"And haven has missed you though we are missing a ton of familiar faces but at the very least we still have a few. The new ones might need some a** kickings and need to be yelled at and threatened in order to stay in line but I haven't had too many problems after that." She chuckled, recalling the incident where she'd absolutely flipped s**t on Peter as well as Matt and had just lost it only for Veroen to show up and spare them from her anger. All of them had ended up going out for supper, of all things and all three of her hunters had apparently been starving, James having came along for the meal. They were all a little strange. Peter was definitely the most sensible and responsible out of them and she trusted him the most. Matt was pretty erratic with his temper and tended to lose it pretty easily but was a pretty nice dude. As for James, well, he'd friggin' shot her in the shoulder the first time they'd met but he'd been drunk and hadn't realized who she was so she'd mostly forgiven him on that. He needed to work on his racism problems, though, hating lycans wasn't okay and that wasn't simply because she was a lycan now.

Meredith wasn't sure that she liked hearing that her brother had gone off alone to combat creatures that she had no hope of taking. Everyone knew that when it came down to skill and strength that Sethe could easily take her in a fight because he was more experienced and more honed than she was. Of course, she wasn't just some wimp from some office building hoping to make herself look cool but she just wasn't conditioned to take the likes of Sethe on, not yet anyhow. "Well as much as I hate to know that you did that alone and that you didn't tell me you were leaving, I can't really be mad at you for that. I can only be grateful that you're alive and came back to us. On the flip side of things I also know that I wouldn't have been much help. I still have a lot of kick a** I need to deliver before I'm going to come close to your grade." She smiled, glad to have her brother back and eager to be speaking with him once again. At the very least one of her brothers had been given back to her, unfortunately, Will was still up in the air. She was still amazed she'd exercised the restraint she had when she'd passed by Neko in the park the other day. The very thought of Neko seemed to make her heart darken with sadness and anger.

'To be full out honest with you, I can't tell you a whole hell of a lot. She and I were supposed to get together to have a nice girly talk and me being the leader of this joint now and whatnot hadn't really given me the time to do that. We were actually probably going to get together this evening from the sounds of things. As for how she took your leaving, I wasn't able to talk to her about you. It killed me enough to even think about it but to bring it up to your fiance didn't seem right to me ... I can only assume that she's missed you a lot but I'm kind of thinking she tried to move on just like I did and now that you're back it's probably f--king with her mind quite a bit. She left for a while after you did, too, to Boston so I had virtually myself to keep me company and Lydia here and there.' It was evident she was uncertain of what was really going through Kerrigan's head in regards to Sethe, however, she wasn't too sure that Kerrigan leaving upon recognizing him had been the greatest sign.

"They're a f--king mess. The press caught a leak or something that Mauser gave them and posted all the elders faces up around the city and chaos just broke loose. Hunters are being slaughtered for being mistaken as vampires or lycans, actual vampiric and lycan hunters are being unnecessarily killed, our casualties are probably almost as bad as the other races. It's just an all out open street confrontation, a mess. Greatest enemy? I'd have to say unsubtle actions would be our worst enemy right now. Race-wise, everyone's attempting to keep a low profile though I'm getting a read that some of the vampire elders are a foot as well as there is a strange demon lurking about in the city. I haven't heard much on the lycans." She shrugged, clearly not too sure what to make of everything herself. She'd given the hunters strict orders to go about business as usual though it was advised they not roam by themselves but with someone so that they weren't picked off by erratic humans who shot at everything that came near them that seemed remotely strange even at a glance.

The moment the infirmary doors opened, Eden had cast a glance over Sethe's shoulder to see Veroen, which instantly relieved her though upon further inspection it appeared that something was off. While she didn't have honed capabilities in regards to her mental abilities, she knew Vereon pretty well and she could tell simply from instinct that something seemed off, not to mention the wolf was stirring within her, roused by the potential threat of the powerful beings surrounding it. "No, no. It's fine. Krii and I are just catching up." She walked over to Veroen and prevented him from exiting the infirmary by grabbing his hand and leading him over to Sethe. "Veroen, this is my brother, Sethe. Sethe, this is Veroen, he's my significant other as people seem to enjoy putting it, my boyfriend. Veroen was with the coven up until recently but he's a good guy, I promise. He saved my life to boot." She continued to clasp Veroen's hand, not too keen on allowing him to disappear seeing as he hadn't been back in New York with her all that long since he'd disappeared for months as well.

Tobias felt kind of akward. " I do not mean to inturupt, but I need to talk to the leader as soon as possible.
I must tell her of my situation."

Meredith merely sighed, inhaled very deeply so that her chest puffed up and closed her eyes for a moment, squeezing Veroen's hand tigher before exhaling again and responding as calmly as possible. "I am the leader. I'm Edith Jackson. Yippee. Looks like you dropped by the infirmary at the right time. If this is about the Pope thing, great, I'm informed. You should look into locating a hunter named James for me, that'd be useful. Keep an eye on him."

Sethe frowned when Edith said the name "Mauser," and shook his head in frustration when she continued, telling him that what he remembered of New York before he had to leave, was still haunting his Hunters. Then the vampire from before walked back in, and was apparently injured from something otherworldly. Nothingness has no scent. In fact, stranger still, it diminishes the scents of other things in the rea. It was a strange, disturbing lack of odor, and it was something he'd had to learn in his latest Hunts.

'What is wrong with you?' Sethe said. He stepped forward, getting up in Veroen's face, and started to sniff him. 'You have the lack of smell attributed to fell places.' He looked at Edith, and stepped back, shook his head, and held out his right hand. 'You may call us Krii'Esou. It is the name we have given ourself.'

As Edith spoke to the new Hunter, Sethe turned his head to look at him, and sighed. 'As we recall, Eden, our faction of Hunters has had some issues with the Pope, the Vatican, and his 'orders.' Maybe this man should be more closely observed...' Sethe then turned his attention back to Veroen, whom he was being introduced to. It would seem Eden, for all her growing up, wanted Sethe's approval of her boyfriend. Made sense, he was her older brother. So, he'd at least try, even though he wreaked of the abyss.

" I have a feeling that I dropped in at a bad time, I appolagize. Do you even want to know what happened to me?" he said with a chuckle, slowly standing up.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 10, 2009 4:30 pm

Eden knew that Sethe would not be fond to hear the name Mauser, she wasn't either after knowing the lengths in which Will had gone through to attempt to rid the world of that man. Somehow he had survived though William had returned to them convinced that he had bested Mauser at last and that they could all rest with a little more ease, knowing one bad apple had been composted. Unfortunately it seemed that bad apple had somehow made its way out of the composter perhaps by means of another creature picking it up. Either way this meant they hadn't been ridded of Mauser and while he had been a concern of Eden's, she hadn't really been able to address it directly seeing as though she'd been bombarded with too many other things. Mauser's where abouts were unknown but she was tempted to track him down and force him to convince the public that beings such as herself, Sethe, the elders, did not exist. Hold a hand around his throat while on television while he knew his life was precariously balanced for all to see ... They would see his lies and he would fall, fall harder than any death would ever bring him. If his reputation was shattered then he would have nothing. An uncharacteristic grin appeared on Eden's face, rather wolf-like, even.

'You want that man to suffer. You know I have the power to do that.'

'Strong as you may be I'm not letting you do anything. You had your fun and I kept our deal.'

'You should learn to trust me. I may be an animal but I am of use to you and you know this.'

'I also know that you're capable of f--king things up major time. So as MJ would say, just beat it.'

'The offer will remain despite your defiance. You'll be tempted by it eventually I can assure you. It's only a matter of time ...'

The woman was quick to shake her head and snapped out of what seemed to be a very apparent trance. She reawoke to observe Sethe stepping forward and getting in Veroen's face, something that was, if you knew Sethe, very typical for him. He had no problem sticking his nose about and getting up close and personal and there was certainly reasons why. He didn't take s**t from anyone no matter what their supposed status was, he didn't discriminate. All he needed was a little respect and more likely than not the other was bound to receive it unless they gave him cause for suspicion or were a potential threat. However, when Sethe connected the scent to Veroen being engulfed by the void, Meredith interjected. "He killed a void master a long time ago and inherited the void unintentionally. It's starting to awaken in him so we're going to have to find someone that will be able to help him control it or we're going to have to find a way all on our own."

"The Vatican will certainly not be granted control of haven again, that is for sure. That wound up being a disaster and as much as I respect the Pope I am not so sure that he is up to snuff in the way hunting the super natural works. If you're a spy then you're not going to be too happy of a camper here and would find it in your best interests to go home because you won't find anything here. You can send status reports and give the Pope our regards but beyond that you're not gonna have much to say to the guy."

As for Sethe's approval of Veroen, she had dealt with the fact that he hadn't approved of Tokeru and nor had Kerrigan so she would be able to live with his disapproval. However, it would be a lot more pleasant not to have Sethe challenging Veroen and potentially aggrivating Veroen because he did not approve of the fact that the void was bothering Veroen more so than usual. While it would be easier if everyone could just get along, though, she'd learned the hard way that some people simply refused to get along and no matter how hard you tried they weren't going to up and change just because you yelled at them to. She'd seen Reno shot down for that very reason and she'd also witnessed instant change though Tokeru had been living more of a lie with her than anything. He'd been using his relationship with her to get close enough to her to drive a stake through her heart and while he hadn't managed that the pain had practically matched the betrayal anyhow.

Sethe sniffed once more, and stepped back. He turned his attention from Veroen to Edith, and shook his head while she stood there in a trance. When she came to, Sethe looked her in the eyes. 'Control your wolf' he said to her. 'If you can't, we will, if we have to.' Sethe put his hand on her shoulder, and stared deeper in her eyes. 'Understood?' If she met his gaze, she'd notice something odd about his eyes. Something new. Hidden within his irises were greek letters. In his right eye, was the symbol Alpha, in his left, Omega. He blinked, and they faded.

Sethe turned his attention to Veroen, once more, and looked him up and down, still holding his hand out to shake.

Meredith held her hands up in mock surrender, fingers wiggling as she did so while rolling her eyes. "Gimme a break here, cut me some slack, sheesh. I've only been like this for not even two months ... I don't trust this stinking wolf at all, she's crazy. And yeah. She's under control, down pat and I'd expect nothing less if she starts going berserk." As he stared into her eyes she did notice the greek symbols though she didn't recognize what they meant likely because she hadn't learnt them at all. Him holding her shoulders didn't phase her much, she knew Sethe was just being Sethe and trying to assure that he had her full attention. He definitely had it and though she respected him, they were siblings and she did somewhat blow him off with yet another roll of her eyes. "Yeah yeah. I understand. Jeez. What's crawled up your a--? You're really uptight or at least a lot more uptight than you used to be."

Veroen had been silent throughout this conversation, thinking about what was happening to him. And when Sethe got close to his face, Veroen looked at him silently with his single eye. It was odd to have met another man who was tall enough to look him in the eyes, something Veroen was not used to, though it did not bother him. Veroen had lost an eye long ago, and a black eye patch covered the socket where it once was. He simply said nothing however, when Sethe asked him what was wrong with him.

Veroen closed his eye, and stood there in silence, that is, until Sethe held out his hand. Veroen hesitated, for his right arm was the one infested with the Void. The markings still burned from earlier, but Veroen was able to lift his arm, and grasp Sethe's hand with his own, trying to not show the difficulty of the process.

He slightly grinned.

"Good to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you, Sethe... It's a pleasure."

He then kept a straight face as he let go of Sethe's hand. It burned to lift his arm like that, because of the tattoo that spread down his arm, and to his lower neck. The pain shot up his arm, but he did not show it. It was obvious that Sethe could smell the Void on him.

'This one is strong.... Perhaps he would have been a better puppet than Alasdair....'

Veroen ignored the dark whisper, and continued to pay attention to Edith, and Sethe.

'The vampire sizes up the lycan as the lycan sizes up the vampire. Each have their own voices along with another in the back of their minds. You see how much you three share in common? I have to say that having a wolf is much less of a burden than having nothingness gnaw at your very core. Wouldn't you agree? Just listen to what it says to him. No worries, I'll let you.'

Eden rolled her eyes at the wolf pestering her as was it's usual custom. She did not know why it insisted upon torturing her by dangling her abilities just out of reach so that she could only tap into them if the wolf allowed her to or she accidentally kicked them into gear herself. More often than not, though, the wolf was the one who pulled the strings in regards to hearing more than just noises but thoughts as well. Meredith didn't know how to hold onto the ability though she had tapped into it accidentally and briefly more than once since she'd been this way. It was like a hopeless game of tag where the only way she was able to catch the wolf was for the wolf to grow bored with the game and simply sit down out of boredom until Eden caught up. Sometimes the wolf was treacherous enough to rise again upon Eden nearing her and simply snorted with amusement as Edith made her feeble attempts to keep up. It was like fighting a losing battle on a daily basis but ever so slowly Eden was conditioning herself, becoming fitter with each chase. She was determined that one day she would catch the wolf though today was not that day. Instead she had to 'borrow' the ability and listened carefully and managed to catch the few words the void had to say.

'See? Dangerous. Why do you think I'm constantly on guard when he's around?'

'Lay off it. I know the void is dangerous but Veroen's strong and he'll be able to fight it. I know he will.'

'The assassin may be able to disguise pain well but the markings are as clear to me as if his entire torso were exposed to me. Your brother is right, he wreaks of nothing and I can feel the emptiness, it's eating away at what I breathe in. It manages to make everything less plentiful. Greedy, self-serving this nothingness is.'

'We'll find him help. I'm sure if one of the three of us don't know someone who can help him then you do or perhaps someone else ...'

"Sethe's right, though, Veroen. You reak of the void. Are you losing control or what the hell's going on with all of this? I just got a message from hunter saying that you got into a friggin' fight in the bar. Something's not right. Do you need help? If you do we can try to find you some. I'm sure you could ask a fellow vampire who's in tune with the void how to deal with it. If not we'll just figure it out on our own but I'm worried. Do you think you're able to handle this?" The concern shone through her hazel eyes as they directly confronted Veroen's former crimson, now abyss-like eye that swirled with the vortex of the void. Her eyes contained the fiery glimmer they always did, the eyes that always had the small ray of hope, the ember that remained when it'd been blown out long ago in other's eyes. "I'm willing to do what I can. Just let me know if I can help you at all."

Veroen quickly glanced at Edith, and then looked down.

"Yes, I apologize. I just let my anger get the best of me, that's all. She started it, and then later found me and apologized. It's all ok, I promise."

The Void chuckled.

'Damn right you let your anger get the best of you. And it felt good, didn't it...'

Veroen ignored the voice and replied to Edith's statement.

"I'm fine... I have it handled..."

The abyss whispered again, in a mocking tone.

'You don't have a damn clue, Vampire.'

Veroen ignored the voice again, and glanced at Sethe, then back to Edith.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 10, 2009 10:13 pm

Meredith turned to give Veroen a cold, hard stare that was almost purely business minus the flickers of worry that were etched in the embers that remained defiant, refusing to be outdone. "Well this whole new discovery about the coven thing really has you off balance. I think you should lay low for a while and take things easy whether you do it here in haven or at your own place. You've got my cell number if you need anything, I'll go with you if you want me to, you can stay here if you wish. Whatever it is you're planning to do just keep in contact one way or another." She hadn't even been able to ask Veroen where he'd been the past few months and now she was onto worrying about the void overtaking him. Veroen was stubborn and she was certain that he would never reach out for help, especially in front of the likes of Sethe.

'Your instincts know as well as mine that he's downplaying and deceiving you.'

As she stared at him in all seriousness, however, her hazel eyes became churned in a peculiar mess of mercurial honey and soon enough the swirling stopped and developed an amber colour. Her eyes seemed to sharpen and in doing so her eyes, the sole feature affected, became significantly more wolven. As for the voice that chose to speak, it was by no means Meredith speaking. Anyone could tell by the way the woman's body tensed instantly, how the hairs on the back of her neck rose and the graceful way she held herself that this wasn't the little Jackson in charge any longer. The voice was much colder, more aged, quieter and significantly more sinister than Eden's voice ever could be. "You, vampire, are a fool. Treading the pathway to the abyss is impossible for the abyss engulfs the path and thus you have no guidelines or landmarks by which to arrive safely. Everything becomes variable."

Veroen was silent as Edith spoke, seriously considering the laying low part of her suggestion. Although, during the duration of her suggestion, he noticed something different about her...

Then, she spoke again, except it was completely different voice, and tone. Veroen instantly felt threatened by this. And as soon as an insult was thrown at Veroen, it set off a spark that quickly ignited the fury within him.

His eye swirled with dark power, and his throat began to burn as he had the urge to utter a hiss.

Edith? Why Edith? She was the last person that he thought would insult him and act coldly toward him. This affected Veroen more deeply than expected.

His chest burned as the markings spread even further across his chest.

He clenched his jaw, fighting back many different words and emotions.

"I see...." is all he said.

And with those words, before the Void could even whisper dark thoughts into his mind, Veroen exploded into tiny shards of shadow, and dark smoke of the abyss, which instantly evaporated into the air, leaving nothing there.

When Veroen addressed him by his real name, Sethe chuckled, while Esou growled. Up til now, the two voices spoke in unison, saying the same things. however, they split now, still sounding at the same time. He stared at Veroen, pulled out the sunglasses, and held the arms of the sunglasses in his fingers. The voices rejoined, and Sethe shook his head.

'You don't call us Sethe.' he said to Veroen. 'We said you can call us Krii'Esou. That is all.' His eyes pierced Veroen's eye. His head tilted to the side, a tick. 'Are we the only ones in control in this Haven?!' he said in surprise. 'Really?' Sethe turned to Edith. The wolf inside her would feel Esou. *You will respect your host. She is your body. Work with her, and stop toying with her.*

He turned back to Veroen. He eyes lit up, the white glow returning to his eyes, at last. The glow from his eyes shone on Veroen. 'If you cannot control your darkness, and you lose the upper hand, I will be there. I will keep you from becoming a problem.'

*We don't like him. He'd better prove our first impression wrong in the future. He lies to you. Lies to us. To the Omega. He's a potential threat to this Haven. He'd better learn to control himself, or we will have no choice but to end him.* Sethe said to Edith, sending his thoughts to her mind, and shielding them from anyone else. He stepped past Veroen as he put his sunglasses back on, and lifted his hood back over his head. The ninja pulled on the wrists of his right glove, tightening it against his hand, as the door to the Infirmary opened.

'We must find someone, and talk with them. You two should speak with Uncle about training yourselves in controlling yourselves. By that, we mean as soon as you can. By that, we mean now.' He stepped out of the Infirmary, and walked towards the ladder up to Hunters.

Perhaps if Veroen had been more rational he would have realized that Meredith hadn't been speaking to him at all but had merely been a puppet for that of the wolf that was clearly threatened by Veroen's newly acquired powers. The moment the wolf withdrew Meredith's eyes shot back to hazel though they only got to see Veroen for a moment before he disappeared, clearly hurt and pained and angered by the wolf's words, having taken them for her own. Instantly the lycan pummelled the object nearest to her and that just so happened to be a side table by one of the beds. It was made into short work before hers, Sethe's and Tobias' eyes. The table instantly crumbled upon her fist contacting it, the table simply snapping in half as she pounded it. Her teeth were clenched and tears were stinging the corners of her eyes as she contemplated just completely levelling the place altogether. Of course, she kept a leash on it and didn't allow the wolf to feed off of her aggression and she slowly calmed herself down.

Upon Esou addressing the wolf it did not falter upon Esou's statement, absolutely defiant even in the face of a potential threat. The wolf had withdrawn but within the depths of Eden's eyes was where the glower came from as well as a soft snarl was emitted only for Sethe's and Esou's ears to pick up. It was clear that this wolf had to be dominated before it was willing to take any orders from anyone or anything. Whether it'd been a top wolf or a lone wolf at some point in time it was clearly accustomed to doing as it pleased as opposed to listening to the petty opinions and orders of others. Esou had caught her attention but he by no means frightened her and was no where close to forcing her into submission. It was by her own choice she had withdrawn for now.

Upon hearing Sethe's and Esou's hard criticism she merely held back the tears and nodded while looking at the ground. This had wound up being an absolutely horrible evening despite the fact she was absolutely ecstatic to have her brother back alive and safe. 'I know you don't care for him. And yeah. He seems to rub more than one person the wrong way upon first impressions but he's not himself at the moment. You won't have to end him ...' She didn't finish that thought because if it came down to it she didn't know what she would do. Going against her own brother to save the person she loved or watching as her second brother killed someone dear to her. The defiance within her soon rose and she pre-chose her route. If Sethe attempted to kill Veroen she would stand in his way. She hadn't been able to spare Reno from William but Sethe wasn't going to take Veroen away. Veroen was different, she'd prove it or rather he would when he was himself again.

"F--k. This is my fault. You're right, Sethe, I need to control this f--king animal before it ends up being the ruin of me but now isn't the time. I'm sorry but I gotta go after him. I can't just leave him and let him think that I'm against him too. He's just found out the coven betrayed him and I was one of the only people he had left going for him ... Then I'll get uncle to help me out." She was sad that it had been so easy for that b--ch of a wolf to convince Veroen that those words had been her own but somehow the wolf had managed. Veroen clearly wasn't being rational at the moment but that didn't stop her from being disappointed in herself and disappointed that he hadn't been able to detect the difference. That was a petty little detail in her mind right now, though, she needed to find Veroen as fast as she possibly could with no trail to go on. Nothingness had a scent but once it engulfed Veroen it disappeared entirely.

As Sethe made his way toward hunters she knew he was seeking out Kerrigan and looking to speak with her. However, Eden was prioritizing Veroen over Kerri at the moment and hoped that Kerri would understand. Hopefully Raven would be there to keep Kerrigan company and help her to face Sethe, not that she needed the help but clearly something about Sethe's return had triggered a nerve. Edith wasn't really overly concerning herself with that matter at the moment, though as she planned to head out into the city in order to begin her search for Veroen. She followed behind Sethe, planning to use the exit out of Hunters.
