[Cory .:. Angel Grove .:. Foot of the Volcano]

The ronin sat beneath a nearby tree, leaning against its trunk as he stared up at the Moon Base. He sighed, having grown extremely bored with his futile attempts to get someone's attention in the base. "Stupid Mooninites... And their stupid... 8-bit guns..." He quickly jumped back to his feet and summoned the Revblade before lobbing the sword upwards at the Moon Base, the weapon spinning like a buzz saw before lodging itself in the walls of the base.

"IS ANYONE GOING TO ANSWER THIS DAMN DOOR?!"

{Kuro Oni : Caribbean Sea : Brig of the Dutchman}

Kuro had kept his eyes focused on the group, that same triumphant smirk on his face as everyone reacted, especially entertained by Noelle's efforts at kicking at the bars of the cell enough to make them rattle. Despite his amusement though, he hadn't let his guard down. His heightened senses allowed him to hear Jacob scraping the grime off of the floor and he both shut his eyes and raised his arm to cover them as the dagger wielder threw it at him. A look of sheer anger was on his face as he flung the grime off of his coat sleeve, his eyes narrowed intently at Jacob as he shouted at him. His claw like fingers clenched into fists as he thought about what to do to the foolish boy. That look was on his face until he felt Ajora's hand on his shoulder, as soon as he felt it his face changed into an amused smirk.

"Hmph... You're right, the fool isn't even worth my time." He replied with a chuckle as he turned and walked toward the stairs that would take them out of the brig.

{{Cue: A Sacrifice}}

As the replicas began to leave, anyone who was focused on James would suddenly see his eyes open. As if he hadn't just endured tremendous pain, he rose to his feet. The strange golden irises looking at the group as he began to walk out of his unlocked cell as if he wasn't hurt at all. The command seal still glowed red above his heart, though it was now hidden by the coat. His strange eyes looked at them all for a moment, his face emotionless as he then turned and walked away, following the replicas without a word as they left the brig.

[Dawn : Caribbean Sea : The Brig of the Dutchman]

Dawn let out a small gasp when she saw James's eyes open up. A smile of relief spread across her face as he started to move. He was awake, that was always a good sign.

"James.. You are awake, I am glad...wai-" Dawn's voice started happy despite the tears that were on her face, he was getting up, and walking out of the opened cell door...

She looked at his face her eyes searching his emotionless expression. Her face soon started to shape into horror as she finally saw his eyes, golden. What happened to him? She had to know.

"NOO!" Dawn yelled out as she started to pull on the cell bars as tears of anger started to wash across her face, "James! Snap out of it please!"

Her eyes, lined with angry tears soon went in the direction of Ajora, who was starting to leave, she couldn't help, but remember he didn't even answer her question before, and she wasn't about to let him leave without giving her an explanation. And her friend, her brother, back. It was her turn to unleash her fury on the replica. Leaning slightly against the bar, brought her foot up, and removed the shoe that was on it.

"Don't ignore me!" she yelled at the replica as she reached her arm out of the bars and threw her shoe at the back of Ajora's head., "What did you do to him!?"

[Carribean Sea ~ Brig of the Dutchman]

Something about what Kyle was saying made Noelle snap out of her mad kicking spree. She stopped and looked at him, unable to shake the anger and fear making her remain tensed. Great help he was being, standing there acting like this were some detached game of chess while their friends were getting hurt. The agromancer wanted to haul off and beat him, or scream at him for being such a . . . she didn't know what. Anything she would have tried to say would have come out as gibberish anyway. She began pacing small lines, arms wrapped around herself, to keep from saying something harsh to someone and, she had to be honest with herself, to keep from crying. Her forhead went down as she tried to hide the tears forming in her eyes. Then she saw James get up and begin following after the Replicas. Noelle stopped pacing and stared, not understanding.

James . . . James, what are you doing . . . turn around. Turn around, James, come back. Come . . . come back, James . . . not you too . . . not you too . . .

Elleon's spear was in her hand before Dawn's shoe could even make it half way. The Replica swiped at the projectile with her weapon, catching the shoe on the end of her spear. She smiled, shifting her weight to one hip as she twirled the shoe around on her spear-tip.

"Cute." Elleon said coyly, taking the shoe and tossing it to the ground. She pursed her lips at Dawn in a kissing face before turning and walking after Ajora. She had business to take care of.

{Kyle : Angel Grove: City Streets}

As the battle ended, Kyle started to regain consciousness. He could hear talking, but he didn't particularly feel like moving and responding, even if he could make out what was being said. There was a bit too much pain in his system to articulate and move correctly. And then a tinge of worry shot through him as he felt himself being picked up and then lowered back to the ground, before feeling that familiar feeling of Alan's Regen spell.

The spell started at his feet and legs, easily the most damaged part of him. He felt that it would be there for a long while and so he started trying to make sense of the world. He didn't really get much time to do so before he felt a very powerful healing spell hit him, sealing all of his wounds at once, basically making Regen pointless. But he still appreciated Alan's concern.

Feeling that he could get up and start moving around, he pushed himself off of the ground and meandered over to the rest of the group, still slightly dazed. "Oh. Cool. We won. Go team." He said absentmindedly as he looked upon the captured trio. He was barely aware of the argument to split up going on, more concerned with just how exhausted he was. He was perfectly healthy, but completely exhausted from the lack of magic.

Still, he had to become a part of the conversation eventually. "So...what's going on...?" He asked, looking around at the rest of the group. Then he saw the new girl. Huh. I should make friends. Friends are good. Yes. Walking over to Bobbie, he held out his hand for a handshake. "Hello. I'm Kyle. Nice to meet you." In his relatively exhausted state, that was the best he could manage.

[ Ajora ; Kyle ; Sora ; Kuja : Caribbean Sea : Brig of the Dutchman ]

Kyle visibly cringed as someone else (Dawn, this time) made a stupid, stupid mistake. Sora, as well, seemed to cringe...

... but the Replica never budged, as if he'd expected the shoe to be intercepted- indeed, James had begun to reach his hand out to catch the shoe, only to stop short as Elleon did so with her spear. Ajora merely stopped walking, slowly craning his neck to look at Dawn, an almost chaotic glint in his eye.

"I. Am. So-ho-ho glad someone had the idiocy to do something else," he spoke, his voice low, taunting, threatening... He chortled under his breath, his sneer wide and, honestly, kind of creepy on a mirror of Kyle's face.

There was a slight blur of motion, and Dawn's left arm was gripped tightly around the wrist before being yanked forward, through the bars and probably far enough to pull her arm out of her socket (though not quite), her palm up. Ajora had grabbed her through the bars, making sure he was just out of reach of anyone else. His eyes, once more, piercing violet- it seemed almost like he seemed to do it out of amusement.

"Thank you for volunteering. I would have simply hated to not give the dramatic reveal!" he exclaimed, the tone in his voice sounding almost... crazed. He lifted his other hand and placed it on the back of her palm (which was underneath the hand, away from people's gaze). He forcefully curled her fingers up into a fist, and enveloped both his hands and her hand in a black aura with crackling crimson sparks.

"You see, dearest imbecile, I corrupted his heart and injected a portion of my own, special brand of Darkness into him," he said, and as he did, she would feel an intense burn on the back of her hand, as if Ajora was placing a fiery iron on her flesh. No matter what she did, he didn't let go- just kept staring into her eyes, as if daring her to look away. "What better way to eliminate opposition than to assimilate it? What better way to cause you pain than to force you to kill your own friends?! It's so perfectly dramatic!"

"Don't you agree? How wonderful a story this makes! Just as Sora had to fell his best friend, so too must you! If you want to save him, you have to crush him!" he said, his grip on her hands becoming so tight that her knuckles were beginning to pop... and maybe more, if he went on, but he didn't. "And if you're not careful, the same will happen to YOU!"

With that, he pushed her hand away and, in the same motion, released a high-powered Banish, hoping to shove her directly back into the wall behind her. Sora, of course, jumped behind her to catch her.

The dark aura around her hand would take a few moments to fade; nobody could see any difference, due to her fingerless gloves, but underneath the glove, a mark could be found burned into her flesh, like a brand made on cattle- the infamous Command Seal of Ultima.

Ajora stepped back a moment, head high in the air (much like a drama queen), and he took a deep breath through his nose, exhaling through his mouth. "Compose yourself. The show goes on."

And without another word, ignoring any other possible reactions, he marched out (dramatically, of course), James following close behind.

"... sorry about that," Kyle muttered, glancing off to the side, his arms crossed and the look on his face mostly unreadable aside from the potential shame. He didn't budge, despite many probably judging him for it- he knew, for certain, that Dawn was in no danger. Ajora, like himself, always chose his words wisely- and he suggested that Dawn would only be next if she wasn't careful.

Besides, even if she was hurt... what could he do?

What could any of them do?

[Dawn : The Caribbean Sea : The Brig of the Dutchman]

Dawn stared up at the replica as he turned back towards her after she had thrown her shoe. She glanced slightly in the direction of Elleon then back at Ajora. She had no time to react before he was on her. She let out a cry of pain as he pulled her to the bars of the cell. She could swear she could feel her shoulder pop. Her fighting instinct kicked in as she struggled to try and free her arm from her arm from his, only managing to hurt her arm more in the process.

She stopped her struggling and looked up into Ajora's eyes. The same eyes, the same face, giving her the same look she had received the previous night. Though it was not the same, it was. A terror, stronger than before spread across her as it did before. A terror that made her stop struggling and stare up into those same eyes. Dawn didn't let any cry of pain as her left hand burned from the darkness. The pain on her hand was nothing like the tearing feeling of her heart as she listened to the words Ajora spoke. The tears on her face was the only sign on her face of the emotions she was feeling.

Dawn fell backwards after Ajora threw her back followed by a dark spell and into Sora. She remained motionless leaning against Sora. Her eyes were freely letting tears fall from her face as she watched James follow after Ajora.

After they were gone she heard his voice again. Dawn's eyes moved to the source, Kyle, with a blank expression. She soon looked away from him, shaking her head as she closed her eyes, trying her best to stop the tears that were falling from her eyes.

[Nick :: Angel Grove :: City Streets]

Nick sighed as he stared at the ground. Seymour had used a Renew spell, and Nick could feel the effects. His health was returning, but he still had zero mana. As Alan and the Maester discussed what they were going to do, Nick couldn't help but sigh. Blah blah blah, Ivan Ooze. Blah blah blah, controlled people.

Jeez, why doesn't Seymour just go appear to Ivan, wave his staff, and nuke the slob? I mean, hell, it's not like we're trying to level up or some crap. And what, do we have to 'earn' our victory over the forces of evil? Totally not worth the trouble. I'd rather just go full power and be on my way. But, I don't want to die yet. I need a better idea.

The obvious answer was simple. Lock up the three on the Red Rose, and somehow drain them of mana so they don't come back to kill us. Nick blinked, realizing he should probably bring that idea up. Simple in theory, but to actually pull it off? Who knows, and who cares. The Lanista just wanted to take a nap after getting triple nuked.

"Hey, here's an idea. How about we take these three back to the ship, lock them up in some room, and make sure they have no mana. Create a rune or spell or something to keep them drained of mana. Oh, and speaking of mana..."

Nick looked around at the group, taking special care to look at Seymour.

"Anyone got an ether?"

[Carribean Sea ~ Brig of the Dutchman]

Noelle's shoulders and heart sank. There was just no end to it. To save James they had to . . . Noelle couldn't even think about it. She couldn't even be angry any more, her fear and sorrow were overriding that emotion with great power. First Rae, now James. As much as the agromancer already knew that the detatched state of game-play was not what they were dealing with-- after day three out of their six days of fun (for her it was more like ten) it was clear the lines were being crossed--it was still hard to cope with, and every new hit was like a wreaking ball. The Replicas were pushing things too far, but to the Replicas themselves it probably wasn't far enough. The Earthlings had little to do to combat the evil they faced. It was only a matter of time before they crumpled under the stress.

The blonde jumped as Dawn was thrown back, moving no more until Ajora turned and left. At first she approached the wind user cautiously, but when she saw her crying she couldn't hold back any more and rushed to hug her. Noelle knew it would probably do little to console Dawn, but she wanted to try. Dawn was closest to James and was getting hit the hardest with what had happened to him.

Elleon didn't stay to watch the rest of the show. When Ajora didn't continue up the stairs, the blonde huffed a sigh and shouldered past him. She was half-way up the stairs when she heard him begin his monologue. Dismissing her spear, she paused and listened for a moment, a scowl on her face. Oh, how Ajora deserved to die. How they all did. Every last despicable one of them. Not waiting for the end, the dark terramancer continued up the stairs to the deck, muttering under her breath. Ignoring the looks of the crew, Elleon stormed to the captain's quarters to wait for Ajora to finish his little tyrade. She sat at the bench before the grimy organ and thumbed a key impatiently. The sooner they got things over with, the sooner she'd be off this awful ship and on her way.

[Alan :: Angel Grove Streets]

Seymour's condescention stung like a whip. The way he had chided Alan for failing to heed his words while not saying where he was wrong was especially irksome. "Well?" he said, still struggling to maintain the same courteous air, "am I wrong? Is there such a thing as a spell that can't be countered? Is there a reason we don't have to worry about them dying if we take out Ivan?" He paused, and looked around a little sheepishly. Suddenly he wished he had never spoken up. "As for Terra . . . " he glanced at Bobbi, "yeah exactly. There's something different about the enchantment Terra's under. She wore a crown, I noticed. . . " What's more interesting, he added to himself, is that the others didn't.

"Like I said, she could be out of control. But splitting up . . . you say we couldn't handle an ambush, but isn't there something to be said for smaller groups? More mobile . . . harder for enemies to detect and easier for them to escape. Well, whatever. I don't pretend to understand millitary tactics. But we really should at least check out the volcano, and I would really like to at least try to defeat the mind control."

After Nick spoke, Alan frowned again and absentmindedly handed the boy one of his two ethers. "Does the ship have facilities for restraining people? I never really got the chance to explore it," he asked nobody in particular.

[[That reminds me: there's been some confusion as to the Slave Crown. It's not exactly a 'crown', but more of a small circlet, as seen here.]]

[ Seymour : Angel Grove : City Streets ]

"I have access to no such draining rune or spell, I'm afraid, so such a tactic would only cause the destruction of the ship," Seymour responded to Nicholas, only to shake his head a moment later at the question of having an ether- Seymour needed no such replenishing liquids. "Your mana should recover as we travel, however, so there's no need to rush. Conserve your ethers for battle."

"As for magic that cannot be countered, I have experienced such a spell- I have one in my own arsenal, though it is meant purely for offensive purposes, and uses a large portion of my mana," he explained, bowing his head slightly as he seemed to ponder the question. "If you still wish to counter this curse, then I bid you my best wishes- I can provide no aid, however, as I have no magic that would be of use to you."

"And even this is, of course, under the assumption we can even keep them contained- even I can only provide so much excess mana before the barrier inevitably falls and they open a corridor of Darkness to escape," he said, now glancing to Kyla (who was still driven with Amy). "What then? Have you any method of preventing such corridors aside from this cocoon? You all have good intentions, but the practicality is... minimal."

Dani stayed still and listened in as a plan started to form in the group. Some wanted to stay and try to figure out a way to help out the 3 canons but most of the group was thinking of going after Ooze. When they started talking about Terra however, it felt like her points that she had said a minute ago were completely ignored. She finally took down her hood and said, “Sheesh guys.. I had just said that a minute ago…”

Sometimes Dani could marvel at how oblivious people are to her at time. It reminded her of home and how she was never really noticed except by a few. Personally, she didn't care about the oncoming battle that was going to happen. She just would just follow what the others would do for the moment.

Dani then noticed that Kyle was awake and was currently walking over the the new girl. Kyle looked a little weak at the moment, but then again, who could blame him. Dani sighed a little bit before walking over to where Kyle was introducing herself to the girl Kyla knew very well. “Hello,” Dani started out standing next to Kyle since he looked fatigued, “I am Dani, how have you met Kyla before?”

[Anthony ~.~ Caribbean Sea ~.~ Brig of the Dutchman]

As he continued to stare at the floor, Anthony felt a sense of relief as he heard footsteps treading in the direction of the exit as the Replicas made their way out of the brig. However, the man turned his head toward James' cell when he heard a delayed set of footsteps and the screeching of rusty hinges. To his surprise, the gunner was conscious and on his feet! Excitement filled the warrior-knight as he pulled himself up onto his feet.

"They must've forgotten to lock the cell door!" Anthony thought. "This is our chance to get out of here!"

But as soon as James walked passed their cell and followed the Replicas, Anthony knew what had happened... He leaned his head forward, lightly tapping his head against the prison bars before resting his head in between them.

"Welp... so much for that. I should've known better. Too obvious of a mistake to have been done on accident."

Anthony shut his eyes about the time Dawn started yelling at Ajora, demanding answers. He figured the Replica would ignore the girl and keep on walking, but the footsteps came to an abrupt stop before Ajora started speaking again. Before Anthony had time to open his eyes to see what had happened, the doppelganger already stood before the cage, Dawn's hand in his grasps. By the time his legs registered to move forward and help pull the girl's arm away from Ajora, the Replica sent her flying to the back of the cage. Fortunately, Sora intervened and caught her before she slammed into the wall.

Anthony turned his attention to Kyle, who apologized on behalf of his Replica. The lengthy youth's earlier comment was rather unsettling, evident by some of the reactions from their companions, though he couldn't blame him... he understood where Kyle was coming from. There really wasn't much they could do to change their situation other than making it worse. Regardless of how Kyle might have come off, given his Replica seems to be leading this whole charade, Anthony believed the spear-wielder to be a great advantage to their team... after all, he and Ajora weren't that different.

[Cory .:. Angel Grove .:. Foot of the Volcano]

"Would ya look at that? I got someone's attention!"
Cory resummoned the Revblade as he watched the numerous black figures fall from the Moonbase. They opened their black feathery wings and soared down at the ronin as he said aloud, "Oh hey, Tengu warriors. This should be fun!"

The rogue hopped over the first incoming Tengu before deftly dodging several more as the zipped past him. The last of the warriors wasn't so lucky as Cory's fist struck it square in the beak. Black feathers exploded everywhere as the Tengu crumpled to the ground, sliding to a stop as the remaining warriors came in for another assault. He couldn't help but smile as he revved the engine on his blade before running to meet the Tengus head on. In a flash of steel and the roar of an engine, the bird warriors already tumbled to a stop on the ground with the ronin standing unharmed.

"Stupid freakin' birds..." Cory dismissed the Revblade and approached a Tengu that seemed to remain conscious, gripping it by the throat and holding him up so that he was eye level with the rogue. "Alright, bird brain, how about you just tell me where all the bad guys are and we skip the whole scene where I brutally destroy you? Because I'm going to find out why it took so long for you guys to answer the door, with or without the near-death experience for you." Cory felt the creature's throat gulp as he mentioned the beating, smiling as he realized the bird was going to tell him without the beating.

Jacob ll Brig ll Flying Dutchman

Jacob looked over to Anthony and saw not necessarily fear in his eye, but puzzlement. At first Jacob thought that he was confused, but he looked out to James's cell then back here. "F--- this. F--- this. F--- boats." He shouted before mouthing, "Do you think our door is unlocked like there?" He nodded his head towards the now empty cell. "Anthony," he mouthed again staring right into the man's eyes. "Think you're strong enough to act as leverage? I think I can lure the dyke and the heartless out of here."
