Ky tried really hard to think of a way to get through Union Cave in a way other than touch. He knew that Little Guy, even with his good eyesight, was not a night-time Pokemon, and Sting, even if he could see in the dark, was not able to lead them due to his evolved bindings. "Grr... I can't think of anything..." Ky grumbled.

"We'll worry about it when the time comes. For now, we should just worry about getting to the cave."

Ky nodded and let the problem pass. Crenu and Ky kept walking along Route 31, waiting for Union Cave to appear, all the while bringing up little conversation. Ky felt very comfortable traveling with Crenu; even though he was a pretty serious guy, Ky knew that just meant he was responsible. Ky hoped that Crenu felt the same way.
Ky guessed that Crenu had been traveling alone for quite some time; it was kind of unusual for a trainer to stay in the woods after training, especially when he was so far from home. Of course, this was just a guess. Ky, having enjoyed camping when he was young, would have probably enjoyed doing the same thing had he left alone from Violet City too.
When Violet City came back to mind, he thought of his sister Trea, wondering what it was like when she first started out. Somewhere in Hoenn, she was doing whatever was necessary to start her own gym. He could imagine that she'd battled countless times, all of her Pokemon having grown incredibly strong. "I hope I get a badge from her," Ky mumbled, forgetting he was speaking out loud.

Anna raced as fast as she could, back to Celadon. After a short travel time, she raced around the city frantically, trying to locate the hospital. When she located the correct building, she rushed around the halls, looking for her trainer. Come on, Nina! Where are you?!
Emergency... room. Anna, hurry...
Anna was amazed that Nina was able to telepathically communicate with her, even though she was entirely subconscious. Looking around frantically for an indication of the ER, Anna was able to locate a map on one of the walls. She studied it for a moment, and memorized the part that she needed. Taking off, Anna rushed down the twisting hallways before arriving where she was headed.
"...still can't believe that she isn't related to Sabrina after all," Jane said to Scarlet, as the doctor checked up on their patient. Anna arrived in the ER as Jane finished her sentence, and her eyes grew enormous.
Maorde was watching his Metagross making its trek over to Kilik, and therefore wasn't paying attention to the Scizor that was rushing toward him. He was knocked to the ground, the large bug on top of him. Maorde looked genuinely terrified as Scizor raised her claw, ready to strike. "No! Please!" he said, "You don't want to do this! You aren't an evil individual like I am! You know that you shouldn't be doing this, Scizor!"

Upon hearing Mike's outburst at Portabello, Flannery looked up, the hint of a blush creeping into her cheeks. However, she merely laughed it off, and grinned at the duo before her. "Come on guys, we're making good progress here. At this rate, we'll be done well before noon." She scanned the group before them, a collective murmur of agreement passing among them as they all got back to work. The gym leader's gaze fell upon Mike, and she winked at him again, jumping down from her post and grabbing up a rake in order to help out.

"She certainly likes you, Ryka" Jaeshan chuckled over Torchic's noisy chirping. "But then again, it's hard not to like you." The blush that had been about to surface on his face vanished as a boy walked up to them. "Lost? Where are you trying to go?" he asked, turning to face him. "Perhaps we can help, although I don't know what to do about a broken PokeNav."

The rush of the wind through her hair was exhilarating, to say the least. Mai could barely watch the scenery below her, as it was all a continuous blur. Cities flashed by below them, and in seemingly no time at all, the cityscape of Saffron City lay before them. It was terribly easy to pinpoint the location of the attack, for several helicopters flew around clumsily in the air. "Damn media, has to get their noses into everything," she grumbled as she came upon the aircraft with the news station logo printed on the side of it. She also spied several news vans parked around the area, cameras rolling from practically every side. "Giggles," she said firmly, "give me a demonstration of your power, please." The Aerodactyl slowed in the air, hovering on the spot as the two stared down the news copter. "Hyper Beam." The ancient Pokemon reared back his head, rows of deadly, razor sharp teeth gleaming in the sunlight as a small dot of light began to form in the center of his gaping jaws. It grew and grew, until he thrust his head forward, a golden beam of pure energy streaking out and striking the helicopter for a direct hit. The screams of its pilots and passengers were drowned out as the vehicle exploded in the air, its wreckage spiraling out of the sky and crashing into the side of a nearby skyscraper.
A wicked smile spread across the Rocket's face, the reflection of the flames from the wreckage dancing in her icy blue eyes. "Excellent." The sudden fall of the helicopter would draw away the attention of the other news cameras, leaving a small window of opportunity for Mai to complete her objective. At her direction, the Aerodactyl swooped down from the sky, once again opening its deadly jaws and firing a blast of flames at the Metagross as it dived down. The small amount of damage dolled out at this instance wouldn't matter so much, the point was to distract the Metagross long enough to get closer to the ground. With perfect maneuverability, Giggles swerved sharply to the right, its taloned feet outstretched as they snatched up Kilik's unconscious form, and were once again airborne and speeding up and up, disappearing almost as quickly as they had arrived.

The rag-tag group of manual workers got to work instantly, combining efforts to make the Gym spik and span for the upcoming battles. A few hours into the work, Mike took a short break, sitting down on a newly cleaned bench. His eyes wandered around, key parts of the battle replaying in his mind, Xanthos' failed offensive against Torkoal, Beacon's struggle to overcome the type difference against Camerupt, and Nitro's tattered look in his eyes as he was struck time and time again from Magu's attacks. He wondered how he won that fight, if he did at all. His wandering gaze landed on his new 'girlfriend' if you could call her that. He eyed her figure, her hair. Part of him didn't want to finish his task, as it would mean his departure from Lavaridge.
What if he didn't get to see her for a while? As much as he wished, there was no way Flannery could shirk her duties as Gym Leader any more than she had already.
The boy sighed, pushing his bangs back and continued working.

Scizor's claw was pulled back, ready to slit the throat of the killer. However, she had turned her head in time to see an Aerodactyl flying down then back up into the air in the blink of an eye. Her Master's body was gone. The Pokemon's eyes widened and she looked back at Maorde. You don't know what I am. The Pokemon brought the claw down to the man's throat, inserting his neck into the groove of her weapon. Her face read, quite plainly: Move and I close my pincer around your neck.
Weezing floated up slowly. The Psychic attack had dealt enough damage to make him collapse, but it didn't exactly knock him out. The Pokemon looked around. "Where be Kilik-friend?" he asked nobody. He looked at the Metagross, panicked and spat a Sludge directly into its eyes, blinding it. "And Fire-friend hurt bad!" Weezing hovered over, and with a bit of difficulty, managed to get Flareon onto his head. The Poison-type floated up into the air to protect both himself and Flareon's form.
Kilik's eyes moved open very slowly. Wind was rushing against his face and the feeling of leather was caressing his abdomen. The boy looked over and saw a pair of talons. "Wha..." he blinked, then looked ahead. I'm being carried by an Aerodactyl?! he thought suddenly. He fainted once more.

While Kasiya looked on, awed at her Pokemon's ability to think for themselves, a sense of foreboding seemed to overcome her. Something was wrong - or would go terribly wrong shortly. The feeling sent shivers down her spine, even as she watched Hiro open his mouth and fire a Flamethrower at the Machamp, who was still trying to attack Ariel. With a pained sigh, the four-armed fighter slumped, and a relieved Ariel emerged from behind its still form. Suddenly, her eyes widened, and she let out a cry of warning, but it was too late for the Armaldo had crept up behind Hiro and unleashed a violent Ancientpower attack. With nothing more than a quiet whimper, Hiro collapsed, the super-effective hit more than enough to take him out. A look of anger swept over the normally calm face of the Vaporeon, her eyes narrowed into two slits as she dashed towards the Armaldo, a frosty mist escaping her mouth as the Vaporeon turned a powerful Ice Beam upon the Plate Pokemon. The Armaldo toppled over, its eyes closed in defeat.

"All right, all right!" Maorde said, not moving at all. "You're intelligent, so I'll make a proposition for you. If you let me go, I'll recall my Pokemon and I won't bother you again."
Am I actually attempting to bargain with a Pokemon? he thought to himself.
"What did you just say?!" Anna asked, in a state that was greater than shock, as she entered the room that Scarlet and Jane were in; it was adjacent to the one Nina was being held in. "Holy frigging crap!" Scarlet exclaimed, "That Misdreavus just talked!" Anna's eye twitched a little. "No kidding," she said. "I'm Anna, and I belong to Nina. Now, what was it you two were talking about when I came in here?" "Well, it's best that we start at the beginning," Jane said. "When Nina was admitted here, she needed blood, and a lot of it. Everyone in her direct family has type A blood, so Scarlet here ordered a transfusion of that type of blood. Nina's body rejected the blood and her kidneys started to fail; that's associated with giving a patient the incorrect blood type. Therefore, it was concluded that Nina really isn't the child of Jessica and Michael, nor is she truly Sabrina's sister."
Anna looked as if she was going to faint. "That can't be," she whispered. "It just can't!" "I'm sorry, Anna, but it is. The blood doesn't lie." "But Nina's already been through so much lately! When she finds this out, it's going to devastate her!" "...Finds out what?"
Nina stood in the doorway. It didn't seem difficult for her to stand.

As they traveled and conversed, Crenu thought about the relationship Ky and his family had. The sibling love he shared and the love that his mother gave him. He began to wonder if perhaps things would have been a little different if he had siblings of his own to play with growing up. He wondered why his mother and he were so distant bow, it was almost as if his father was the only thing that kept the two of them from being strangers in the first place. As he walked, he was brought back to reality with Ky's random remark. "Get a badge from who?"

Scizor moved her head slightly. It was the equivilant of raising an eyebrow. However, thoughts were running through her mind a mile a second. No. You nearly killed Master's mate. The grip on his throat became tighter, And Master himself is now gone because of you. I shouldn't let you live...
"Come on, Bug-friend!" Weezing called down, "Cut man's throat and make him sleepy forever!" He spewed many angry smoke clouds into the air.

(( Does Mitsu have Kilik's number? ))
"Nothing Violet," Mitsu said with a smile, "thanks for the invitation too!" She picked up her Pokenav, she had used it quite recently to view the picture Meowth had sent her. A small giggle escapsed her lips as she thought of it. She glanced over a few names making a mental note to send a few of the names a call. She passed over Kasiya, already planning on telling her once they met back up. Nina and Kilik too, although she wasn't too sure if she had his Pokenav number or not. Mag would get a call too. She stopped scrolling once she reached a certain name.
Mike.
The last time she had spoken to him wasn't too friendly. She hit send and hoped that he would pick up. Ring, ring, ring. Ring, ring, ring. Nothing. She sighed before deciding to leave him a message. "Hey Mike. It's Mitsu." Of course it's me, it's my voice. Stupid."Violet invited us to a beach party at Slateport on July first. Hope to see you there." She hit end once she finished leaving him the message. Mitsu placed the Pokenav back making another mental note to call the others later, better yet, she could just send them all a text message.
Ivy walked around as if giving the Swablu a piggy back ride. He used a slightly weaker Sweet Scent sensing the Pokemon enjoyed the floral scent of the half bloomed bud on his back. Sapphire continued to chase Ebony until he seemed to have disappeared into the ground in front of the meditating Karri. Sapphire tried to skid to a stop, but he had been running too fast. Bam. He collided into Karri who awakened from her meditation seeming quite annoyed. "What was that for?!" she asked clearly irked. "It's not my fault. It's that deranged Gengar!" Sapphire retorted. Ebony, who was a few paces away now, next to Ivy laughed though his clenched teeth enjoying the mess he had created.

"To the gym," Rin said, "I thought that's where we were headed." After a moment of thought and idea struck her. "There's trainers there inside, they're pretty tough if you want to test Aska's power." She fingered a Pokeball at her waist mindlessly. The battle with Jon had fired her up and she was ready for another battle. That's odd. I don't recall being to in to battling. Not like Risa.
