Nothing concrete, but I do have some theories. For example, after reviewing some evidence and past documentation it is intresting to note is that the people who travel the Mutliverses and arrive here can't really be killed. Perhaps a part of the motivation for them coming here is to find a way to keep their rings perpetually charged by murdering people over and over again.
Also it is possible that they are looking to branch out and leave our universe and travel through the universe, recruiting their numbers.

Those with light based abilities like the Green Lantern seem to have the most effect. My initial guess was seperate them from the rings, but the Outsiders found that doesn't neccesairly work, as they found out from Terra.
