Ya..I think I just encouraged my own flaming..

-things that point to the fact that; one is high-

I usually go with the tournament specs...Three is a good place to set your abilities if your gona use powers at all..

I hold my chars to such..}

{-waves a ghost hand in front of vizzles face-

Huh...

That's neat...so it just erases my existence away altogether to his Gaia perception huh?

Like page stretches because of my posts and everything?
-wouldn't know cause he's never blocked any one-

O-o

When it became an advantage to do so, during DF's fight against Eversor. I figured if you had a fight with one of my teammates, or wound up fighting me, it was only prudent to remove you from my ignore list. Same for this tournament.

I rarely put people on my ignore list permanently, and especially not roleplayers of any caliber, be it people in tournaments like this one or retards in Commerce. People are just put on there once I decide that there's no further purpose or use in dealing with them, and then after a while I usually take them off. This largely stems from people's insistence on continuing arguments in PMs. Only one has actually managed to get put on there permanently (along with all her mules that I know of), because she's a constant pain in the a** to everyone who has ever encountered her.

The only way he'll see you, turnip, is if somebody quotes you.

I've made use of the ignore function quite a bit, but only leave people on there long enough for me to cool down.

Yep. In guilds, once you ignore someone, their posts never show. In the normal forums outside the GGN, you can see an ignored person's posts in the Topic Review.

{-chuckle-

I think that's basically what he just said..

and noice...Though I guess that's shitty in the way that some one could easily crop a post to say something I never did..

not that any one here is that maniacal...
-even so I'm not sure how much I could care at this point-

xp
And I really wana see those scores...

Eh, the whole argument in HoH was pretty silly. I'm just passionate about social studies, as are you. But other then a few things I disagree with you on an intellectual level I don't think you're a bad guy.

Gonna start some drama and just mention you didn't try to run something into the ground like Vince did. =(

Yep. I rarely think people are "bad'' or anything. I usually only put people on my ignore list when an argument persists to the point that I don't feel it warrants anymore discussion, and it allows the people to continue interacting in the same place without having to dredge up the argument time and again. Which you see in the RP community a lot on Gaia. I'm sure I've been guilty of it before.

Same idea here. I'm not like "omg i haet u" and put people on the ignore list. Just a way to let time pass so as to not beat dead horses. I've only put one RPer on the list permanently, and the others are non-roleplayers that I had reason to put on my ignore list, for whatever they might have been.

And with your fight with Vince, I was just of the opinion that it would be best for both of you to walk away and leave it to the judges. Everyone had a different idea of what was going on, and no one was readily agreeing on much of anything, even the judges. So packing it up and just leaving it where it was just seemed like the best idea, to me.

Well, my fight with Vince went bad because of a lack of communication.

For one, instead of ever coming to me about his concerns he always just kind of ignored me. So when I had Koto send me a PM about nerfing my one spell, it was fine, but I was in my head thinking about Vince, "I thought we had an understanding." Another time that happened was with the whole claws thing. I posted in the help thread then talked to him, asked him point blank do we have an understanding, and he said yes. And then three days later I get dragged into a chat and just feel like I'm being ganged on.

I generally feel like I'm a very compromising person, sometimes a bit too nice to people, so I guess it just bothers me when I'm being taken advantaged of.

DT just seemed to overall had poor management or just poor communication. I wasn't so upset that people were asking me to tone down some abilities, I knew before hand I was pushing the limits. But people didn't start asking me to change stuff until the middle of the second round, after I used all those same abilities in question in the first round. The excuse that my first opponent was "too stupid to complain" really isn't a respectful nor good enough excuse to ignore something that was apparently a real problem.

But yeah, I simply could not give into Kuwabara's decision. He was pretty much forcing me to take a considerable amount of damage while he was letting Vince just get off with not much of anything. I mean, considering I did think he was honestly just ignoring whatever damage I did manage to deal to him. And then people were just ignoring the little fact that my character isn't Human. Elvaan(FFXI) are relatively small compared to what you imagined a body builder to be, but are by far the strongest race in their universe.

But yeah, I guess that's enough about my grievances. Was just kind of disappointing to be the last person to hear stuff about me on the grape vine, and even then most of it wasn't true. I don't like people saying I cried and complained about everything when I didn't even have access to do that.

Yeah.. a lot of people don't seem particularly happy with how the DT has gone or been run. Personally, I didn't have terribly high expectations. That's not a put down, because I had no idea WHO was running it. I just.. didn't think it would work out too well. I'm just cynical like that.

I think they ran into some peculiar problems, and the tournament has had its set-backs. If it manages to run to completion, I'd call it a success, with the belief that next year, it would be better with experience on the staff's side.

After the GTB, though, I think I'm done with participating in tournaments, at least for a while. I've about had my fill, after running the whole gauntlet of HoH and then turning around to do both the DT and this tournament. I wasn't even supposed to be in the DT, but Vince's team got short-handed and I was allowed to enter. I'm not sure yet if I regret it, given the OOC problems that have cropped up.

Makes me glad I listened to my intuition and dropped out of the DT.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 23, 2009 10:45 pm

The benefit to tournaments for a casual person like me is that it allows me a chance to simply play with people who are worth while to play with.

I troll commerce, trying to find bars and stuff to rob with Rachel but it never works out. People either get ultra-defensive and start to god mode or they just well..suck.

Kind of hard to build a story about a character in that kind of environment because I can never get anything finished. And then I can't really be bothered to join a guild since I can't commit to long term.

I'd like to see a Naruto based tournament just so I can kill everyone since the only fags who'd show up would be from BWI.

But yeah, DT had promise. The idea was very solid. But a combination of staff having personal problems flare up and the rest of the staff being overall lazy(The amount of profile revisions needed after the first round was dumb) was its major fall.

Well, I appreciate the judging staff and what they've done to try and keep things running smoothly. They have definitely had a lot of problems to handle, so I know it hasn't been easy for them. I think with more experience, things would run smoothly as they would know what to expect.

Though, some of the things that they had to deal with were just.. straight out of left field. So they've had some.. unique challenges to say the least.

EDIT:: Yeah, tournaments offer a lot. For my character, they've been his primary means of moving forward in Gaia, until I find something else. Unfortunately, like you said, Gaia isn't too conducive to doing things like adventuring, or something like highwayman robbery. You have.. tournaments, running or working in a bar/inn/whatever, and the occasional event or something.
