heart beat, her hormones. He smiled ot himself, making no move on it, merely taking off his jacket and hanging it on the back of his chair*

Daegonna smiled as he topped off her glass.
"Thank you." She said, lifting it to her lips again. Having emptied an entire bottle of cheap wine on her own before he showed up, she was beginning to feel her inhibitions slip away, so when he asked what was irritating her, she didn't hold back.
"Some pompous nobleman took a shine to me when we met in Paris. He realized I was still alive and kicking a few months ago, and just can't take a ******** hint. He keeps sending roses and trinkets and letters to my club, and when I actually lived in it, my old apartment. I've tried to play nice for the sake of politics, but...He's a persistent ********. It pisses me off, and it absolutely infuriates Dagoth. I've tried several ways to make it clear to him that I'm not interested, but he seems to think he's the sexiest sonuvabitch on the face of this Earth, and a few others..." Daegonna trailed off into silence, upon the realization she was ranting. She sighed, and took out a pack of cigarettes, and tugged one from the box with her teeth. It burst into flames, spent before she had even taken a drag. She sighed, and took a moment to regain her composure before pulling out another cigarette. She didn't try to light it, just yet.
"I'm sorry." She said. Normally, she had slightly better control over herself. "I came by my temper honestly, though."
She glanced up just as he was slipping out of his jacket, showing off his beautiful bare chest. Again, the girl caught herself staring, her cheeks flushing slightly.

It's ok... you can stare.

*He grinned at her, catching her in her interest, but amused.*

Besides... this gentleman who is of difficulty to you is wrong... to have been even in the same circles as you he must be someting... but he isnt the best. He has me ot contend with.

*the mischieveous grin settled easily onto his features, then was obscured again by the glass as he drank, only his eyes visible, as ever, over the rim.*

If you ever become too bored of his amore... let me know. Im sure I coudl find a better use for him for you.

The pink tinge on Daegonna's alabaster cheeks deepened to a nice rosy shade at his comment, but she smiled nonetheless.
"When I said we had met in Paris I hadn't meant for it to sound romantic or anything. We met when I was young. I was about....Twelve? I was a street rat then, making a living reading palms and tarot cards for passerby while my friend picked their pockets." She said "He was one such passerby." She laughed softly, shaking her head at the memories of herself as a grubby little girl, who stole to put bread on the cardboard box she and her friends called a table.
Looking back up to her companion, she took another sip of her wine, her eyes roving over his body again, rather less shyly than before.
"I'll keep your offer in mind." She added, her lips twisting in a smirk.

And yet, look at you now...

*The devious smile became almost coy as Seraphim dropped his head onto one of his hands, turning his head sideways as he smiled up at her. his position turning his muscular body to a perfection, his tail briefly touching hers in passing*

Like I said... if you want the little irelevance removed... Im sure I can find a use for him that does NOT involve fawning over beautiful women he is not worthy of. More wine?

For some reason, his comment made Daegonna laugh softly.
"Yes, I guess I have come a long way since then."
She noticed his smile shift to an almost coy look as he shifted himself, clearly enjoying the responses he was eliciting from the girl.
At his offer, she smiled. She knew she shouldn't have any more wine. She was getting a bit tipsy, and she knew Seraphim knew it too.
I shouldn't. She thought. I really shouldn't.
His tail brushed against hers.
"Sure." She said, allowing him to take her glass. "Thank you."
Oh this is ridiculous You know he's dangerous, and you know he's playing with you!
Come on, Q'uarlynd, you know me better than that. We're not playing yet.
Daegonna felt the old battlemaster's rage building up, and was, for a split second, afraid he might actually be able to throw off her Binding and march her straight home to be locked in her room by Dagoth. Daegonna's spell and willpower were stronger (miraculously) than Q'uarlynd's disapproval and attempted use of force.

A scruffy looking face stuck itself in the door.

Nope. No sign of pissed off elders, ******** up dimension hoppers, or irritating friends and/or relations.

Perfect.

The man (now easily recognized as Iden) slunk into the place, and slid the door shut quietly behind him.

Now, to engage in drinking in quiet peace.

Unfortunately for Iden, a quiet drink and a night alone just weren't in the cards for him.
A violent explosion of purple flames signaled the arrival of Daegonna. She had been careless with her teleportation, and had ended up sitting on the counter, which was slightly singed from her arrival.
Tears streamed down her face, and purple flames danced over her body, licking at her flesh, but not burning it. The illusion on her right arm had been dispelled. The once alabaster flesh was black and leathery, warped into the shape of large scales that formed a natural, living plate-mail over the limb. Throbbing veins stood out sharply. From her right shoulder, three crescent shaped bladelike protrusions of shiny black bone jutted upwards, curving inwards towards her head. Her once delicate fingers had become three hooked, barbed claws. Three long, tiny, wire-like tendrils with barbed tips, much like her tail, writhed and thrashed around her. Her head was held in that massive black three-clawed hand, which looked so odd on her delicate, very feminine body.
