I swear, I cracked up when I read Snivy.
See I have never gone through knowing the Japanese names and then waiting for the reveal of the English names. So it has never really hit me how funny some are. I'm probably gonna keep calling the Tepig Pokabu and Oshawott Mijumaru, just cause they are easier to say.

They will and will forever be Pignite, Smugleaf, and Wotter to me. I will see about the other lines of evolution names.
Also, why the hell did they change the region name? They have never done that before.

They have never done that before. Right? Am I the only one enraged by this? I liked Isshu, Isshu works for me. Unova sounds stupid and doesn't roll off the tongue. But seeing as most of the other languages are changing the region name there must be a reason for it.

I don't have any problems with Tepig, Snivy, and Oshawott. The names are rather clever, I feel. At least, Tepig and Snivy are. I don't know the origins of 'Oshawott', but I think it's cute to say the least.
And Isshu is supposed to be based on America (at least New York), and Isshu is too 'Japanese' sounding for an American region. Isshu comes from isshurui, "one variety". Unova is a combination of the Latin 'Unum' and 'Nova', meaning 'One New'.
And the German region is "Einall", coming from 'ein' (one) and 'alles' (all), "All-in-One", or "One-All".
It makes sense when you look into it.

Sorry for the holdup Lala/contest people. All my classes decided to blast me with projects the week before Thanksgiving so I've been having to throw all my spare time into them. I'll try to get in the rest of the battle tomorrow and let us all take advantage of the holiday.
As for the name debate, I'm sad they changed the in game region name between region releases, but I'll get used to it eventually. Seeing as all the final starter evolutions are lame (exception of the otter thing, although it was more of a what-the-hell-was-that-change) I don't care whether they had 'cool' names or not.

Translator2: You mean, "the" new pig? Translator2: Wait. Translator2: That's a great idea, "tehpig"! Translator1: Let's not reveal our typo though and go with "tepig" instead. Translator1: Man are we cool. Translator2: You know it! *virtual high five*

Doesn't make me dislike it any less. It's not some giant not gonna get the game over it kinda thing, just something that annoys me a bit.

Sorry I've been very innactive. It is mainly because of me being sick along with my running. For a run down, I'm going to leave for Philadelphia for Thanksgiving very shortly, and probably won't be on as much due to it until saturday night. then the next weekend, i will be back in Philadelphia for a race. Finally two days after I'm leaving for Alabama for my x-country nationals. See you guys real soon (hopefully).
